Creating A Halloween Pumpkin Tree Using Vintage Jack-O-Lantern Treat Pails & Buckets

- This year I created my first ever Halloween tree complete with vintage trick or treat pails, buckets and pumpkins. I stopped at a local yard sale where a lady was selling this prelit tree for only $5! Of course I had to grab it and give it a good home. I wasn't sure what I was going to do since I don't have many Halloween themed ornaments but was inspired after seeing someone display their pumpkins on a fireplace mantle. I have a wide variety of pails large to small that range over the last 40 years. And I finally got to use my rotating Christmas tree stand that I bought on clearance like five years ago. I had some orange and black tinsel I had purchased from The Dollar Tree which is a local dollar store to me. I think it turned out beautifully. It was so much fun to have a tree up for the Halloween season. I hope you enjoy this video!

I bought about two dozen of the multi colored pumpkins from Walmart. They were only $1 each. I put them down my stair railing from the second floor (outdoors) and put lighting in them that blinked. I had to drill holes in the bottom so they wouldn't collect rainwater. Very colorful and fun. Lots of neighbor comments. Your tree is BEAUTIFUL!!! Such a great look. I may have to make one of those next year. Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween. (big grins)
Ooohhh I bet that was magical! We had a good Halloween considering. Harrison was sad to see the Halloween decorations coming down but I bet he will be excited again when the Christmas stuff starts going up

Brilliant job! We will admit we weren’t the biggest fans of the “Halloween” Christmas trees but you out did yourself because we love this one. The arrangement of the vintage trick or treat pails is perfect! 🎃❤️
I was the same way. Christmas trees are so special and magical around the holiday time. But this didn't feel traditional in any way so I think it I'll keep it around. Now should I change it up next year or keep it the same?
@@HollywoodHaunter completely agree about Christmas trees and love your Halloween tree. Always fun to change it up ( even if it’s a small change)! I’m always fiddling with things so it’s inevitable that they evolve lol. Have y’all seen the Disney Haunted Mansion Tree from last year I think during the holidays? So fun! We are thinking Chris May need to wire you some flicker lights for you to put inside the pumpkin 🎃 😉❤️ Hope you and the family are doing great!

Yes, yard sales are the best. Super excited tomorrow is Saturday and my favorite day to shop lol!!!

That is a fantastic idea. I have a friend who does that with her paper mache pumpkins and they look amazing.
I bought a black, fiber optic tree for Christmas one year and I really regretted it. Even when it's lit up the tree is dark and hard to see. The fiber optics don't really illuminate the tree itself so it ends up just being a shadow in the corner of the room with some fiber optic points of light at night. I had originally planed to decorate it with Mexican Day of the Dead skulls instead of the usual Christmas baubles, but never found skulls of a size I thought would look right, it's a fairly small tree.
I love your Jack-O-Lantern tree though, they really stand out against the black tree, and look great.
What a bummer. I have seen Day of The Dead Skulls but I'm going to have to think of who made them. World Market maybe??? Do you still use that tree or did you swap it out?
@@HollywoodHaunter I got rid of the black tree at the end of last year. I'm still not sure what I plan to do this year, but I'm sort of leaning towards something more traditional
