How many of each of those do you need? This video doesn't really state any of that. As far as the wiki goes, The only thing it shows is a gp/xp calc, and that's not relevant on my iron. That's usually the whole point of these helpful videos. Getting all the relevant info to... help. I was expecting to see that this time around; but since the math goes beyond looking at a runelite xp/hr calculator, none of the UA-camrs are bothering to calculate it out loll. It's just disappointing is all. As a result, I'll most likely chaos alter the bones anyway.
@@TheHeedbo Haha, that's pretty funny. It's not just No Help though, it's all the Varlamore prayer method videos. Theoatrix kinda goes into it, stating if you mine the shards with 99 mining, you'll get like 20-30k prayer xp/hr. But even that's a low amount of depth for Theoatrix standards.
Missed mentioning that the Chaos Altar XP per bone is actually double what is listed on the wiki when you factor in bone saving, minus some expected percentage of bones lost to being PKed. You should wear Zealot Armor for the Libation Bowl, so its rates are 5% better than listed. Put both together, and Chaos Alter is like 35%ish more efficient. This doesn't matter for mains, uims, or hcims, but it does for regular irons, who wanna get the most out of each bone. I think what is efficient now is likely Chaos Altar for dragon bones and up, and for things like baby dragon bones, wyrm bones, things you cba to do wildy content for, do bowl. Still probably BIS for UIMs and HCIMs now, though.
Prob the best part for Irons that could make this better, is you can literally just mine the bone shards and have 0 risk. Wildy might be faster, but with this method you don't even need anything like dragon bones anymore, could literally mine it to 99 prayer if you wanted and also get a ton of mining xp.
I did 100 kc of perilous moons and got from 70 to 74 prayer on my iron man just from the sun kissed bones and wormling bones using this method. I grinded only 5 wave 1 colliseum runs for sunfire shards (worth it in yoir wines). It was about 1k wormling bones and 500 sun kissed bones i earned. Total time from prep to 74 prayer (from 70 prayer) was about 2 hours to run through everything (not including the perilois moons run of course). This is fantastic for iron men! Perilous moons runs are great for iron men. In my 100k i also have over 1k water orbs. 1k irit herbs, 500 harralander and like 50 maple tree seeds and 30 plis yew tree seeds! Plus combat xp!
@Eisi0wns it takes me roughly 7 mins to do a perilous moons run. Im base 90 melee stats using zombie axe. But I would definitely say in general this blessed bone shard method is king for low to mid iron men.but simply put, if you farm your own bones with combat like from green dragons let's say, use wildy altar. All bones from perilous moons, use bone shard method
Could you try to calculate the actual prayer exp/hour? Assuming the player needs to gather the mats. The prayer exp/hour being shown when you are spam clicking the bowl is cool and all to see the rate go so high, but it's kinda a meaningless metric.
They always mess up the xp rates on these guides and often on the wiki even. I don't trust a single xp rate I see because these people don't ever use common sense when calculating, they will do some skill at 99 for 5 minutes and then just multiply it to make up a rate.
As it was not mentioned in the video and it is currently mentioned on the wiki, the Zealot armor seems to boost the prayer xp evern further. I have not tried it myself yet so if someone tried this, let us know 😀

Also you made an error. You stated in the beginning that Sunkissed bones cannot be turned into shards. It’s literally the opposite, that is their ONLY function, being turned into shards

Have to say there is a fair amount of info missing here. For starters this method is quite slow if you count the amount of time you are gonna be blessing/spliting bones and the amount of time you take to make sunfire wine and then bless it. If you use superior dragon bones is not that bad but if you use regular dragon bones (wich is the most logical path as it is way cheaper than the superior) you are in for a long run. The prayer xp you get per hour is average at best and definetly way slower than the guy on the video says. At the end you dodge all the pvp situation with the chaos altar but you get less xp than you would get there and its way way slower. The real advantage of this method is that is very chill.

As an Ironman I'd still recommend using wildy altar, the 50% chance to save a bone cannot be ignored for the massive time saved not having to collect 50% more bones in general.
You'll definetly need to unlock the Quetzal transport system (to teleport Teomat Hunter Guild/Civitas). Hunter Cape is nice too since it teleports you close to a bank chest/Quetzal). So the quest requirements would be "Children of the Sun" for Varlamore access and "Twilight's promise" for the Quetzal transport system.
With the chaos alter still being the best xp per bone with the saving effect I believe the intent was to give a good option for all the bones people didn’t want to run to the chaos alter or use on a gilded alter like wyrm bones etc
@@PapaSquaatch I see your point. I think the upfront 0xp/hr prep work isn't hard to look past since you're guaranteed not to lose bones like you could at chaos alter. I just have a metric f ton of bones to use right now. I don't really feel like losing any of the high valued ones either. I also have a ton of wines banked from 99 cooking. Might be doing this method haha.

Yea, thank goodness everytime a new update comes out we have content creators releasing videos that don't even properly understand the method themselves just showing us how they do it with maxed gear and levels and then its impossible to find real guides made with time and consideration

If you're an iron and you need wines you can buy an infinite amount inside Cam Torum from an npc in the pub and bank them like 10 feet away.

I have 135k blessed bone fragments just from the hunter guild, as of writing this I’ve done 490 master rumours.

I burned through all my bones the other night and can confirm the robes do work to save bone shards
Zealot outfit is highly recommended because the 5% bonus doesn't apply to every prayer action but to every bone shard.

It is by no means better than chaos altar considering the time you spend breaking down bones, getting wines etc

You also get blessed bone shards from the blessed statue you can steal from the wealthy citizens houses.
