#MacBookPro #M2Pro #M2MaxGT-AXE16000 quad-band WiFi 6E (802.11ax) gaming router, new 6 GHz band, dual 10G ports, 2.5G WAN port, dual WAN, AiMesh support, VPN Fusion, Triple-level game acceleration and free network security
World's first quad-band WiFi 6E gaming router - Ultrafast WiFi 6E (802.11ax) quad-band WiFi router boosts speeds up to 16000 Mbps
New 6 GHz frequency band - Wider channels and higher capacity delivers higher performance, lower latency, and less interference.
Expanded coverage - The exclusive ASUS RangeBoost Plus improves signal range and overall coverage.
Flexible AiMesh configuration - Dedicated 5 GHz or 6 GHz backhaul using ASUS AiMesh routers for more flexible device options
Dual 10G ports - Enjoy up to 10X-faster data-transfer speeds for bandwidth-demanding tasks with two 10 Gbps WAN/LAN ports.
2.5G WAN port - 2.5 Gbps port prioritizes all network traffic, and unlocks the full potential of WiFi 6.
Triple-level game acceleration - Accelerate game traffic every step of the way - from device to game server
I bought a second one for my mesh. I tried other less expensive asus routers for the mesh and it caused headaches. Best to run ethernet backhaul on the 10G port. I no longer have issues. Runs flawlessly now. I installed the latest merlin firmware and no issues. I bought the first router in july 2022 and only recently got another.
Have no idea what mic you have, but my ears gonna explode... good video
Nice video plus clear descriptions. I have just upgraded my internet to 2 GB here in the U.S. (at&t), so I think it is about the right time to give this baby a try. If everything worked as expected, I might even want to jump on the highest internet tier for 5 GB. There are always impressive marketing stuff on the paper, but buggy firmware might kill some of the features specially with the Asus reputation. I Like your accent and your country Australia.
If you don't mind can you let us know your experience with those speeds? I am also upgrading to 2.5g speeds and want to know how well this handles it over wifi and LAN.
@@ajberry8047 Yeah sure. The router actually met my expectations. I even test it with features that most of users would not bother setting them up or using them consistently including, WAN aggregation, LAN aggregation and setting up VPN and many more. For months, ever since I have setup the device, I have not had one single issue that forces me to restart the router so if I did restart, it was because of testing the staff I wanted to examine or add along the way. I put the router on a special fan tray with two silent but powerful fans so I haven't notice any unpleasant warm temperature as a result of working continuously. I have about 50 plus WiFi clients with all smart devices, TVs and security cameras and .... and three hard wire ethernet to this router so after I used and setup the QOS (you get many different options when it comes to QOS , I used the traditional one that you should setup everything manually) all devices have had connections as fast as it was intended. So with a fast internet speed higher than 1 Gb/s, you should not ever look back for anything else. But keep that in mind, since this router has a lot of functionalities and I think it is not made for general consumer group. it is very possible that you get tempted in changing some values (options or features) and that can easily results in device not functioning as you would expect. So if you are planning to buy this router, either use it as it is (out of the box) after general setting or know some essential networking references to address your need effectively.
So this has either a 1G or 2.5G connection to the internet provider but can it handle 5G if I were to upgrade?
@@DJ-HGLegacy Yes that is one of the very few available routers with multiple internet speed capabilities. Firstly, it is a 2.5 GB And 10 GB (please read the specs from the main Asus website for the details) Secondly, On the 2.5 GB port you can connect any connection up to 2.5 GB and On the either one of the 10 GB ports (there are two of them) you can easily go with anything from 2.5 GB plus up to the 10 GB Thirdly, this router can handle WAN aggregation which is combining the two separate internet connections (ie, from two separate ISPs) at the same time with any type of multi gig speed. There are a few other routers who claims the same capability but this is the only one without interruption due to the high amount of RAM and multicore super fast CPU it is made of.
@@Revolutionized I appreciate the response and the information.
Haven't had a fiddle with this thing but the user interface looks awesome. Always been a fan of the web gui and how intuitive the asus software is.
Leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in the power home user market.
Can you use one of the 10gb ports for a WAN port ? Getting 8gb fiber internet. Do you have to use the 2.5gb WAN port or can you use the 10gb for internet also ?
Yes you can. Just check out the product page. Also download the manual. Both will tell you everything.
Just set the 10GE 1 port as the WAN in the interface, then your good to go
Bought this today 😊
Awesome ❤
Caution: This router appears to no longer be fully supported. The firmware on this product is 3.0.04 while most other high end ASUS routers are 3.0.06. I bought this because it supported VLAN only to find out it is only supported in a beta version from 3/2023. The there are places on the internet that state the router supports things like VLAN(like for a dedicated network for vlan), Guest network pro, custom settings per port on the router, iPhone tethering, Multi-services WAN, etc but this is only with the beta version of the firmware (9.0.06).
I got 1 GT-AX11000 and 2 GT-AXE11000 for my home. I dont see any reason to upgrade. GT-AXE11000 has WIFI 6E, ill pass on this one waiting for there WIFI 7 ones.
