- I've always loved the "Psycho" score, but the mono soundtrack is sorely lacking. The new Bluray includes simulated stereo, but here is the faithful Danny Elfman CD synched to the shower scene.

Hitchcock used melons to get the stabbing sound just right. Pretty cool.
how do ya know mellons were used?
They thought this was too brutal to be shown to the public. Now we see guts flying all over the place. Love these oldies and Janet leigh was so pretty!
Yeah, that's what inspired the project - I just had to lay Danny over the Blu-ray sound effects.
How have you deleted the old music?
Did you take from the dvd the extra that comes without the music? The stabbing sounds are higher, it's frightening!!! Or maybe because i'm listening it with headphones. Once again, great job!

I was not impressed with this "stereo" version. The level of the screechy violins has been deadened. The entire impact of the scene is based on the high-pitch "screech" of the strings. Bernard Hermann planned it that way.
Sounds like you will automatically hate any version other than the original. Danny Elfman did an extraordinary job with this recording.
