It really is size wise! And when I look at the engineering on the Toyota diesels there’s a lot of similarities. Excited to hear this thing start up like the last one!
If you change heads and injectors you would need to change the pistons. The spray angles are different between 9mm and 7mm injectors. The Non- IC engines are marine style pistons
So I have new interstate mcbee pistons in now with the 155 degree bowl pattern so I can run 145 degree or 155 degree pistons. Confirmed with bit power driven diesel and dynamite diesel
Injectors - I turned my 9mm injectors to fit in my new 7mm head. now the issue I have with my engine is it farts or pulses through the intake. No one has an explanation but I suspect the power stroke compression is getting past the gasket due to warpage - yes I checked everything with a straight edge but I think the combination of warpage on the head and block is creating the issue. I think I need to do another tear down and get the head and deck machined. Multiple mechanics have stated they have never run across the issue.
Interesting 🧐 yeah I’m looking into getting the injectors turned if I get a new head, I wonder if it could be injection pump or they’re no popping correctly?
@@Austin_SaintOnge Pop pressure was checked - it was low and I could not get shims so I went with new injectors, I also resealed the pump. I am going to put air into the cylinder with the piston on TDC and see if air comes out the neighbour cylinder. I am also running compounds on a untouched stock pump. That dropped the EGTs and milage went up, boost never goes over 23 lbs. No smoke and quite clean running.
Hi, what about making engines and replacing them, etc. I basically envy you now that you have a wonderful engine running on that 4.5 petrol, that it doesn't make such noise, vibrations, rattles, oh 1HDFT, I'm not at all satisfied with the performance of that engine up to 2000 rpm, it's practically dead at 1900, it wakes up and at 3000 rpm finished. I'm most sorry that it doesn't pull from the bottom. Driving on 35" tires reminds me of the situation as if I have the brake on 1 tooth and the wheels are locked on 3... I increased the injection pump from 45 min to 50 min on the clock.. and apart from the increase in smoke, nothing happened.. I'll probably put it back, at least it won't smoke.. So that's about it..
The 4.5 petrol is running really well, but it lacks power on the highway. I don’t know much about tuning the Toyota diesels. Can you find anyone there that specializes in tuning them?
@@Austin_SaintOnge There will be some troublemakers, but I won't leave it in their hands. I'll add pressure to the turbo with an external valve and we'll see. But it leads to the fact that I leave it in the original and equipped. 🍻
@@TLC-HDJ80 6BT Cummins engine has around 200 HP and a torque rating of about 420 lb-ft The 1FZ-FE engine produces around 120 HP and around 200 lb-ft of torque on a good day. Many feel ideal power for these trucks is around 350 HP. I believe the diesel is also substantially more fuel efficient. (plus, it looks and sounds bad-ass!)
Do you have mandatory technical inspections in your country? in our country it is called a technical inspection station where you have to go every two years to check the brakes and the technical condition of the vehicle and the chassis, you must have the size of the tires written in the technical license, etc. did not pass. How is it with you?
Yeah we’re pretty lucky to not have to deal with most of that! I’ve heard a lot of countries are pretty strict as far as inspections. I ran 40 inch tires with a 6 inch lift and tons of fuel on my last Cummins swapped 80 series. It depends on which state you’re in. Here in Idaho, we don’t really have any
Its uncanny how similar this engine is to a 1FZ. Good work!

I think you should use 37s for tires this time around.
Yeah I’m thinking 37s as well, I’m probably going to do a 2 inch lift and trim the flares

piston squirters - did you put in new ones, or check the old ones were ok. One of those things that can not be missed with a Cummins.
Yup they’re all there and in good condition!

@@TLC-HDJ80 lol yeah don’t let the troublemakers tune it😂 yeah sounds like you’re needing more boost
Hi, will the engine you are assembling go into the petrol LC 80?
yes
Yes it will!
Thanks 😊
And why do you change what is the reason for it? Isn't it better to leave the original? The originals have the greatest value.
