    9:11 I wish we were so lucky with ours lol
    Tried this very simple instruction about 15 different ways and the ‘wifi’ light on the subwoofer just will not go green for the life of it. Genuinely considering a one star review for how hard it is being for us, and how little there is in the manual (or anywhere else for that matter) for a subwoofer that won’t connect.

    Great video
    I used to have 5.1 amplifier
    I bought the bar recently and i think i need to add the 2 speakers
    My question
    Will they make a difference?

    Hey! Thanks for the useful video. I haven't been able to figure out if streaming music from Spotify requires opening the app through the yamaha app (like you did first time) or you just can airplay (via Wi-Fi) directly from Spotify app?
    We use iphones and would like to airplay directly from each phone without pairing like on Bluetooth.
    Maybe you have an idea. Thanks again!

      Hey, I have android, so it might be different, but I can open the spotify app and all the speakers that are connected to my wifi come up as playable options, when you click the little speaker button in the bottom left of spotify.
      This is how i've always been doing it. Hope that helps

    Hi and thanks for this detailed video, it's much more helpful than the provided help. I've got one issue though, and it's that my Multicast 20 speakers are very low in volume, which is really a pity. I guess the only way to give them more power is by playing with the distance to source setting, isn't it? I just see a volume slider for the whole setup, not for each component...

    • @yekki_1250
      @yekki_1250  3 роки тому

      What id recommend is getting the widgets from the musiccast app on your phone homescreen, you can then increase the volume for each of the speakers even when they are linked. It saves a lot of time and should make it all loud enough.

    • @alexanderpasnl
      @alexanderpasnl 2 роки тому +1

      If you are on the screen with the content you are playing, there is a slider bar for volume on the bottom. Tapping on that or on the arrow on the right from it, will open a box with all the individual speakers, where you can set the volume separately for each one.

    Can I add 3 surround speakers to a musiccast soundbar bar 400 (two music cast 20 and one musiccast 50) would they all be part of the surround setup or I am only limited to two speakers ?

    • @yekki_1250
      @yekki_1250  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure to be honest. On the app there is a dropdown for number of surround speakers. Mine is limited to 2, this might be because I only have 2 devices connected to my musiccast app, or it might be the limit.

    I have pretty much the same setup as you and things were great until it stopped working all together for some reason. Can still link the speakers, but then the subwoofer doesn't work and when I try to set up surround sound again (same way as you and before) it now says setup failed... Super frustrating

    • @yekki_1250
      @yekki_1250  3 роки тому

      Oh that is mega frustrating. If each of them are all accessible via the app and you can turn them on/off and link them, then unfortunately I have no idea. Hopefully yamaha can help as that's rubbish!

    • @alexanderpasnl
      @alexanderpasnl 2 роки тому

      This sometimes happened to me when there was a firmware update. Instead of trying to reconnect the speaker, what helps in my case is just adding a new speaker. During the procedure the app recognizes that it already knows the speaker and a few seconds later it's up and running again and 9 out of 10 times it'll prompt you with a possible firmware update. Must be a kind of glitch somewhere but luckily in most cases not that hard to come by when you do it like described. Or at least in my case is wasn't. Happened to me twice in four years, so it's not really common.

    Hi there. I have just bought same set. I am just wondering if this only my problem or is this normal with it. I connected them with no troubles to the telly and set it as 5.1. Works fine untill tv is off and on again. Than only soundbar works and rest of them has to connected again using the app. It is a bit annoying as i am not the only one using tv. Any advice?

    • @yekki_1250
      @yekki_1250  3 роки тому +1

      This isn't something I've come across, but I often only set up 5.1 for films then move it all back to their original rooms so can't be fully sure. I'm guessing you are connected via HDMI-arc? I wonder if that has something to do with it

      So wait. If I plan to use this soley for surround sound. Do I have to pair it everytime I turn the tv and soundbar on?

    • @alexanderpasnl
      @alexanderpasnl 2 роки тому

      @@joysleep99 In my case the last setup is being used when I turn things on. I have no idea why this is happening to the topic starter. I do know that a lot of people configure the speakers as rooms, just as in this video. It's called rooms because that really is the idea behind it... like in separate rooms. Just with Philips Hue, you add devices to rooms. I have one speaker in my room Kitchen, 2 speakers in room Office, soundbar in room Bedroom and 3 speakers and a sub in room Living room. I don't usually change the speaker setup in the living room. What I do change is which room is playing what. So when I am playing something in the living room, I am playing it through all speakers there, So when watching a football match when having friends over, I choose tv sound in living room AND kitchen, for when someone gets a drink. When cleaning the house I choose ALL and so on. If you enter each device as a room and choose everytime which room you want to connect, things will get annoying, but as mentioned I don't think that's the way it's intended but for some reason a lot of people do it like that.

    I have the Bar 400 alone and I've been wondering about buying two 20s (or one 50). Wondering if you're happy with the outcome. The sound is rich and was it worth it? Or maybe there is not much of a difference between soundbar and soundbar with the additional speakers?

    • @yekki_1250
      @yekki_1250  4 роки тому +1

      It depends. If you are just going to use the speakers to bolster the soundbar, I'd say it's probably not worth it. It does surround sound but for me it doesn't add a huge amount extra.
      If you are getting them for linking rooms and music that plays throughout the house then it is amazing and totally worth it!

    Hello my friend! I'm thinking of buying this Yamaha music cast bar 400. I only use it for movies & gaming on my TV! What is that sub like? Is there enough oomph coming from the sub? How is it with the soundbar? Does it blend in well? I mean, it doesn't sound out of place? Sorry for all these questions. But I'm really interested in buying this soundbar & sub! Thank you Yekki. 👍

I’ve had it for 3 years now and I all I can say is don’t waste your money on this or any similar multi cast systems

    • @garynicholas4334

      I've been having the same issues for over a year. The problem is your wifi signal needs to be absolutely perfect allowing all the devices to maintain a solid connection with each other.
      If just one device has a dropout (including the device controlling the app) everything loses a reliable connection and will refuse to connect again correctly without wiping/rebooting/shouting & swearing etc.
      I have just bought two TP Link Powerline Adaptors which seem to have solved the problem.
      The only down side is all the devices including you phone or tablet need to be on the network created by the Powerline Adaptors.
      Or you could just moving everything (thats all the Yamaha devices, including the receiver or main unit) together into the same room as you router, which really defeats the idea of a wireless multi-room system.
      I'm still testing the Powerline Adaptors but everything looks promising.
      I bought the TP Link AV1300 with the added wifi extender for good measure.
      Don't give up, it's all great when it all works as it should.

    Hey Mate! I have bar 400 + sub for 5 months already and it was giving me amazing experience while watching series, movies and playing ps4.
    Tomorrow I am about to purchase 2x MC 20. Would you let me know how does it work with Netflix and 5.1 sound option? Are you using it ?
    It costs some money but it's Yamaha. Question is, if I am about to use it for surround experience - does it give additional amazing feelings ??
    Also, another question. As far as I understand musiccast system it synchronize through wifi. I do not have big apartment, router is in the next room so signal is fine. I noticed that you wrote that you didn't have issues with it. Never? Never disconnected ? Once it is set up though app - it is working without errors?