What made you get 2 axe’s? Just curious…
@@LrgPicture I game a lot on my PC and Ps5 I have a 3 story home and my PC is down stairs so I needed the best coverage, I think with 2 I was fine a but I got excited for the new technology and pulled the trigger got them, Overkill I know but O well there paid off so I'll be good for a few years.
@@LrgPicture I use them as a AIMesh Nodes.
Did you see any difference in it from other routers?
@@moradhraki1966 Not really other then the Ax is WiFi 6 and the AXE is a Wi-Fi 6E router.
ok i have 1 gb fiber internet. if i wanna hardwire my gaming pc which port would i use??thnx
Anybody know what laptop is shown in this video? With the LCD display in the back
and i would use my cat 6 ethernet or get a cat8?? plz help
What cable modem would your recommend?
Net gear CM2000 is pretty good. Has a 2.5 gbe port.
BEST ROUTER
AMAZING and AWESOME Speed 4 One GB LAN, 2.5GE WAN and DUAL 10GE PORTS and Wow SUPER CLASS AND MASS SUPER SPEED and I LOVE it ASUS GT-AXE16000 MBPS
And it can use for the home use ?
100% any house hold would benefit from this
Which port would you use to connect a Xbox series x Ethernet
Kinda all same but if homebroad band plan really strong that good .
Wi-Fi router with the price that we never dreamt of...
I have a question …where would I connect my Xbox series x Ethernet …which port to get the best speed
For Xbox just use one of the normal ethernets.
@@TallyHoTech ok thanks
Compare to xiaomi ax9000 wifi range?
How much EM radiation does it emit? Can it fry an egg?
Is this released in Australia yet?
Yes any day now
So if you’re gaming with this router, you should not use ethernet because it’s slower than the Wi-Fi?
no use the ethernet, read it a bit more the wifi is 16,000 MBPS the ethernet is 10 GBPS megabits per second vs gigabits per second the ethernet is way way faster, even though no home internet currently can access 10 GB speeds any place, unless its a business fiber drop system, most homes any place max is 1 GBPS, or some rare places that have in a select very few cites as test beds for it have the 10 G networks but most of the world does not for home use currently but using the 10 GB port will allow that portion of your network to not be the bottleneck part of any slowness that can occur with that kind of bandwidth
I have this router. WiFi is around 700 mbps down. Wired speed is about 1350 mbps down. Wired is way faster.
If you use ethernet i would suggest a Cat8 though.
@@supertrix6628 Why bro... big B little b.... Also, I have 10 Gbs internet. It's not uncommon now. 2.5 Gbs internet is nearly anywhere with fiber. The problem is I just want a gaming router that doesn't suck. I only get 10 Gbs if I connect directly to my PC and bypass the router, which is insanely frustrating. Imagine
what does the 16000 do that my 11000 doesn't do?
extra rgb excluded.
That’s a beast. No need to upgrade that but the new one has Wifi 6e Quad channel (extra 6Ghz) faster CPU 1GB extra Ram. 2x 10Gb ports.I think the WAN is 2.5 on the new one that yours has 1GB Wan
the difference mainly is it can handle extra devices more, if you your in a busy wifi place that needs 40+ connections at once, most homes never come close to such numbers. for wifi specifically -Next the 10GB ports vs 2.5 gb ports ethernet again, neither make much difference in a home situation as their is generally no ISP internet providers in most of the world that offer more then 1GB for home use currently. their is a few places that may have faster but most places 1GB is max in the world for everyone. if you do data transfers for video editing and things then the 10GB from 1 system to another or storage nas would be better choice. usually most home users dont have that kinda of data transfer needs 24/7.
Lets you have the 10Gbs wan (kind of), because ASUS is trash. It's almost like the bottleneck the thing to make you buy the next one the second you get faster internet.
Ok its fast... but how about a VPN and security?
Has built in AI protection for security and supports Surfshark, open vpn, wireguard, and others. It is a beast!
NOICE!!! WWWOOOFF
Woof
Well, I do have 10gbs here and ASUS is pissing me off. They do stuff like give a low-speed wan port and one high-speed port. So you can have say 2.5gbs to the wifi and nothing else. I'm so frustrated with this. Guess I just buy another $500 router. I just want the damned 2.5gbs ports. I'd be happy with that. I'm about to just get a 10gbs switch and leave the router for wireless only. POS
Wifi 7 is here...
WiFi get bottleneck cuz slow NAS... YIKES
It's a triband router. 6ghz performance is yet to be thoroughly tested. An additional band doesn't not necessarily imply faster speed . Spend 500 dollars on a router and install custom firmware!!. Is this a joke ?
Have you tried Merlin Firmware before? I am guessing you have not or you wouldn’t phrase your statement as such about a 3rd party firmware. Some people make their decision on what ASUS router they will buy based on if it is supported by Merlin because it is that good. Might want to read up on it.
Do Not buy it
This router (Asus GT-AXE11000) has far worse Signal strength than the older & cheaper Netgear RAX80 Wifi 6 router, which is funny, considering it has 8 antennas and is bulkier than the NG.
This is GT-AXE16000
Netgear has the worst firmware! I would never buy another netgear router.
