O problema do brasil é a desigualdade e falta de organização. Todo mundo sabe que se a gente quisesse conquistaria o mundo. Afinal, somos o terceiro maior produtor de alimentos do mundo e ainda temos 30 milhões de pessoas famintas. Mas pelo menos não somos o país que mais produz lixo, é segundo maior poluente do mundo e o país que mais desperdiça comida que nem os EUA, inclusive já fui para lá e o marido da minha amiga que é americano encheu o prato em um bufett de comida brasileira (ou seja, de comidas que nao conhecia), não comeu nem 1/3 e foi lá e ENCHEU O PRATO DE NOVO E JOGOU METADE NO LIXO DNV. Quando eu vi aquilo eu pensei "que país é esse que não educa seus cidadãos a valorizar a comida?" Literalmente o que ele jogou fora dava para alimentar 3 pessoas. Também vi um documentário chamado "História das Coisas" dos anos 2000 que dizia, que na época, EUA produzia 30% de TODO o lixo do PLANETA com 5% da população total do planeta. Ou seja, chega a ser cultural. O problema, para mim, é a visão mega consumista de "comprar para ser um verdadeiro americano". O EUA é o segundo país que mais produz Dioxido de Carbono e olha que basicamente toda suas empresas são em países subdesenvolvidos como o Brasil. É aquela coisa "não vou mais poluir... no meu país, bora pra América do Sul, Ásia e Africa poluir lá".

When it comes to territorial space, if I'm not mistaken Brazil is the 5º largest in territory. As a matter of fact, since I am commenting here in july 05 2024, our economic position currently is 9ª, right and Canada is 10ª richest. However, its important to mention that the economic inequality in Brazil is still huge! In other words, that explains a bit why so many Brazilians go to US or Canada as you have mentioned. Despite being the 9º richest country in the world, this wealth is badly divided among population and public services does not provide the due return to the most vulnerable. Violence, public transportation, starvation, a sh.... of health service etc. Indeed, that's why this GDP position is a good index for some purposes but not much for the others. If we have 100 US$ of GDP, for example, and only two people at an imaginary country, it's correct to say the this is a good country? Well, it depends on how these 100,00 US$ is divided and used to/for these 2 people. Let's say, guy A has 50 and guy B has 50 = 100,00 ok, nice! GDP 100. BUT, if Guy A has 95 US$ and Guy B has 5, US$ ...well this is the same GDP, 100 US$. But, when it comes to well beingand quality of life or income, these are two totally different realities. We have a huge economy in Brazil, but we also have a weak currency. All the quality goods go to exportation and the basic stuff prices(and non basic either) are high compared to the average salary. Also in the video they say that the economy is larger than giants like Russia, Canada or India

A little bit late hahaha but, in te minute 7:00 , just to clarify, when it's said 'Brazil 9ª largest int he world" we are talking here about GDP (that is, we talking about economy). When it comes to territorial space, if I'm not mistaken Brazil is the 5º largest in territory. As a matter of fact, since I am commenting here in july 05 2024, our economic position currently is 9ª, right and Canada is 10ª richest.
However, its important to mention that the economic inequality in Brazil is still huge! In other words, that explains a bit why so many Brazilians go to US or Canada as you have mentioned. Despite being the 9º richest country in the world, this wealth is badly divided among population and public services does not provide the due return to the most vulnerable. Violence, public transportation, starvation, a sh.... of health service etc.
Indeed, that's why this GDP position is a good index for some purposes but not much for the others. If we have 100 US$ of GDP, for example, and only two people at an imaginary country, it's correct to say the this is a good country? Well, it depends on how these 100,00 US$ is divided and used to/for these 2 people. Let's say, guy A has 50 and guy B has 50 = 100,00 ok, nice! GDP 100. BUT, if Guy A has 95 US$ and Guy B has 5, US$ ...well this is the same GDP, 100 US$. But, when it comes to well beingand quality of life or income, these are two totally different realities.
By the way, I'm Brazilian and, yes! I do love my country as the most people here. There are a lot of good things in Brazil besides nature and beaches. There are so many good things that I cannot even count. But, even the richest country in the world face some issues. Brazil is not an exception.
