omg! I broke my arm ice skating 6 wks ago and decided to break down and get something 'easier' to clean with....I LOVE THIS!! I had a friend go with me to Bed, Bath and Beyond. My cousin and her husband just gave me this because they got a newer model and I couldn't figure out how you got the steam to come out so I want to say thank you for the review it is great and I really appreciate it!!! Blessings to you and yours xo
I didn't like the bucket and mop method of mopping. I switched to a steam mop after viewing many You Tube cleaning videos. I love my Shark Steam Mop! I've had it 2 years. The only con I have is it doesn't stay put when propped up against the counter. It tends to slide down the counter, and fall on the floor if I stop to do something. I like the 3 levels of mopping too. I've learned to have a jug of distilled water on hand for mopping. The floors feel so clean after mopping. Great product!
So far so good with this vacuum. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
Thank you for the video. It was very helpful as I just purchased one at a rummage sale. It came with several mop heads but, no directions. Your video was very informative.
Another great video. Did you know you can sew your own steamer pads? Large terry cloth towels near car isle, very easy to sew by hand. It's $12 for 50 terry clothes, Home Depot.... I'd rather spend $12 for 50 covers. Pinterest has the patterns & instructions to follow
Thank you for this informative video with not too much editing in between so we can follow along and catch the little details that too much editing will get rid of. I don't have to wake up my roommate (who is sick) to ask how to use her mop now! Winning!
Thank you for this video. I had not used my mop in so long and forgot how to turn it on... 😆. I love this mop as I now inherited 2 cats from my daughter and it does the job getting my downstairs living area sanitized
Thanks for this review. I was just reading in my manual and mine has a dust, mop, and scrub setting. You press the on/standby button once for dust, two times for mop and a third time for scrub. I am a bit cynical that all 3 of those settings actually do anything different. I guess it just lets out more steam? Off to try it for the first time.
Nice tutorial. I forgot how mine worked because I hadn't used it in over a year. I have a bathroom with dark grey tile, and very light grey (almost white) grout. This thing works AMAZING at restoring the grout to like new. Excellent grout cleaning device!

Ha! You should see my mop pad after mopping nearly 3000 sq. ft., with five kids at home, three dogs, three cats, and a husband living on farm land!! 🤮 I recently had to hire someone just to dust and mop my floors! And it really is a good steam mop. I add a few drops of peppermint essential oil in my water tank. Not sure if that will damage it, but my house must smell good after all that work! Oh, and the new pet Shark vacuum with all the attachments is amazing!!!! My two Shepherds shed a whole new dog everyday and this vacuum draws all that hair right in! Love it!

Hi there! I just bought a used one, it looks as good as the you used in the video 🤷♀️ I all three heads but only 1 cover (for angled head) no beaker cup, (oh well) I can't wait to try it out, but does it really require distilled water?
Ooh I WANT!! A steam mop has been on my wishlist for a while now... 😊 Question: How do you wash all your cleaning rags/steamer covers? Do you wash them with or separate from your clothes? Do you wait until you've got a full load's worth of dirty cleaning cloths? I just never know how to go about doing this so I would love to know how you manage it! Thanks for the video!
I wash my cleaning rags totally separate from all other laundry. I even separate the microfiber cleaning rags and the regular rags because I've found the microfiber will pick up lint from the other rags. I have two baskets in a closet off of my kitchen - one is all of the CLEAN cleaning rags and the other basket I throw in dirty. Once I'm almost out of clean rags, I take the basket upstairs (since my laundry room is upstairs), separate and wash. I would say I've accumulated close to a small load of laundry of rags for both loads (microfiber and regular). It's honestly took me a couple of years to figure out the best method but this has been working for me! :) I sometimes wash the shark steam mop pads with the cleaning rags but I usually wash them with my load of towels since I only end up washing my rags about every once a month, at the very least! Once you accumulate a good amount of rags, this system works! I hope this helps and make sense! :)
Jamie's Journey thanks for answering my question! Totally makes sense. I only have like 10 rags total, so I think maybe I just feel bad "wasting" a whole load on rags. 😝 But thanks, that seems like a good system you have going on there!
