I bought this car a few days ago and test drove in an area near dealer where the roads were pretty rough and it was fine. Drove it home and the roads are much worse near home and it was pretty bad, started having buyer remorse,, it was loud and rough. Thought about it check the tire pressure and found all the tires were at 47 psi from the dealer, spec say 35 front and 32 rear. I let a ton of air out and much much better. Good little car, with may tech options. Drive good for a good price.
$21,000 Chevy Trax is the best deal on the market. Biggest bang for the buck. I have almost 90,000 miles on mine after one year and the vehicle runs and feels like it just got picked up at the dealership. Chevrolet finally got something right. Especially in this economic depression we are in.
@@kilroy987 transportation use. Running roughly 300 to 500 miles per day. One of the best vehicles I’ve used for transport during 27 years!! It’s solid!!!
I agree that "bang-for-the-buck" is Trax's selling point. Nice A-to-B vehicle with simple controls (at least for the LS), storage space, and above-average fuel economy. I couldn't find a decent used SUV/crossover for less than the price of a new Trax last year. So it seems the Trax was Chevy's response to the used car shortage. I just wish they were able to offer it a couple of years earlier, but things take time.
Just got to replace that timing Belt before 80,000 miles, and carbon buildup before 40,000 miles, and have a better clip installed and replace,on the parking brake cable underneath the body, and that will help with reliability. Also, warm up the car, a minute or three prior to driving, and cool down the Turbo, by idling a minute or two prior to shut off, and those are the main issues
@@ronniewilliams3691 it has 2 wet belts and the change interval is 150,000 miles. I wouldn’t wait that long but somewhere in the 135,000 mile range would probably be safe. If it breaks before then, it would be a free replacement by GM. I am not sure if it is an interference motor or not.
How much room is there (specifically leg room) for a 6'5" person? I do like the look, the options as well. I do wish it has three items... 1. Coverage under the engine from road debris (possibly someone can create an after market option for that), 2. Rear vents (this is a killer but being the volume isn't an Expedition, maybe it's ok) and 3, Softer arm rests (specifically the door.. I see a lot of these upstate ny, I have the 2024 lt model, heated stuff is nice. Good tires and you will be fine in the winter. High enough clearance. Awd is nice but never really needed it in my area.
Love the clarity, and you highlighted the main maintenance points! I really want one, but will be a stickler on maintenance! Direct injection and Turbo on a small ( not tiny) motor, doesn't scream reliability. But, I will create a special savings account just for maintenance!
change your oil every 5000-7500 miles and set aside $$ to replace the turbo right outside the 60K warranty. Would like to hear how many miles you get on it before changing the timing belt in oil design.....GM says 150K but it usually happens around 90K
I’m looking at this same one but a few things i’m trying to decide if i want to live without. no a/c vents in the back seat, no power hatch door and no way to open from the inside, no cup holders in the back seat.. it’s so pretty though
