God safe Chichester , I cannot forget summer 1985 when I came to study English, I was 18 years old, still I have a beautiful memories in it and I am planning one day to come and visit Chichester.
Very interesting to see this. I lived close to Westhampnett where the river "overtopped" as it has in the past and will do again. All that area covered ni high density housing now.
Very interesting, thankypu for posting. I only just remember the floods, I was 7 years old at the time but I never saw Chichester (town) we lived in Bosham (a small village nearby) o do remember wading through the water with the other kids to go get supplys for our elders x
Really amazing to see the place a drive into and out of daily in such a desperate way, I was only a teenager when this happened but being on the roads now for some years I have good memories of the 2000 floods and I think it was 2010/11 ? I maybe wrong. Hopefully it never gets to that situation again!
Thanks for posting this...doesn't seem like twenty years ago...sure sign I'm getting old!
Proud of my brother Derek Scott's efforts
I remember this as a kid, mad times
I was at high school when this happened, and I remember it well

Of course when I’m born there’s barely any snow
Good old Green Goddesses, their pumps saved the city.
They still continue to build 🤦🏻
Fires and floods, judgement day again for Chichester.
Chichester city is uphill from West Hampnett and uphill from The Hornet: water doesn't travel uphill!
It annoys me how they refer to chichester as a city. It's a bloody village.
Goddam the 90's sucked
