If you want to build bigger calves, you have to work the lateral and medial head of the gastrocnemius as well as soleus muscle that lies underneath these two heads. I’m going to show you exactly how to do that.
To work the soleus,
do calf launchers (3 sets of 1 min)
To work the gastrocnemius,
do standing dumbbell calf raises (3 sets of 20 reps)
Point your toes outward to work the medial head. (3 sets of 20 reps)
Then Point your toes inward to work the lateral head. (3 sets of 20 reps)

"You just threw a lot of big words at me that I don't know the meaning of, so I'm just gonna take it as disrespect"
I would say we gotta run a fade... But this guy is pretty damn jacked 😂
You must also buy bang
Haha
Bruh it's just names of muscles , Very simple stuff
Take like that and dont brother US.
When I was a kid I had killer calfs mostly because the punishment in school was to hold the squat position for minutes. Now I just have killer beer belly.
Waiting for the "If you want killer beer belly" short
@@whirled_peas just drink beer duh
Squats don't build calves
@@Firm-Tofu-King they do if they made you raise your heel while holding position. Just to clarify it wasn't an exercise it was a punishment
@@Firm-Tofu-King sqattING can tho, as in the position
Always a perfect loop
Here's a simpler approach, do standing bodyweight calf raises till you pass out with calf pain. Repeat 7 times a week.
You're welcome 🤗
Bro I’ll get 1000 reps
But for the soleus you should do sitting calf raises
@@code5829 then ur doing it wrong. Go down completely into the stretch and hold it for two seconds, then go up to the maximum fast and hold it there as well for two seconds. Go down slowly and repeat it
@@code5829 shaq did 1000 a day
I didn't want to walk anywhere, anyway.
That was smooth
Perfect Transition
So nobody is going talk about the bang that is laying there in every single exercise lol
Sponsoring
Little product placement there for ya
I like playing I spy with it makes it fun I spy with my little eyes a sponsor
Hahahahahaha
Ya boys gotta eat
Careful with these exercises, jog or do some intense warmups 1st, achilles is prone to getting injured
I know what you mean, but if you keep active and your tendons are strong then you can go straight into it as long as you do a light weight for the first set and use good technique.
This is the one vid I have been searching for thx
Several research papers have found zero difference in foot placement in conjunction with standing calf raises.
Also those “calf launchers” zero flexion at the ankle means the soleus cannot be doing anything. This is a dogshit video
Lol nice bang placements
Love the way your shorts are made! Very well edited and planned, loop mode 🙌
This man's shorts is saving me some bucks on that personal trainer
Product placement spot on 😂
The way you put the bang is funny, I love it
Love these lil workout tips. It’s crazy how much you can learn from...... the internet.
Damn I sound old lol
Bro is just envy
@@Ytenjoer how?
Do warmups, cuz that's the achilles we talkin'
He looped that shit nice!👏🏾
Guys dont overcomplicate things, just do calve raises and seated calve raises...
Also, do not forget the tibialis anterior (not the bone, the muscle). It gives your calves an outer sweep like your quads therefore making it look bigger. Supposedly working this small muscle can prevent knee pain and shin-splits; correct me if I am wrong
How do u work tht muscle?
@@hobbleyopple3612 In my experience, tibial raises both seated and standing has built it; usually in the higher reps zone like 25-50 with bodyweight. However, you can do it weighted in the weighted stretch portion of the calf-raises (dorsiflexion usually). Just be careful when doing as you can be stretching the Achilles Tendon by mistaken if not correctly.
Secondly, what has worked wonders is walking on your heels with tibial raise. Think of it as walking off in your tippy-toes for the calves but in reverse; where your heel is grounded and toes pointing up in the air. For reps, you will do this by trips like doing a Farmers Walk, back and forth (No Weight). The trips-distance may vary from person. Yes, you can progress with it either by increasing walking distance or by trips.