Ran across this today. My husband bought me one right around the same time this video was made. I love mine. So handy esp. with a now crawler in my house. Only problem I can't find the proper pads. Do yours Velcro all on one side or have slots to slide in? Mine Velcro on one side so now it's in the closet and it's back to old trusty dust mop. 😢

Is that actual hardwood flooring that you're using it on? I have basically the same steamer, bought it about 2 years ago. I use distilled water but never had to pump to get steam - I just looked at the handle on mine and there is no button for it. Once in a while it cuts out for maybe 5 or 10 seconds, I'm guessing to keep it from overheating? I bought a few differently designed pads on Amazon and for the prices you gave I got about 3 or 4 in a pack. The reason I'm commenting on here is because I really love my steamer and have often wondered if you can use it on hardwood floors but am terrified to do so in fear of the wood lifting. Unfinished hardwood yes, I can understand - we have mostly tile but I am also dying to take it over to my niece's house - she has 4 little ones and mostly shiny hardwood which is only "swiffered" at best - sometimes. Would love to know ASAP - thanks!!
Thanks for the video, I have one I got without instructions, so I didnt know if it needed a cleaner in the tank or just water, also how to get the steam to come out. Both questions were answered!
It looks to me that the egdes from your hardwood floor are swollen and damaged? I have one since a few days but my floor is getting less clean then with cleaning with a traitional mop. I checked that with a wet tissue after cleaning. Also it looks to me that I am just spreading dirt without rinsing the pad? I decided to first clean with a mop and after that using the steamcleaner to disinfect the floor for my crawling baby grand daughter.
This is a great steam mop and review! I'm still using mine in 2019 (about to be 2020) and it still works like new. I even still have my original cloth pads. Don't forget to only use distilled water. 👍
Thanks for posting this informational video. I was wondering how a steam mop functions. Do you still used it now (2018). If not, what else do you use? I have a suggestion for a longer cord by using an extension cord. :)
I think I’m gonna pull the trigger! I have a cat and live in apartment with tile and I find that I have to mop even more now with the fur baby living with me
I just got one, and the newer model still does not have a long enough cord. Also this newer model doesn't require pumping to activate steam. Steam is controlled with a button. My problem I'm having is if I turn the steam level to scrub I don't really see steam come out like yours did. I wonder if mine is defective?
Kind of surreal to hear Avery in the back ground . When I first started watching your channel I believe she was 4 (think she had a bday already ) . So funny that you would never know that you were going to have twins ! Thanks for the review . Just got a New steam mop and wanted a review :)
I just bought one yesterday it's pretty easy to use but i feel my floor like sticky afterwards. you know the feeling when you do mop with dirty mop? any advice?
I kind of know what you are saying. I wouldn't necessarily say my floors feel sticky when they are clean but I would say I don't slide around as much if I'm wearing socks. If that makes sense! But I've noticed that the dirtier my floors are, the less "Sticky" they feel. So I take that little bit of sticky feeling as good - as in, my floor is clean.
Great video!! I want one now! To make the cord longer, just connect an extension cord and leave it connected and it looks like there's plenty of room on the cord hook to wrap it up to put away. Could be a game changer for you. Please let us know if you tried that.
I read that you said you clean your ceramic tile grout or lil indention in ther design separately. We have the same tile in our kitchen. Will you make a video on how you deep clean those two areas on the tile?
I know what you're saying! I've thought about that. But I also felt that when I had a traditional mop, even though I rang it out, I was still dipping in back in dirty water. I've been using this mop for some time and it's been work so far!
Would you say that this device (or maybe steam mops in general) can handle pretty dirty environments? I live in an apartment house with four other families and have to clean the entrance hall where everyone walks in and out with their dirty shoes every 2 to 4 weeks. Of course I would give the floor a sweep before that.
Hmmm, I don't know. I love my steam mop and it does a great job on my floors but as for high traffic areas, you might need a regular mop. The steam mop doesn't put off a ton of steam so that's why I'm thinking a regular mop would be better because you would be using water.
Jamie, I just bought one of these and have a dumb question? When you are mopping it seems like you have steam coming out from sides and underneath?? It looks like mine steams from the center and I can’t see hat I could have done wrong...Any suggestions? thanks a million
Hmmm, I'm not sure why we would have steam coming out of different places? My Shark Steam Mop is older so maybe that's why? I've had it for probably 8-9 years. I don't think it would make a difference as to how the steam comes out.
I usually wait a minute or two. I wouldn't say you have to wait for it to warm up but it definitely helps. A minute just allows the mop to get warm so it will really steam up.
