  • There are a few pieces of gear that you need to consider for your new Scout who has recently joined a Troop. We go through a list of them and why. Don't go out and buy all sorts of "stuff" your Scout won't need. Hope this helps. Welcome to Scouts BSA, your Scout will have a fun journey, and don't forget this is also a journey for the parents. Enjoy!

Hi, I'm from Indonesia, your vid is great about scouting. Once I got a uniform shirt of BSA from thrift, is olive green color (just like the sleeping bag).
I just want to know, is there any difference uniform between the kids and adult if they're join the scout?
I've been search the information about the uniform color, but there was not satisfy me.
In Indonesia, there is only one color that we used to uniform, its brown, you can seach it 😁
But about BSA, I still have no idea, LOL.
Fyi, in left arm, there's a council path, written :
    SUNNYVALE,
    Below it :
    CALIF.
And troops patch number (nuneral) is :
    425.
If you got information where I can see/watch it, pls tell me, or perhaps you can explain it a little, thx.
    Sorry for my english.

Hello! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, the green uniforms are for a different section or division of Scouts BSA. It's a lot more of an adventure type group that ranges in age from 14 to 21 and both boys and girls are allowed in the "Crew." They are not called Troops. They concentrate on high adventures, usually meet once a month and plan more extreme outings. like long backpacking trips, or rafting down rough rivers, or possibly rock climbing. Sunnyvale, CA must have been the Council the shirt was from and it was a Venturing Crew with the #425. I also checked the internet and Facebook but couldn't find anything. There is a Venture Crew # 425, but they are out of Irving, Texas. The Tan shirts are for Scouts BSA, which is the standard Boy Scouts of America group age 10-18 years old. There is also a navy color shirt that represents the "Sea Scouts," same as Venturing except they do all water activities. Hope this helps in some way. Thanks for the compliment on the channel, please share if you see anything that interests you and your fellow Scouters in Indonesia.

@@scoutingamerica1910 : wow, thank you for your kind explanation, its a lot of information for me, especially about Scout in America.
So, I'm not allowed wear the uniform, because I'm not at that range, 14-21 yo, beside, I'm Indonesian, LOL.
Some video on youtube, said that shirt is vintage version of Boy Scout uniform, but I don't know.
Last week, my friend told me that collector here looking for this shirt version as colletion. No patches, except coincil path and number. The patches was taken off from the shirt (flag, and patches), there is mark on shirt of sewing.
Well, once again thank you for the discussion, I'll keep it as one of my collection from thirft, haul...some kind like that. It's fit on me, so confortable wore it, wow....
Maybe I'll make the video of the uniform next day, so glad if I can share with you about scout in Indonesia, I am one of member of "Gerakan Pramuka", was.... :D
      Thank you....thank you....thank you....
