i'd like to add: "...and someone with good practical skills to put it into action". Reminds me of Erwin ENTJ, Hange ENTP and Levi ISTP from attack on titan. works amazingly
@@bibitiptoes1473 Not really, INTPs don't possess the need or desire to control the external environment which is a a central component of what makes INTJ a mastermind.
This made me laugh out loud. As an ENTP who met and starting working with an ENTP mentor at work, this is exactly right - exactly how I think of him. In general, I found this video to be very accurate. Really enjoyed it!
ENTPs are kinds of people I aspire to be. I admire them for how outgoing, charismatic and quick-thinking they are. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with them. ~ INTJ
Many of my favorite people are INTJs - I'm energized by their intensity, rather than put off by it, and I love that I can surprise them with a new idea, and then in turn have my mind completely blown by their immediate, expansive, slightly-twisted-off-course take on my flashes of insight making them better and more fun or complete. 🤩 - ENTP
entp here. i love inxjs so much. my mom is an intj. my brother and girlfriend are both infjs. a good female friend of mine is another intj. they’re awesome because they both can plan and stay organized and they are top caliber thinkers (intj) or super lovable people (infj)
I’m an ENTP and my father is an ESTJ. My father found that the best way to raise me was to give me a rule, and then give me every logical reason for why that rule was put in place. He never answered any of my questions with “because I said so”. If there was no good reason for something, I wouldn’t listen. Since he raised me in this way, I was able to see the reasoning behind his rules, and I found the value in them as well. My father and I get along really well, but I still won’t do anything unless there’s a good reason behind it.
I'm an INFJ, and I really like ENTPs. They have a familiar expansive way of thinking, they are never weirded out if I make strange connections between ideas across space and time, they are making their own weird connections. I also like that ENTPs aren't freaked out by the dark side of INFJ thinking. I also like them because even though they tend to come across as maybe sort of mildly anti-social in a troll way, it's easy for me to see that they are in their own way actually very pro-social. Basically I find them smart, funny, interesting and nice, even though I know (and understand why) some other types would scoff at the idea of them being "nice". They're among my favorite people to hang out with.
INFJ too, I have an uncle who I strongly suspect is ENTP. He's really fun, has a great sense of humor, and has broadly been accepted by family as 'addicted to arguing/trolling, but never means any harm'. We all know he's just like that. Even if he stresses someone out, the non-personal nature of it makes it a lot easier to approach afterward and let him know the stress isn't a personal knock on him either. Debating with him is safe in a way. Love the guy to bits and have had some really good conversations with him. Some of his ideas are a bit weird and I don't agree with everything, but I do know he's thought about them a lot and respect that.
It is a weird bond. I don't like the judgement and narrowing of ideas that INFJs bring to the table. But I respect it. I like that they know what they want and who they are. I like that they are pro-self growth. I think the parts of them I hate the most are how they handle, or don't handle, conflict. I learn through conflict. I grow through conflict. As an ENTP, that's what I'm about. I don't expect an INFJ to like it, but I do expect them to acknowledge it. But they don't. And they wont. And that will always be a bone of contention between the two types. It would take a very mature ENTP and INFJ to mitigate that looming disaster. Conversely, the ENTP needs to acknowledge how often and long an INFJ needs to hibernate.
As an ENTP I love INFJ’s because their intelligence is a mystery that I don’t quite understand, but I want to. INFJ is ground me to my emotions and remind me to be sensitive. ENTPINFJ is the best combination that exists
The problem I have is that ENTPs like my INFJ dark side more than I do actually. So I like the fact that I can express it with them but I don't like that they encourage me to do so. They love the most what I hate the most about myself so this is a bit disturbing. But I guess they could say the same about me, that I like the most their emotional side they most likely like the least. That's a very interesting problematic to think about I believe.
There can be a similar dynamic between ENTJ and INTP as well. I think such pairings tend to enable the other person to indulge in their base natures without forcing them to seek improvement. Like a powerful dynamic duo that can be near unstoppable, and that power can be corrupting.
I’m an ENFP and my sister is an ENTP and nobody in the world understands me as much as her. She does think I’m too emotional and sometimes, I think she’s a psychopath, but we get along perfectly.
The INTP one, as an ENTP with an INTP best friend, was scarily accurate. whenever i have to describe him, especially in terms of MBTI, it's "he's me, but introverted"
Shocking, as that's literally the definition of INTP. I think it's maybe that way moreso than the other types because INTPs are considered the most introverted introvert. ISFJs on the other hand often seem like extroverts.