I hope this answered your questions regarding the tiblias anterior. Feel free to ask more questions.
very true
and never forget to put that "bang" in every shot...
I like how he puts that bang container everywhere 😂
That loop is perfect.
Short and simple👌
The Soleus muscle only runs over the ankle joint, and attaches at the back of the Tibia and Fibula. The Gastrocnemius runs over both ankle- and knee joint. So Calf launchers do nothing for the Soleus, because the ankle is in a fixed position during this excercise. Calf launchers do work the Gastrocnenius however...
Finally someone with a brain. Embarrassing how someone can post fitness related content and so easily misguide people and they have no idea.
Thanks man
straight to the point. no bullshit
Medial head loks very nice on the calves
Nice this tips are helpful for me thank you
Nice loop 👍
That was the smoothest transition ever
You’re the best and here are reason to post workouts for people in gyms and at home you make sure to make a video for one muscle at a time and last you show use where the muscles are which is very helpful
Nice loop
can you do these exercises without the weights? is it still effective without the weights?
Bro i did without the weights and still cant fk*ng walk the next day 😂
This helped alot thanks
I wish I could save these videos
I’m glad I’m blessed with great genetics and my calves barely need working out to appear
Gonna do for my flat food
The perfect loop doesn’t ex-
Very informative videos ❤️
This man doesn't have leg fur
Fur😂
WOAH THAT TRANSITION
Bang? From the scam company of energy drink? Dude you need to pick another sponsor. Now all your advice seems sketchy.
No this info was really good. Besides, sometimes you just have to make your money how you can.
@@huggz7543 yeah, this guy should get rid of his sponsor because a commentator named mysteriosbluehat doesn't like it. What a joke
Agreed the guy in the hat is right lol he could say two plus two is four and we would still look at him with scrutiny lol
Bang drink, Bang T-shirt,GET YOUR CALVES BANGING 🤣🦵
You want bigger calves...?🤨 Get on your knees...and start praying 🙏
I’m so glad the gym I go to have a calf machine. It uses your body weight and you can still add more weights.
i think he’s sponsored by bang
If you want bigger calfs you have to work the calfs, yes.
my calves is natural big lmuscles its a gift for me no need to exercise
Y’all notice he got the Bang in every shot hahaha relaxxxxxx
Amazing
nice loop!
Calf launchers 😎
Pointing in or outwards doesnt matter, that is old info
Thank you so much💪🏻😎
The first movement ain't about soleus. The soleus extends the ankle(dorsiflexion) and gastrocnemius extends the ankle and flexes the knee. The first movement is quads. Your anchor point is toes and knee caps, then you flex and extend the knee. What extends the knee? Quads!!
Also, you cannot work out or inner head of gastrocnemius. They both work at the same time. If you wanna emphasize on thing what you CAN do is do seated and standing calf raises. Standing calf raises extends the knee and hence stretches the gastrocnemius and may contribute more to gastroc development. But overall just pick one calf exercise, be consistent and progress.
Go super heavy on seated and standing calf machine 7 times a week and Don’t worry about foot placement. Simple
Honestly, in my experience... Calves are one of those muscles that are a little too controlled by your genetics. Look at Arnold, he noticed his were too small, and stared working them out ardously, and they only grew a little bit. Even at the end of his career, they were still a little underdeveloped. I'd say, just like forearms, focus on the upper part of the limb, and don't worry too much about the bottom.
Bro what the heck are you saying, do you have any science to back this up lol?
@@nemesis2477 I thought it was explained very simply. Calves, in my personal experience, and in the people I have trained (in 24 years of P. T. experience), don't grow as much as the work you put into them (and conversely, they grow, despite the fact that you may not work them exclusively) . Not nearly as much as other muscles, like Pectorals, Triceps, Biceps, etc. They seem to be more prone to growing merely due to your own genetics, at their own pace and size, generically predetermined, than any work you can put into them.
