I've heard other soprano singing this piece of Lucia de Lamermoor: Caballé, Callas, etc., but liked Inva Mula's voice the most. The sweetest voice, and the most adequate for this masterpiece. The 2nd part of this part of movie track, it's just awesome and addictive.
I’ve got to agree. I’ve listened to just about every other version of this scene, and it seems to me that some ladies are geared for this piece, and some aren’t. The depth, power and control she displayed while simultaneously having just a touch of smoothness with no sense of strain or overwork put her right at the top for this piece.
The scene in the film where we see this song performed is the centrepiece of the whole film for me...the heartbreaking song with the stunning visuals and then turning from mourning into kicking ass is just a true artwork
Ethereal. This is why we all came here. I could not belive a human could actually sing this. I have heard many other versions but Inva Mula seems to sing this the best.
I know this song since 20 years, heard it hundreds of times, and I still get goosebumps. Inva Mula's voice is from another dimension, crystal clear and pure and it melts heart and mind.
I agree with you. Her voice is amazing. I am Brazilian and I understand something of the song because Italian is similar to Portuguese. It's wonderful always listen to this song and I feel in heaven. She is an angel.❤❤❤❤
I dont think I have ever heard a human that could sing like this... absolutely astonishing and breathtaking until the very end... I think I want to go to the opera now!😳😂

Absolutamente impresionante y perfecta!!! Bellisima!! Tiene una voz extraordinaria fuera de este mundo!! La mejor intérprete de esta pieza!! Me fascina! Bravo!!! ❤
This woman has the most amazing voice I have ever heard. Soft and clear and powerful all at once. I love that she uses very little vibrato throughout. Normally can't stand female arias, usually sounds like shrieking to my ears, but this is angelic.
boy i HATE vibrato and its excessive use in female opera. finally someone sharing that opinion. it just sounds like they can't stay in tune properly and therefore smash in neverending vibrato. but this is different :) Love this.
obviously you dont know anything about this genre of music. we dont call it vibratto in opera we use trill meaning 2 notes sung interchangeably in a very fast rate. its a form of ornamentation and the composer will indicate it in the sheet music whether or not to put them. its a very difficult technique and the trill can even amplify the emotion that the song want to convey,,, not staying in tune properly? that just shows how illiterate you are of music. these singers will never stand and sing on stage paid not mastering their roles and arias...
just because it is difficult and they have to do it because it is written into the piece doesn't mean that people are not allowed to think it sounds awful. i personally prefer a lovely clear single note to that awful caterwauling and find people with a huge vocal range and the ability to quickly and cleanly change between 2 notes lovely. also this singer is an opera singer so of course she has stood on stage and got paid to sing! it is just that this song is appreciated by people like me who find a trill to be like nails on a chalkboard
Even up to now as Inva Mula ages at 58 I bet she can still slay this song. I know as human ages their vocal changes maturely as they age. But I saw her live when she was in her late 40's she can still slay this song. She's still one of my top favorites, next in rank would be Vitas.
I surely consider that this voice deserves all the interest from the public and should have a millionaire contract, (I wish her that). I am so fed up with people who has no talent like Britney Spears or others who have nothing . This girl INVA MULA IS ONE OF THE GREATEST!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your voice to the world.!!!!
Es mucho con demasiado, es insuperable, no importa cuanto tiempo haya pasado, cada vez que escucho esta canción es como si fuera la primera vez. Como me gustaría tener una voz semejante!

There's no mistaken this is my favorite for this song, Period. I have heard many try this, and still the best.❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely unforgettable. Her voice & spirit adds an otherworldly, pained angelic, broken absolution & a light neptunian quality, yet down to earth in ease & confidence... so emotional & fitting the disappointment & sadness that Maiwenn says she saw and brought into her portrayal of the Diva character. Like rain, then powerful & searching lightning.

@Nicole ”Inva Mula (born 27 June 1963 in Tirana, Albania ) is an Albanian opera lyric soprano. She began her soprano career at a very early age. Her father (Avni Mula) and mother (Nina Mula [sq]) were also opera singers. She is also known for providing the voice of the diva Plavalaguna in the film The Fifth Element.”
Yes Englishman! We are very proud with our lady Inva Mula. She is a great Talent and for me the best of the World. She is albanian girl and is multitalent. She is a very nice girl too.
This recording is almost unbelievable to me. The purity and delicacy coupled with her phrasing is easily almost perfect... and she is extremely beautiful...
I think the best part of the whole song is the last minute or so. Her scales are just amazing! I wonder how easily and smoothly she jumps from a high note to a low note. Beautiful!
Thats because its done by computer. Inva sang the notes one by one, and a computer strung them together. It explains the method in the DVD version of the film. But NO human could possibly do that jump so cleanly.
The only spots where a computer aided it was around 4:16-18 where it almost sounds like a flute rapid firing notes. That's were a keyboard with her singing the notes mapped to the keys fires off the notes. The high to low is her and has been done live before. damn.com/girl-sing-5th-element/ this young girl from Russia pulls it off, just not the rapid note roll that was keyboard aided.
@@jonathanalbee8127 The super-low note at 4:22 is clearly not a natural sound, it's definitely computerized, and when you listen to all those who've attempted to cover this (including the girl in your link@, absolutely no one manages to sing this particular note.
WOW !!! Her range of low to high notes is beautiful, wondrous. They really didn't need to make changes to her singing at all. It's so great as it is. Thank Inva Mula for sharing you gift of song to all of us.
Lucia di Lammermoor is my absolute favorite. The Sweet Sound indeed. Great scene too, all covered in blood and delusional. Ahhhhh, I love Italians. And Albanians. ;3

Inva Mula's interpretation of this wonderful aria is one of the most beautiful ones I've heard so far. Her lyric soprano is just stunning. I'm just a bit disturbed by so many people talking about "The opera from The Fifth Element" - this is utter nonsense. The opera is called "Lucia di Lammermoor" composed by Gaetano Donizetti who is clearly turning in his grave at 3:15.
To be fair, most people do not know this because they may not listen to Opera on a regular basis. Wee it not for the movie, they would have never known this was a very old aria. Inva performs it beautifully though! It's even better without the part from the movie added at the end.
I’m English , but , Albania , you should be proud to have this lady . So so talented . Beautiful voice