This is so accurate about me. I'm beginning to really value the accuracy of these personality types. I've been told I'm just ADHD that has masked his whole life. But, I always felt this was just an effort to make a buyer out of me to potential dangerous pharmaceuticals. I don't trust them and know I've met people who don't make me feel like I'm just on the Autistic spectrum, but rather I have a personality type that is hard to get along with from time to time for my effort to instigate dialogue that encourages debate.
I (ENTP) have a close ISTP friend and it's not always like how he said it to be in the video. ISTPs think whatever they belive in to be right and for you to just accept that as fact, because they said it. They have this resistance towards thinking about possibilities and different paths a situation could lead to. A good thing about ISTPs is that they can get angry easily which is fun sometimes. But don't get me wrong, i love ISTPs because of how stubborn and rough they are but they are also so sweet and nice
My ENTP husband accepts my ISTP self as I am, and gives me the space I need. Naturally I do the same for him, it's a great partnership. He finds our INFP teen an absolute puzzle, however, that he's always trying to solve, sometimes miserably. Come to think of it, I think he sees all humans as puzzles to be solved.
INFPs are rough. And they are a nightmare as teens. Nothing more destructive to a, " I KNOW WHO AND WHAT I AM" like a hormone filled bananza of social and inner acceptance in a fast-paced world. yeeeeeshhh Poor bastard.
I'll tell you this....if he spends time just being charming AF around his INFP teen....they will hero worship the man. Which is crack to an ENTP. My wife loves to tell me stories about her ENTP dad. She never loved the man more than as a teenager...where he'd pick her up on his motorcycle and take her out to have some coffee and talk about whatever. Made her feel like an adult. Which is crack for an INFP.
INFP boys are easy to understand and are insulted by any insinuation that they are at all puzzling. The other commenter has the facts and the solution exactly correct. FWIW, of my five kids, we get on the best. And yes we go out and do things as two adults.
The one thing that is really tough about the INFP is when they get it in their head that they don't want to do something, or think about something. They can become very stubborn. To an ENTP that can be very frustrating as we need to experiment, find the weaknesses and strengths in a plan or idea. Being told NO without explanation can be maddening. The other thing is we love solving the riddle of who someone is and INFP's tend to hate giving away their true selves. This leads to an almost battle of wills to see who will crack first. Will the INFP keep drip feeding us the information we crave or will we get bored of trying.
@Ed Mann My husband and kid engage in a battle of wills over almost EVERYTHING. In the middle of lockdown I actually shut myself in a closet at least twice, to get away. It's very tiresome.
@@peterdsane5687 Gus could be either ISTJ or INTJ. Personally, I see no appeal to tradition in him, but I do see a want for improvement. Thus, I think INTJ suits him better (Ba-Dum TISH). Mike, on the other hand, is VERY clearly an ISTJ - evident by the car he’s driving, the rifle he chose (tried and true battle tested), and his comments about how Gus’ operation was fine just the way it was and “Running like clockwork”.
INFJ here, ENTPs are downright one of my most favorite types. Especially if the both of us are mature, empathetic and respectful in our relationship/friendship. But also in terms of historical individuals (philosophers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, actors, comedians, writers, etc) and entertainment characters in various types of fiction (tv, movies, cartoons/animation, UA-camrs, video games, etc.) While they may not “get” they insane, ineffable nature of Ni-doms/Heroes (like other INJs for example), they are insanely adept at pattern/concept recognition and able to deconstruct them in ways INFJs find absolutely fascinating with their Ne/Ti. We both can keep up with each other intellectually, INFJs through depth of topics/subjects/knowledge, and ENTPs through sheer breadth of said topics/subjects knowledge, always learning from one another all the time about virtually anything and everything. While people say INJs are known for coming up with “out of this world” ways of thinking / viewing various matters as Ni-Doms, I don’t think ENTPs (and especially ENFPs) ever get the same amount of credit/recognition with their very high use of Ne. It’s unbelievable. Just look at ENTP polymaths such as Da Vinci and John Von Neumann, or the work from writers such as Palahniuk, David Foster Wallace, Bertrand Russell and Foucault, even to famous scientists such as renowned quantum physicist Richard Feynman to even famous UA-camrs such as Adam Neely and Anthony “Melon” Fantano. There’s definitely a playful aura of one-upsmanship between the two types, but never taken seriously intentionally. Imagine if Dumbledore [INFJ] from HP and Rick Sanchez [ENTP] from R&M were genuinely best friends with one another. That’s kind of like relationship dynamic I get with ENTPs. I like ‘em a lot. And legitimately am able to understand them for the people they are. They are natural agents of chaos and deviously whimsical iconoclasts, it’s just their nature. But it’s this nature that’s given humanity some of the most revolutionary, innovative concepts and ideas that have shaped everything in life as we’ve come to know it-from science, philosophy, technology, literature, film, art, you name it-we’ve ever seen, there’s no denying that, and we have ENTPs to thank for it too. Thanks guys. - Fellow INFJ | 2:20 |
INFJ here too, ENTPs are the best kind of outside-the-box thinkers to me so I basically agree with this whole entire thing. If I had a "Top 3 MBTI types I adore", I can assure you ENTP would be there.