I love my steam mop and I have the o ceder promist max spray mop and I love that to but I yous the bissell crosswave Tat is awesome on hardfloors it's a scrubber and vacuums up all the dirty water and leave the floor dry after I'm done
I had a shark years ago when I was single. When I moved in with my now husband I stopped using it. I don't really no why I did! I ended up tossing it out about a year ago since I had lost all of the components to it. Now I need another one! Don't you use yours in conjunction with the Bona cleaner? I didn't think you were supposed to use anything with them? Just personal preference?
I sometimes will just use the steam mop alone but then other times, when my floors are real dirty, I just like the added power of the cleaner. I've always read just not to put the cleaner INSIDE of the steam mop. So I just put water inside of the mop and squirt the cleaner directly on the floor. So you have the steam and the cleaner working together!
Tammy 4him not that you are happy that yours started acting up but at least it's an excuse to get a new one! 😉 I'm looking forward to that when my vacuum goes out! Haha
I would definitely buy it again! But since I bought it so long along, I probably would research other steam mops and see if a lot of people suggest anything else. I would be happy to purchase this mop again though!
OMG I was just looking for a video about this mop (just bought it from a friend) and then it came up on my subcribtion list. Awesome thank you! I looked at the Shark website and they just display the new models not the old ones. I have one question, when do you use the fluffy pad and when the other or does it even matter?
I don't think it really matters. I do think the fluffy pad does a little better of a job picking up dirt. Both pads do great but I typically use the fluffy one when my floors are super dirty! I'm glad you found my video! :)
Question to Jaime's Journey, if your floor is really dirty like crumbs of food etc. Do you have to sweep first or can you just use the steam mop? Please let me know. Thanks.
Interested in your 'con' comment about having to push it often to get the steam going. I have found this an extremely hard mop to push and am seriously thinking of buying another that doesn't take as much energy out of me as this one does. Saying that, I am not as young as you are, so maybe that's the difference!
I couldn't definitely see how that would be an issue for some people! It's something I can work through and doesn't outweigh the pros for me! But I think everyone is different!

I read that you said you clean your ceramic tile grout or lil indention in ther design separately. We have the same tile in our kitchen. Will you make a video on how you deep clean those two areas on the tile?
Can you add vinegar to the water.. or is water only recommended?
Water is only recommended!
Great video. Debating only because i feel like it pushes durt around. A traditional mop would be rung out in water. Any advice on that?
I know what you're saying! I've thought about that. But I also felt that when I had a traditional mop, even though I rang it out, I was still dipping in back in dirty water. I've been using this mop for some time and it's been work so far!
If my floor is dirty I mop it first and then steam it, its much cleaner this way, If i keep my floor steaming up often, I dont mop first.
Do you have to use distilled water
I do
Thank you, appreciate your review. Going to test one out today. Looks easy enough. Even for me. 😀
So how did it go? Do you like using it? Should I get one or not?
What kind of floors do you have? We are renovating and I love your floors.
Engineered hardwood flooring
I already bought one refurbished in a shop of second hand things and it doesn’t work well 😔😩.
I hope someone can respond lol but can you used it in engineering floor ???
My brochure says to not use bleach when cleaning the pads and hang to dry. Bleach will coat the pad.
Beverley Parkin I misread and thought you said “brother”
Would you say that this device (or maybe steam mops in general) can handle pretty dirty environments? I live in an apartment house with four other families and have to clean the entrance hall where everyone walks in and out with their dirty shoes every 2 to 4 weeks. Of course I would give the floor a sweep before that.
Hmmm, I don't know. I love my steam mop and it does a great job on my floors but as for high traffic areas, you might need a regular mop. The steam mop doesn't put off a ton of steam so that's why I'm thinking a regular mop would be better because you would be using water.
I’m really thankful for your help :) I guess it’s better to use it inside only then.
Will this wreck your hardwood floors or cause them to warp or anything due to the added heat/ steam?
I hasn't! I check with my floor manufacturer and they said I was able to use this type of steam mop on it!
Your floors are gorgeous!
Thank you!
Thanks for reviewing this product
I want to get a steam mop! thanks for the video! your home is lovely.
Kelly A thank you so much! Go get one! You won't regret it!
Do you sweep before you sweep?
Do you sweep before you steam, sorry typo?
