Always loved Billie Burke. Most people know her for her comic rolls but she was just as adept at playing heavy drama. I think she really should have been nominated for an Oscar in the 1932 film "A Bill of Divorcement" for her touching portrayal of the wife of a mentally ill husband, played by John Barrymore who just escaped a mental asylum. Her anguish and conflict between a new love who wants to marry her and give her a normal happy life, and the loyalty she has for her husband, even though life with him would be nightmarish, is heartbreaking. This film has Katherine Hepburn in her first screen appearance as the daughter. Interesting to note that MGM made a film about Burke and her husband Ziegfeld, called "The Great Ziegfeld" with William Powell and Myrna Loy in the lead parts.