14:15 My best friend is an ENTJ while I am an ENTP and I can confirm there is an underlying competitiveness there. 😂 But it’s great to have someone on a similar wavelength to you and have conversations that you couldn’t have with other MBTI types.
As an ENFP, I love ENTPs. Excellent partners in adventure as you described it, we often share a liking for word play and quick thought, sharp humour, and we can have really interesting, often deep conversations about almost every subject!
High Fe ENTP here. ENFPs being our best partner in adventure is 100% accurate. My two best friends are ENFPs and we have traveled the world together. Our planning skills are absolute shit but the spontenaity is part of the fun ;) Excellent video as always, Nate and happy NYE!
@@AnyaAnnika67 Thanks for your comment, appreciate the luv. I've checked out CPT and saw his great video on the ENTP empath. Definitely resonated with a lot of what he said. What you mention about auxiliary being Fe is very interesting, I never could understand how his personality system works but you just explained it very succinctly, so thank you!
I liked so much what you said about the ENTP-ISTP fictional characters! Made me think of the protagonists from the Thunderbolt fantasy series. Shang Bu Huan (ISTP) and Lin Xue Ya (ENTP), I love these two!!
How is every single one of your videos so spot on and elaborate??? I love your choice of words and the way that you explain things + I admire your structured approach a lot! - entp
Entp here. My experience with ESTJ and ENTJ are very close to what you described. I admire ESTJ for their results, but on the other hand... wtf is wrong with them to be soooo focused on career and usually very serious about stuff in general. I envy ENTJ because they are like ENTP but more ESTJish - they keep their direction and set goals. This is like a difference of choice. Both ENTP and ENTJ are aware of the absurdity of life, but ENTP conculdes that it's more about people and fun and experiences and creativity; when ENTJ stays in the life game of power, status and achievements. This is btw quite interesting dissonance from the ENTP's perspective.
My best friend is ENTJ. Always envied his drive and commitment. He legit valued my insights. So he was always the brawn, and I was the brains. Lethal team. But I never thought he was dumb, and he never thought I was weak. Mostly because he got my lazy ass to work out, and I pushed him to really think about his ideas before he committed. The competition aspect is beyond real. I wouldn't do a sit up to save my own mothers life. But if I could sneak in a few...and i'm not exaggerating...1,000 push ups in a weeks time to get a leg up on this juicing machine because he was out sick....hell yea imma do it.
I married an ESTJ and ended up with an ENTJ oldest kid. It's hilarious when both of us are trying to help her use her powers for good instead of evil, but we have - not opposite exactly, but off-kilter - takes on what that looks like and how to get there. 😉 If she can learn from both of us, she'll take over the world!
Absolutely agree with this. But I would say that, having married an ENTJ and had long conversations about all of this, it’s not that great to be an ENTJ, regardless of how it seems.
@@alisonkrueger7865 Of course. ENTJ seems tensed all the time. Impose on themselves very high expectations. Sometimes ENTPs do this as well, but... not all the time
As an ESTJ I'm surprised when people really enjoy learning and school but I'm not bothered that they do. As a kid I did well in school but got bored and looked forward to being done and starting my career. I care about my job as an event planner just because I enjoy events and serving others and working and being productive. It is weird but I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with it.
