My grandfather introduced me to this film, said he took my grandmother to go see this one year before they got married. I'll forever be grateful to him for introducing me to this. Before "The Exorcist," this is my favorite film of the 1970's. God, I wish I could've experienced that decade, and the 80's too! But by far, "Jaws" is my favorite.
If I didn't see the title, I would have thought I was listening to Star Wars music when it started. But it is interesting and nice to hear that there's more than just the Da Da, Da Da, Jaws theme, Out to Sea, and the Shark Cage Fugue, to the score, it's very atmospheric.
Ah Jaws, the best movie of all summer blockbusters. I plan on moving to Martha's Vineyard. That's were they filmed Jaws! I still think it's a good movie to this day...
dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me atm you can watch all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my brother these days =)
"Every time I fell asleep, I dreamt I was on the third or fourth day of shooting, I’d wake up with an electrical explosion in my brain, my heart beating, can’t catch my breath, looking around the room, 'Where am I?', disoriented. I calm down, get a glass of water, go back to sleep again. Same dream, I’m on the fourth day of shooting. And I know I’ve got a, you know, hundred and forty-six days left. And I wake up again, same thing. And this thing was haunting me all night long, until I didn’t get any sleep. So, you know, Jaws was a fun movie to watch, but not a fun movie to make. It was an amazing experience for me under the worst of conditions and, sometimes, very sweet conditions -- but most of the time, under the worst conditions." -Steven Spielberg
It is a scherzo. This musical form was invented by Ludwig Van Beethoven and Williams has used it in numerous films, such as "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", "Star Wars VII The Force Awakens", or" Tin Tin, The Secret of the Unicorn".
Awesome video! My group, Filmharmonic Brass (based in NYC) is going to be recording this and other John Williams compositions on our new album. You may be interested in checking it out:

Very well done in terms of editing pieces together in a suite. I love the score and I love the editing choices you made.

@6:13 to @6:42 is the best part of the score!

I'd love to hear it played by a good piano player.
4:29 wonderful
Une excellente interprétation. Il serait bien de connaître le nom de l'orchestre.