Cool mop that’s the kind of steam mop that my grandma has
Jamie, I just bought one of these and have a dumb question? When you are mopping it seems like you have steam coming out from sides and underneath?? It looks like mine steams from the center and I can’t see hat I could have done wrong...Any suggestions? thanks a million
Hmmm, I'm not sure why we would have steam coming out of different places? My Shark Steam Mop is older so maybe that's why? I've had it for probably 8-9 years. I don't think it would make a difference as to how the steam comes out.
Can you use it on laminate wood floors?
I’m not sure. I checked with my floor manufacturer and they said I was allowed to use this mop on them
Do you have to wait to mop for the system to warm up or can you mop right away?
I usually wait a minute or two. I wouldn't say you have to wait for it to warm up but it definitely helps. A minute just allows the mop to get warm so it will really steam up.
Does this work on Pergo and if so does it leave streaks?
I'm not sure if it works on Prego but it doesn't leave streaks on my flooring!
I love my steam mop and I have the o ceder promist max spray mop and I love that to but I yous the bissell crosswave Tat is awesome on hardfloors it's a scrubber and vacuums up all the dirty water and leave the floor dry after I'm done
I’m 14, why am I watching this
So you're not useless like the majority of your generation
Makaveli ThaDon 😂😂😂
God forbid you will actually clean your room.
Because you are 14 and you should! Everyone needs to care and know about cleaning. The sooner you learn the better.
Because you probably walk on floors, right? Good to know how to care for things you use.
Do you have to sweep the floor before hand?
Yes i do!
Jamie's Journey great tip thanks!
Love mine! Had it forever and it just started acting up Sunday. We'll definitely be getting a new one 😉
Tammy 4him not that you are happy that yours started acting up but at least it's an excuse to get a new one! 😉 I'm looking forward to that when my vacuum goes out! Haha
How much does it cost? Thanks ⚘⚘⚘
My version is $80 but you can get a version that is cheaper too
@@JamiesJourney ok thank you
You should have 200,000 subscribers! You're videos are so good! Love them all❤️
You are too sweet! Thank you so much! :)
CAN USE LIKE PINE SOL OR OTHER CLEANING LIQUIDS
Not in the steam mop
@@JamiesJourney is it ok to put on the floor then use the steam mop
Would you say it’s tiring to mop with it ?
Definitely not! It's real easy to push!
If this mop would stop working would u buy it again or would u change to another type of mop
I would definitely buy it again! But since I bought it so long along, I probably would research other steam mops and see if a lot of people suggest anything else. I would be happy to purchase this mop again though!
Okay thanks I just order mines but the blue one I think is a newer version of this one
Thanks.
Hie do you pump it. Is there a button?
There’s no button you just have to pump it with your hand and it goes up and down
do you have engineered hardwood flooring
We do!
can u add other products other than water?
No, for the model I have, you aren’t supposed to!
Are u still using the same model ? If not, what are u using now?
I’m using the same model
Do you have laminate or hardwood?
Hardwood
Interested in your 'con' comment about having to push it often to get the steam going. I have found this an extremely hard mop to push and am seriously thinking of buying another that doesn't take as much energy out of me as this one does. Saying that, I am not as young as you are, so maybe that's the difference!
I couldn't definitely see how that would be an issue for some people! It's something I can work through and doesn't outweigh the pros for me! But I think everyone is different!
I cant get the water out 0:36
Do you sweep the floor before mopping?
I always do!
Love our Shark Steamer, and Cordless Vacuum !!!!! and Sweeper :-)
Yes! Shark products are great!
I love my steam mop…I have a husband, daughter & 4 dogs it a lot easier them mopping… I like the stringy cover better bc it scrubs better.
Lol lol here she is! Got a new subscriber. Thank you for your videos!!
Thank you for subscribing and watching!
My shark steam mop leaves streaks on my laminate flooring. Yes I do use distilled water too. How do you prevent streaks?
Yes, I use distilled water and no streaks a
@@JamiesJourney it must be my floor. It's too shiny of a laminate.
Does it work on carpet?
No
Is it certain u have to use distilled water
I don't!
Do you have a hard time with your cloth head covers fitting well? I guess mine have shrunk over time and are really hard to make stay on the mop head.
Yes, I do! I don't try them but she definitely seem to be getting a little smaller after so many years of use!
