Always our first ride when we arrived .I'm a modeler myself, and I love the world your creating with such amazing skill. I'm always inspired to do some modeling when I've been binged watching. A bit auckward at 2am when I'm normally watching UA-cam. We're from the UK and we've been lucky enough to go too WDW Florida a few times over the years. Unfortunately my beautiful wife past away a few months ago. Your videos are bringing some wonderful memories of our time together on our favourite ride in our favourite place. Good stuff a s always!!!!! Two notes: My wife sews a LOT....she gave me a bar magnet for my pins....works well and can be used if you drop a few!!!! I bought and used some of the Tacky Glue on making coal loads...worked well. Thanks
Your little aluminum miter box reminds me of the splicing blocks for 1/4” audio tape. I’m well familiar with those from my radio days in the early ‘70s.
If I may give an advice from personal experience, the pin cushion can be made cheap using offcuts of foam core or cheap soft pencil erasers glued to a base of hard wood or card. I use two erasers glued to an offcut of ply myself.
Very nice model. I bought a similar precision razor saw last year (from JLC in Czechia), and it's a great tool. I don't know for real wood, but for making wood grain from styrene, it is the best tool. Depending and the side of the saw, fine or coarse grain can be made in one or two pass. All other ways I used before were more time and elbow grease consuming! Don't have yellow glue here in Europe, only PVA, and I prefer the exterior version as it is fully transparent when dry. And PVA is easily dissolved with white vinegar.
Dave great video. I always learn a lot when I watch your videos. They are to the point and not a lot of needless monologs. Any chance of getting a copy of your blueprint of your ore bin. I understand if it's not something you'd like to do. It's for my own private use. Keep up the great videos.
On the wood glue application subject, I’ve been using flat toothpicks for probably 45 years. The downside? I can no longer find them anywhere in my area! Going the way of the Edsel I guess! Found them on Amazon though! Just discovered your channel tonight, and liking what I’m seeing!
Beautiful work, especially the model airplane style building board. I was with you until you dropped a term of art NBW. Clearly if I had been staying current in model building I would know what an NBW is, but ... Fortunately, I've lost any inhibitions that I might have had about pointing out my ignorance. Again, a very well designed and detailed piece for what looks like a very good RR. Some ideas that I will be stealing for my next layout.
@@ThunderMesaStudio Queue Homer Simpson forehead slap with, "D'oh!" As with everything now it makes perfect sense. Nut and bolt construction is a bit more rough and ready than the rivets that I was imagining. Thanks!
@@ThunderMesaStudio If you are still thinking about a pin cushion. My wife really likes the Grabbit Magnetic pin cushion, it will work great with your dump them out style and simplify collection of loose pins.
Your layout is inspiring. While i am not a model railroader, myself, I do like to build model buildings for other things like tabletop games. I was curious what brand of coffee stir sticks you use because yours seem a little more robust than most of the square-ended ones I have found.

I would like to find a 3D model (if it exists... haven't had much luck) for printing, if possible. I don't mind purchasing from a hobby supply, but it would be nice to just print them off when I need them. Thanks!
Dave , nice build, where did you get the Japanese razor saw/metal miter box? Quick tip you might also try Silverwood by Builders in scale for wethering wood. Similar to alcohol and Indian ink however there is a stain in it that turns wood gray. I've been using it for the last ten years the large bottle lasts a long time.
Dave - is the Miter Saw you're using there significantly better than the traditional one? Looks like a good item to add to the Christmas list, but I already have too many tools. Is it worth getting to replace some? Thanks!
It's an excellent tool that I find cuts basswood much more cleanly than a traditional razor saw. Plus you can buy new blades for it when it gets dull. Is it a must have? It was for me since I was never really happy with my old razor saw. So, If you already love the saw you have, you probably don't need this one.
Can you tell us where you get your materials like the .25 laser board please? I live here in Arizona and have Google searched for it and found nothing, thank you.

Ha! My bad, I usually try to define my terms. NBW = Nut, Bolt, Washer castings.
