    The fix finally for my for ongoing issues with my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid!
    #Chrysler #Pacifica #Hybrid
    I dug up the invoice from the repair and this is exactly what it says:
    "AT TIMES VEHICLE LOST POWER. VEHICLE HAD CODES, U11C5-00-BCPM LOST COMMUNICATION WITH ON BOARD CHARGING MODULE AND U0074-00-DEDICATED POWERTRAIN (D-PT) CAN BUS OFF. CHECKED VOLTAGE C6 CONNECTOR CAN C+ AND CAN C- NEGATIVE WERE NOT ABOVE 2.5V WHEN CHECKED SUPPLIED POWER AT A893 SOMETIMES VOLTAGE VARIED. CHECKED VOLTAGE AT POWER DISTRIBUTION AND POWER VARIED SOMETIMES AT THE POST. WHEN CHECKED BATTERY AO CIRCUIT FOUND THAT AT D8118A CONNECTION WAS LOOSE SOMETIME 12V SYSTEM WAS DOWN. TIGHTENED CONNECTION AND TESTED FOR CONSTANT 12V PLUS AT ALL TIMES AND IT WAS CONSTANT. ERASED DTC AND NO CODES CAME BACK."

    Ok for those asking I dug up the invoice from the repair and this is exactly what it says:

    If needed contact Remi (service coordinator) at Jake Sweeney Chrysler-Jeep in Cincinnati Ohio and they may be able to share more technical data. This is just what the tech put in the service log/invoice. Hope this helps. Have had zero issues since.

    Had 3 Chevy Volts before buying this hybrid van so we'll schooled on hybrid ins and outs. Got tired of waiting for GM and other more reliable manufacturers to get such a vehicle in dealerships as we needed more room and comfort from a hybrid vehicle plus needed the $7,500 tax credit and end of year pricing. Had it almost 1 year now and confirm some of the things mentioned in video. The noises didn't bother me as you get spoiled with the lack of engine noise from these hybrid vehicles most of the time and when the gas engine does run sometimes it may seem more pronounced as you are used to not hearing the noise of the engine running. The light colored leather interior is hard to keep from staining but can be somewhat mitigated with proper cleaners and leather care products. The electric mileage is great for such a big vehicle just slightly less than the cramped Volt. The almost 600 miles per tank is great also. I have to add gas maybe once a month or less. Comfort, room and utility are great but no towing capacity.
    The stupid award goes to their use of some software tied to the radio that you must use to set the charge schedule. The charge schedule must be reset every month or it will not charge on schedule which you need for off peak electric charge rates ( costs about $ 35 to charge per month ). No fix yet from Chrysler but they have known about this problem for years ( WTH Chrysler that is one of the main reasons you buy a hybrid or electric so you can use it mostly on electric, not where you want to have a glaring problem inconveniencing customers from doing such duh ). Never owned a Chrysler before because of quality and reliablity issues so bought the extended warranty something tells me that was a good move. Bottom line this vehicle is not for everyone, but if you need a quiet comfortable ride with good utility, great electric and gas mileage, the tax credit, end of year pricing and gas savings then go for it but try and get darker interior if you can, we couldn't find one at the time. If you are buying and have doubts about quality and reliablity get the extended warranty at a discount and if you don't need the tax credit just lease.

    Andrew Moore when you pay bookoo bucks for a car, in this case $50,000 it should work flawlessly

    Hey I just watched your video with the problems but it's a very simple problem. Probably a bad ground on the 12v or a bad or discharged battery. Same thing happens on other hybrids even Toyotas when the 12v is drained or bad lol

    • @zt2141
      @zt2141 3 роки тому

      Just finished watching all those codes mean nothing computers in the van can't talk to each other properly when the voltage is low. Was most like the ground or the cables may just have been loose lol

    Sorry you had to deal with this. This all sounds like a pain in your schedule. All of that is fancy words for "The battery power circuit was loose." They didn't tighten the + connection from your battery to the connection of the vehicle. I'm happy this issue seems resolved.
    Are you having other problems? Could you tell me more about this radio issue?

    • @AndrewMooreVlog
      @AndrewMooreVlog  4 роки тому +2

      Sadly it was some connection deep deep in the van so it wasn’t as simple as tightening the battery ha ha.
      The radio every now and then (still) powers off and reboots as if you turned the van on. It’s always after starting the van within about 1 minute, and the reboot takes about 30 seconds. The backup camera still activates though if I am reversing during this so it has to be something with the entertainment system and not the screen per say. It’s annoying and the dealership thinks there is a firmware fix coming. I work in IT. (There is always “a firmware fix coming” lol). Oh well. It works fine after that. This only happens maybe 1 of every 20 trips I’d estimate.
      Still happy with the van though. 👍

      Andrew Moore Right. It’s not the direct connection to the battery but the battery harness going into the vehicle was loose (D8118A harness connection).
      That does sounds REALLY odd the radio is doing that. Do you have a video of an event when it does that?
      If you hold down the front defrost, up and down arrows (a total of 3 hard key presses on the center console) below the radio display at the same time for roughly 10 seconds the radio will enter ‘Dealer Mode’. In that menu touch the “radio part information” selectable option and then it should show you “software version number” and that’s the exact software that’s flashed onto your radio that needs to be diagnosed. It should look like “MR.XX.XX”. Could you tell me the software on your radio?
      I’m a Pacifica engineer 🤓

      If it shows ER 17.3 or ER 17.4 there was a fix for that called ER 18.3. Why your dealer doesn’t have that fix is completely beyond me but anyway... hope this helps.

      Andrew Moore I’ll re-clarify press and hold:
      Front defrost + Red up arrow (driver side) + Blue down arrow (driver side)
      For roughly 7 seconds or so. All hard center console buttons. You’ll enter Dealer Mode.

      @@AndrewMooreVlog I am happy that they fixed the issue for you and sorry that you have to go through all this. Did they give you a loaner van during this period?

    • @AndrewMooreVlog
      @AndrewMooreVlog  5 років тому

      Rimon Zaky oh yes. The first time was a crappy low end Caravan. The second time was scheduled so far out I demanded a loaner Pacifica which they found and saved for me.
      All in all the dealer was great once the FCA case was opened. Just took months to find the solution. Such a high tech issue too.

    The radio code event seems to me the radio is losing power connection as if someone removed it. Thus the protection security code popup.

    Surprised they didn't just take the car back, give you a new one. That way they can bring it back to the factory for investigation.

    Curious, did you buy your Pacifica brand new or was it used? How long did you have the vehicle before the issues started?

    • @AndrewMooreVlog
      @AndrewMooreVlog  5 років тому +2

      I bought it with 46 miles on it. First “reboot” was maybe 5 months in. Then it slowly started happening more and more. I think the Ohio winter weather finally knocked loose the connection and then it was happening multiple times a day. All less than 10k miles. I did get the 100k warranty since it is a new vehicle(first few years).

    Clearly the van had a 12 volt issue. The fact it took platform engineers, and trained technicians months to repair is embarrassing.