I love what you said about INTJs. I'm an ENTP who happens to have grown up with an INTJ. He's my brother, and he's one year younger than me. The intellectual camaraderie mentioned in this video is something that was fostered between us over time; we clashed on a constant basis as young children. It was beyond interesting to observe our mirrored personalities grow to appreciate one another over the years, and I couldn't have asked for a more fitting and beneficial type to grow up alongside. He's been a seminal part of my development as a human.
me: ENTP girl father: ISTJ aka my safety net mother: INFP aka my moral compass best friend: as ENFP as one can get friends: ESTPs, ESFPs, ENFJs, ESFJs suitors: INTPs, INTJs, ISTPs don't get em but feel like having a banter with em: ESTJs, ENTJs just don't get em: ISFJs, ISFPs dream husband: INFJ
As an ENTP with an INFP close friend (yes, she passed all of my ENTP tests, surprise), INFP is like a landmine full of cotton candy. Treading an INFP's soul is rewarding and intellectually stimulating in its own rights, however, when I land on one of those mines, I would be force to stay hospitalized mentally for several days.
@@kate.2211 Well uhh, I annoyed her for 3 years until I realized that she wasn't that affected by my actions. At that point man, the chaos monkey is beaten.
I’m an ISFP and one of best friends is an ENTP haha! It’s interesting as when we’re talking we do feel somewhat “off wavelength”, which figures as we don’t share any functions - but he’s amazing at a lot of the stuff I’m shit and and vice versa!
I'm an ISFP and talking to an ENTP/INTJ does feel quite bumpy. They're very charming, but they keep trying to test my core values with "Hmm, so what if I do this.... So what if this happens... But do you know this data..." But my values are what I want to stay firm and want to bring to my own life as well as this world. It's what I experience and want to make a change around. I understand data talk is important, but sometimes it leads to nowhere and in the end gives no motivation to strive.
I had never thought about it in this way, but as an ENTP talking to an ISFP, it really is true that I am fascinated by his convictions! Even though I sometimes find them strange, I also respect them. Even earlier today he told me something that absolutely fascinated me, and every time he says something like that, I just want to dig deeper to find his reasoning. He is so mysterious and fascinating to me that I just can't get enough! We talk on the phone for _HOURS,_ and honestly he has made me think more actively about and get in touch with my own feelings. What I'm trying to say is that we're not necessarily trying to test you, but we want to understand you because you are so immensely fascinating to us! I bet the person you are talking to often thinks about a hundred different scenarios with you in them, wondering about what you'd think about something and why.
@@Zeverinsen Aww, that sounds so sweet :'))) Haha, I know that the person doesn't mean to be irritating or trying to disprove me, he really can't stop looking at different angles and genuinely wants to see how they clash and what stands. But sometimes as an ISFP, I struggle with explaining myself in words, against the data that he gives. So while I'm still firm on my belief, I can't always show how. Idk maybe that can come off as dumb and shallow to them afajsdklk I hope not! He's still talking to me so it can't be that bad lol. It's sweet to hear that you find an ISFP so charming, he sounds great, way better than me in articulating himself 😂
I can only speak from my own experience, but when it seems like I question an ISFP too hard, it's really only because I want to understand why they feel like this about something. Me challenging certain things is only another methode of me to find out what is going in their minds. It's fascinating for me!
Waah i never thought y'all see it as "testing"😭 I did this to all of the Fi friends i encountered. I just find them genuinely interesting with how firm they are with their morals. I try to come up with scenarios that would shake their values, but they don't budge. It's satisfying to witness that. I admire that moral consistency that you guys have because it somewhat resonates to my Ti (except i strive for logical consistency). So, i agree with the previous comment that we just want to understand. Just to put it out there, one thing i find really grateful for Fi is that they respect my wants, opinions, feelings and morals. I have a hard time saying no but Fi taught me that it wouldn't hurt people if i just say my feelings like y'all did. Because fascinatingly enough, given your nature of being honest and blunt with your opinions even controversial ones too, people seem to still like you. So i just learned that I can make people happy just by making myself happy. That's something I'll be forever grateful for
@@leina1858 😭Wow, what a misunderstanding! I would feel very interrogated and uncomfortable. And by the end of the questioning, I would feel somewhat looked down upon because I struggle to articulate what I feel/think. Often times, my first answer is not the right answer because I may only begin to figure myself out as soon as the question is asked. I converse way better when typing/writing because I have time to think. I'm afraid people will think I'm shallow or that my morals are not strong just because I need time to form them into words. In some scenarios, my initial instinct is to save myself although it breaks my morals. But if it happens in real life, based on experience with different scenarios, I know I will take some time to build my strength and do what's right. So when asked theoretically, I may be ashamed of my immediate answer and will have no way of proving to you that I am capable of defending my morals in the long run. That kills me. In real life, if I see equal pros and cons for two alternatives given to me, I will need others' opinion (maybe someone with strong Te) or I will let fate decide. But when asked theoretically, at that time, I feel a spotlight on me. That conditions me to answer it like an exam, with no external help. And I may say stupid or contradicting things. So I fear the questioning. 😖 I think ISFPs are more comfortable letting the action do the talking. I deeply appreciate someone who figures me out by noticing the decisions I make or the care I give others. I think people who have asked me about my thoughts and ideas don't truly know me because my thoughts are very specific for specific scenarios and my ideas change all the time. I don't always behave the way I say I am. But I think INTJs can figure me out nevertheless. So maybe I'm wrong. Maybe intuitives can really know me well from what I tell them 🤔🤗
Dear Kristin put it best ENTP: *explains cool idea* INTP: I see your cool idea, and I raise you, 7 new cool ideas. Yep, neither one of us will be sleeping tonight. The combination of the two types is a recipe for endless ideas, almost all of which will probably never get put into action.
