I love neutral colors, white, creams, and very light colors. My bed was the most expensive purchase $700.00 and to many that's not expensive, but too me, yes! It was expensive. The two pictures came from Home Goods @$24.99 each, everything else was brought from goodwill. I can honestly say I've spent less than $1,000.00 on my beautiful bedroom.

I spent $10,000 I had my bed made because I wanted carvings in the wood. It was custom made. It last forever. It is very heavy. I had it over 12 years.
My complete bedroom was a little over 7K total. Purchased bed, adjustable base, mattress and 2 nightstands from Haverty Furniture. 2 Accent chairs, floor mirror and other bedroom decor from Homegoods. Everything was on sale or clearance.

I agree 100% about taking your time. I saw you do that at your previous residence. I personally hate press/chipboard/MDF furniture because they don't last. I believe that the furniture in your house should be just as much an investment as the house itself. This is why when I moved I didn't have to buy a thing. My things are either antiques (Inherited) or well-made pieces like my living room set. I just have to change the cushions I want a different fabric.

i put together a pallet bed, and a rot iron head broad and got an expensive form get queen size mattress, and it is the most comfortable bed i have ever had...my aches and pains are gone i am well rested. now i will invest in pillows when i can find the right ones. most of my apt is DIy's because i am on a very low budget. however, if i won the lottery tomorrow i won't give up my pallet bed...my whole apt and patio cost around 1500 dollars if that much and i am loving it...