Arnold, in his mid 20s, had a problem with his calves and he has been very vocal about it,( and there is a lot of video evidence) . So he trained them, in isolation, for years, and the best he could achieve, was probably in the late 80s. If you look at his calves around that time, they're still pretty small in ratio, to the rest of his physique.
There are several muscles that follow this same... "stubbornness", to grow, despite how much work you put into it (or to grow without you training them at all) With Forearms, a big number of professional bodybuilders, don't train them exclusively at all, but they have amazing forearms (a simple UA-cam search will show you this). I have not come across any journals about it, which only means there hasn't been any official, peer reviewed Studies about it. So, sure, this is purely anecdotal opinion, from me. Even now, in my 40s, and having been off training for about 5 years, my calves still look very nice, and I have not once trained them exclusively while bodybuilding.
If I find a medical journal or research, I'll post it on here.
@@nemesis2477 There's a link I'm trying to post. But UA-cam won't let me. It's a question on Quora, and some one posted a very good answer. The question is "Is it true that the reason some people can't grow forearms or calves is because they just don't have much of the muscle fibers present in those areas?", if you want to search for the article.
@@user-rh4fc2dg8e Haha you are getting your facts from Quora 😂. Thag solves the issue
@@nemesis2477 then tell us what's the fact smart ass
Some of this must be genetics for you...I've been doing exercises similar to these for years and my calves are toned but have not grown
Ballerinas: We don’t even have to try 😂
NO MORE BANG
I don't feel 'em during calf launchers
Run boy Run, and you bild all of that musclu
A subtle advert for "Bang"?
Usefull and important tips
Their exercise is good. it's always almost the same as the athlean x one
Brought to you by Bang!
Love this
loop fire ngl
Pointing your toes js just unnecessary ankle damage. There is no difference
Plus you really need to do full ROM, finish the exercise at the top and squeeze
Pretty please tell me the model and size of those savage kicks you are wearing in this video.
I can’t wait to snap my Achilles with that second exercise lmao
Standing calf raises will snap your Achilles?
What are you talking about you are actually strengthening your Achilles’ tendon so it’s the exact opposite and also if you think that is going to snap your Achilles which exercise would you do then?
I literally do that exercise, it's perfectly fine and really burns the calves.
I will pay you 1 million dollars if you can snap you achilles doing literally anything. It’s the strongest fucking tendon
The calf launchers do not work the soleus, but the gastroc though. When you do a knee flexion, you your hamstring and your gastroc because they both cross the knee but the soleus only articulation the soleus crosses is the ankle. And that's what a calf launcher is, the excentric part of a knee flexion like a Nordic hamstring curl. To work the soleus, you need to have your knees bent AND to push your heels up.
@jessejameswest needs to see this 👀😂
Running is great for calves
I didn’t even realize the loop
guys I think he *might* be sponsored by bang
Bro this burnsss (im a begginer)
All you need are standing calf raises and tibial raises
I have nice calves, guys in the gym asked me to exchange legs with them 😅
athleanx workout 👀
They contract isometrically brother, which means they can't be isolated.
I under stand were your coming from but you need to do a vid on how to stretch The muscles because if you work out and don’t stretch them out before or after the can be a lot of problems
You wanna build insane calves? Single leg uphill jumps for a distance.
Guys 50 - 100 max calf raises a day is enough you'll see the results in a month or two
The L- sit its so easy to do
They just makin up muscles now
Do do a few hundred star jumps.work upto to a thousand there isn't a calf ache like it
How you do star jump
And if you want to work your heart, take bang
Nobody talking about how this man says gastrocnemius?
Everyday I did this
Nice bang sponsor
I have pretty good calves from speed walking 4km from school to home
That was great advertising
Nice
I think he might be sponsored by bang
In case you didn't know who sponsors this guy😂
Still going too fast. Once you hit the top, lift your ankles even higher. That extra forced lift = widening/bulking of the calves.
I wonder how much a bang sponsorship is