I think you nailed it. Especially Entp need people even if they don't like them. I think we have a gift for seeing the value in the other types and adapt to them. At least as a female.
Nah, even ENTP males need people. I'll never admit it outside a comment thread. I know...we're pretty stoic...and handsome. But I need to sharpen my Fe teeth on....SOMETHING.
As ENTP, i can't handle too long with ESFP. They are fun, but they concentrate too much on details and love to retell what happened to them in SUCH a detailed way, so it happens too boring. ENFP can be a good friend, but sometimes i can't handle with their emotional instability. They can be open-minded, but 5 minutes later they are closed and dramatic. This is so overwhelming and annoying. I adore ISTP for their practicality and coolness. They can't stand a deep philosophical discussion, but they are interested sometimes to hear new ideas to REALISE them. This is very rewarding experience. Interesting, my dad is ESFJ. And he calling me "an absolute egoist who does everything for his own benefit"... Which is basically true :D But i can say the same in a positive manner. I had a relationship with INFP girlfriend, and I realized that it's great to relax with them ... but making plans is quite difficult. they are sometimes even lazier and procrastinate more than ENTPs. But they are able to create comfort from anything. ENTPs often neglect their own comfort, while in the process of searching for new ideas, and INFP appreciate what surrounds them. I think, INFPs can be a great interior designers
Oh my gosh, why is this the exact depiction of my relationships with people of these types... I'm an ENTP gal myself. Can't find any flaws in your reasoning smh 🙃
I have ended up in a few debates with a few people whom I've suspected of being ENTPs. They've certainly given me food for thought, and made me reevaluate what I thought that I knew!
Can confirm on the INFJ and ENTP understanding. My older sister is an ENTP and I’m an INFJ and what you described is accurate to how we understand each other as well as how a lot of our intellectual interactions go
I think that's a bit backwards. It's the INTP who will get fixated on one idea and believe it to be correct. Where an ENTP will never stop looking for ways to optimize. I think the difference is that ENTP's will look to optimize while a task is already in motion. INTP "we need to perfect this before we start" ENTP "Let's start find out the flaws through trial and error and adapt as we go"
One of my boardgame buddies is an ENTJ and I think you're spot-on. We can really give eachother a run for our money but where I sometimes get lost in deliberation, run out of steam right before the game reaches it's conclusion and forgot my perfect plan, he hás the perfect plan, got some rest (when I was eating the clock) by nót going over every unnecessary contingency and whacks me over the head with it 😂 I love those games
Me (istp) and my Entp friend love too see the chaos in our class from behind and judge the other students during it. We also like doing work proyects together and tease eachtoher like fighting and argue knowing that the other wont be offended. Its just great
As an ENTJ some of my closest friends are ENTPs because I value very highly their ability (and willingness) to play devil's advocate to my ideas/plans before I put them into action. Whereas they seem to value my ability (and willingness) to put plans into action at all. (Although healthy ENTPs can have a surprising amount of grindset when appropriately motivated and interested in their work.) Also, they're just great conversationalists in general and when I'm hanging out with them I'm never bored.
That is exactly right, vis a vis how i see myself and life. That's why I like men that remind me of Sean Connery. No idea what type he was but would not be surprised if it was ISTP. At any rate, he was the sort of man who knew his own mind. People that know their own mind, while making sense, limit possible choices and that is freedom.
Is funny having this internal conflict of me thinking "MBTI is kinda accurate but don't forget its pseudo science" and also the side of me who watches this and is like "OMG Why is this shit so accurate", even explaining my relationship with some friends perfectly well.
