Just do what feels comfortable to you. I’ve been an assistant for 11 years and frequently stand due to my height. I ensure to do core exercises to stay strong and stretching :) you all got this! Take care of yourselves
I saw people thousands and thousands standing and working harder under the sun...nothing happen, If she get problem then she is weak as hell not fit...maybe just like your mind.@@linapari5.462
I just subscribed!😊 I’m going back to work after staying home for a few years raising my family. I’m a bit rusty and need all the help I can get. I can’t thank you enough for your time and help. So, again, thank you for this video and please make more like it!
May I ask if you were able to go back to work? I’m in the same situation and I want to return to work but it’s been years so I’m not sure what I can do especially since certifications are up
Your voice over is really helpful to understand the entire procedure. One suggestion it is very stressful to stand and assit one of my friend ended up this profession coz of lower back pain arises and he needed to left this profession.
Dental assistant in training here! Thanks for the video, it's super informative! How long has the assistant been working with you? and how long did it take for the procedure to run so smoothly?
I've been a dentist for 26 years. It's always a work in progress. It usually takes about 10-20 patients with the same procedure before an assistant has it down.
And the dentist is proud that the assistant is standing. You know that it will damage or affect the body in the long run, right? That is why they don’t advise assistant to be standing and learning to sit down
I absolutely would not stand all day and to ask that of your assistants while you’re sitting is cruel. The only time I stand is if it is a hard to reach area for me. Assistant chairs are made to go higher than the operator for a reason.
Assistant can choose to sit or stand. I don't make them stand. I'm not cruel. Plus, I know that an assistant chair can move up and down. Thanks for input.
Totally confident there was adequate isolation for that composite filling? Better isolation, better the filling, no? Looked like moisture could have got in their quite easily? Curious why rubber dams around routine for composite fillings.
I have the luxury of being in the same office for 25 years and see my work come back in for check ups. I'm happy to report this technique is working well. Very rare is there a debonding or recurrent decay situation.
I came across your video while looking through UA-cam to find some training videos. And this video is great. I'm somewhat a new dental assistant, and I don't really have any experience. But it's so hard to get hired as a dental assistant with no experience. It is very frustrating!!!!! How can I ever get experience if no one will hire me?!?!?!?😔😔😔😔🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️
@sundominga I'm sorry, but you even read my comment?? I have already completed a dental assisting program, my issue is getting hired as a new dental assistant with no experience...That's the dilemma right now.
Try starting working at a corporate practice instead of a private practice. I did this because they required little to no experience. Once you got a hold of the basics try getting into a private practice or dental temp agency.
Me I am Dental assitant bit I l9ve to work stand up cause I have better vision and I can improve better my position and I have a great view about where I gonna put my suction without disturb the dentist
This is better training than I’ve had in my 2 months working as an assistant
Glad it was helpful. For more stuff you should check out pivotdental.com

Standing while assisting will damage your assistants body over time.
I find it unfair that he’s sitting and she’s standing… and you’re so right
@@MmmmKjkjjsome people prefer to stand
Genuine question, how does standing destroy the body?

Standing during assisting is inhumane and selfish.

In some states the dental nurses are the ones that replace the filling The Dentist removes the decay and the Nurse does the dental filling

Why is the suction touching the assistant's pulse at 7:51? Not hygienic for the patient and for the assistant.
It was hovering over it
@lotto7249 It just didn't look like it
Was he supposed to polish the composite. Or some composites don’t require polishing?
A fluted bur at the end creates a smooth surface.

Molar restoration without a rubber dam? That’s risky!
I don't think so.
Risky? How so? Just need skilled moisture control.

Come true someday. :)
I would stand purely so I could see what I was doing 😂 but as you get better you know where to place things and can take seat for your poor backs sake
I was told by the doctor I worked for you can see better sitting 🧐
It’s a matter of preference
No dental dam while doing a composite? hmmmmmm
Yes. I've been doing composites in my office without a rubber dam for 25+ years and no problems.
Rubber dam isolation 😏
I should of worked with you. (R.D.A)
