  • This Doppelmayr-CTEC high speed quad was built in 2006 to replace the 1987 CTEC triple on East Peak. It follows a different alignment slightly to the right in order to keep the lift off the middle of the Wingn It trail and add more space for the queue. The triple was relocated to the Wonderama slope to replace a Carlevaro and Savio triple, and stayed there until it was replaced by the Whirlwind Express quad. When built, this lift had side loading, but it was switched to straight loading for the 2018-2019 season. Built the same year as Belleayre's notoriously horrible Superchief, it of course had similar issues. It opened about an hour late today due to a breakdown, and then ran at this pathetically slow speed all day. Not surprised. Not impressed.
The length is 3762 feet and the vertical is 1045 feet. The capacity is 2400/hr, but I think they only have enough chairs for 2000. The design speed is 1000 fpm, but it was not running anywhere near that speed during this recording at only 775 fpm. This lift needs to be sped up to at least 900 fpm like it used to.
