DEAR COMRADES! - Official Trailer

- When the communist government raises food prices in 1962, the rebellious workers from the small industrial town of Novocherkassk go on strike. The massacre which then ensues is seen through the eyes of a devout party activist. Dear Comrades! received critical praise out of the Venice Film Festival, with Variety calling it “scintillating” and “meticulous and majestic, epic in scope and tattoo-needle intimate in effect,” and The Playlist describing it as “a fascinating blend of dark satire and bleak archaeology.”
Directed by Andrei Konchalovsky
Written by Andrei Konchalovsky and Elena Kiseleva
Starring Julia Vysotskaya, Vladislav Komarov, Andrei Gusev, Yulia Burova and Sergei Erlish - Фільми й анімація
1:36 "How am I supposed to forget this?" Dang, this hits hard-- looks fantastic.
About to watch this. Looks like a phenomenal film.
Just watched this movie in IFFK. Loved it💕
Is there any place to watch rent this movie in Canada?
What is the hymn that plays in the background of this trailer?
Don’t you mean, the “her” playing in the background? 😏
Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture
Im scared, if the new yorker says is good usually means is really bad, or maybe they love to see URSS was super bad. Anyways, Im gonna watch it, Russia lately is making pretty good movies.
It was a real history, Americans must learn from it. There is nothing more similar to a communist than a democrat.
I've just finished watching it...
Great movie ❤
Wish I knew what that hymn was. Gorgeous.
Does anybody know the hymn??? I already tried contacting Neon about it
@@logatronz If they reply could you let us know here? Thanks!
@Ann A Sorry, we're asking about the hymn in the second half, not the march in the first. Thanks, though!
I too would like to know the hymn. It's beautiful!
The hymn is from Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture
All I can say is, "WOW!" I wonder where it may be playing in full feature, and not just a video clip.
Amazon is streaming it.
HULU
Curzon has got it
"If I don't believe in communism, in what am I going to believe?"

In anti-communist propaganda movies, obviously.
@@ioioiotu communism is anti communist propaganda enough
@@aaronrodriguez7350 Tell that to the CIA.
@@ioioiotu the CIA and China worked together..... yes you can imagine the irony of the CIA funding communist groups, but remember they did funded the Taliban, so hating the CIA will never make you pro-communist, if anything it just makes you MORE right wing. Remember: the CIA created the words “Conspiracy theory” to silence critics
@@asscheeks3212 Hating the CIA doesn't make you a pro-communist, but if you are a pro-communist you can't hate the CIA who staged dozens of coups against socialist leaders. It sure as hell doesn't make you right wing.
can anyone ID the songs used in the trailer?

Funny irony not in America (Supposedly the land of the free) but in England, Russia or France these films are made representing tragic and controversial parts of history relevant to others a lot more than here.
Hahahahaha, from the point of view of a modern Russian, what you consider to be an emotion or a plot in modern films is a wretched auteur cinema. The last controversial historical movie with a really worked out plot was filmed in the early 90s. What is being filmed now is just an anti-communist agitation in the most idiotic form, which for some reason Western viewers consider absolutely normal
Yea this looks like capitalist propaganda
@@DVXDemetrivs you do realize communists hate each other and even work with the CIA right?

From the director of Tango and Cash...yes, the 80s Stallone-Kurt Russell flick.
I heard he disowned the movie.
Konchalovsky is a legend of Soviet/Russian cinema and has directed many acclaimed movies. I wouldn't reduce him to Tango & Cash.
The ending reminded me of The Hangover 😂

@Pasquale Gelardi very dumb statement.
@@circularsky No, I would say a very TRUE statement!!!
@@TheDaga76 I was referring to the protests against Putin over his latest poisoning hijinks and how they relate to this film.
@@TheDaga76 no it's not, socialism works, capitalism has shown to be a true failure just look around the US, mass poverty, bread lines(which they said only happened in "socialist countries" all these things the US claims happens in socialist countries is actually happening in capitalist countries, it's always been a lie to try and demonize communism, socialism
@@SilverNrGy985 uh huh, that’s why every communist nation is reduced to capitalist tactics, or end up working with the CIA (take Trotsky or China for example) to take down their former “comrades”. please spare me the lies, communists and the CIA shared a lot of things with each other, both metaphorically and real life.
Brilliant film of socialism gone rotten.
Any system with corrupt government goes to shit
Actually, this is a small part of the story. The people of the South were suffering for centuries from the Russian government. It is adviced to watch the movie "And Quiet Flows the Don" to understand the history better. The consequences of 1962 are felt to these days. More factories were built and locals suffer from environmental pollution, oncological deseases, genetical disorders in newborns.
Come on, I was in Rostov and Starocherkask in September, the region is prosperous and relaxed, full of life, very enjoyable.
lol
I want to watch some American movies where they show how government did some experiments on its own population, or how they were sterilizing "bad" people .
Speechless. Watched it last year and now I’m back due to the devastating reality of today 💙💛 #ukraine
0:50 Stalin's portraits among Workers ❤️❤️❤️
How did this director go from 0% to 95% on Rotten Tomatoes?!
He has directed many acclaimed movies lol.
Konchalovskiy is one of a kind. He is not in the in the business/ industry. He is an artist.
Before paying to watch this movie or buying it beware that a sponsor of this movie is a dodgy Russian businessman who is involved in different corruption scandals. Also the film director is flirting with a current repressive regime in Russia.
This is an excellent film. Watch it! I am a lefty. It is very critical and a good warning to Trumpites who believe nonsense.
To me it's more warning to Lefties. Censorship now is worse than in USSR !!! Economy going down - but the party saying everything is fine. AOC is a Marxist, as many others Dems. You can't talk about election, you can't talk about vaccine (adverse reactions). Blm burning federal buildings it's fine, Maga people entered federal building and got arrested.

Я не ожидал от Кончаловского увидеть такой бред и фуфло. Испоганить фильмом действительные события за которые и поплатился потом пакостник Хрущев.