Happy new year My brother is an ENTP and I am an ISFJ (jumper but still). I can see this polar great/horrible in us, as we always had been like best friends but very different, though when things were bad between us, they were way too bad. There is no middle. Thankfully most of the times is a perfect balance. The best part is that as we mature, we have found the way to hold conversations with understanding. And MBTI knowledge helped a lot in understanding each other's mentality and how we function. The fact we share cognitive functions makes it all easier because we use it as a common ground in our conversations and solving problems. Ne and Fe are more open to acceptance and understanding of other points of view and feelings, so this is the key for us.
Yeah, this is why I vacillate between thinking I'm an INTP and an ENTP. I know I turn into an INTJ when I'm under stress, and I very much like the INTJ as company.
that's not how it works. i'd say you'd most likely be the INTJ. Stress brings out our defaults. And that's what the MBTI is about. Your default. Hell, I have emotions. I'm ENTP. I'm not gonna start calling myself an ENFP because I CAN be emotional. It's what I default to. And what i default to is a conflict driven jack-ass. You could wake me up on the brink of death...and I'll prolly have some sass about your train of thought lacking logic. Or I'll make fun of my near dead state...because emotions are stupid.
Per Jung INTJ is the ENTP subconscious, when you switch it would feel kind of like a clumsy INTJ, like you might jump to wrong conclusions. I'm a ENFP and do this a lot, slip into INFJ and I'm overly critical, and also strangely more vulnerable because my brain isn't running at full potential.
@L Lucky same. but as an ENTP I literally can't relate to a single other type. I tried. Sure, there's a crumb of INTP here, ENFP dark humor there. But when I learned about their OTHER traits, I was like, "Helllll noooo" I think learning more about the other types can process of elimination a lot of confusion. Surface level stuff you're bound to see loads of similarities.
@L Lucky I am RARELY anything other than an ENTP. But I can be VERY INTP when the mood hits just right. And I absolutely love it. I know we come off as goofy and obtuse asses. Probably because we are. But I love chilling in my own head space and just doing calculations about life. Love puzzles. Love research. Love gaining understanding and making sure it follows through logically. And that's why I just...vibe...with INTPs. Ya'll just make me feel at home. I spend a lot of time trying to Fe chaos around me, but I KNOW that no one actually likes me or wants to know the real me. Except INTPs. I can always count on your type to pull up a chair. I can just be myself. So maybe you don't hear this enough, but thanks for just being you. As for INFJs....blech. There's an attraction there. But there's also a ticking time bomb there. They're too stubborn and conflict averse. It's a...distasteful combination. You can be one, but both? I know the INFJ is too polite to make a big deal about it, but unless you read their mind or CIA body language them....they may door slam you for your banter. Not cool. Not okay. At least the INTP will say, "Can you just stfu for a moment" and I'll be like, "oh, sure...no prob bob"
I actually know a pair of twins who are INFJ and ENTP. Being an INTP myself, it's always a blast when we get together. Playing around with different puzzles and theories and just being useless together is a great time. It's just really cool how we all mesh together!
I personally have love and hate relationship with ENTPs. My sister is one, she's very annoying but i still love her. ENTPs are probably the most fun i ever had
Sorry Nath, I've come up with an alternative. ESTP: An inferior version of me, that is covered in girls. ISTP: An inferior version of me, that is covered in engine oil. INFJ: An inferior version of me, that is my therapist. ISFJ: An inferior version of me, that is too quiet. ESFP: An inferior version of me, that keeps singing. ENFP: An inferior version of me, that is a crybaby. INFP: An inferior version of me, that is even more of a crybaby. ISTJ: An inferior version of me, that is boring. ENTP: An inferior version of me, but with good effort. INTP: An inferior version of me, that has actually watched more anime than me . ESFJ: An inferior version of me, that is liked by everyone - for some reason. INTJ: An inferior version of me, that is going to rule the world with me. ESTJ: An inferior version of me, that reminds me of my least favourite teacher. ENFJ: An inferior version of me, that is liked by me - for some reason ENTJ: An inferior version of me, that reminds me of my least favourite boss. ISFP: An inferior version of me, that has really trippy art that I like.
This is amazing - thanks for sharing... As an ENTP, this is 100 percent accurate, other than for me, the ISTP would be another partner in crime given the right circumstances.
Ok, this is really cool to hear. I think many people wouldn't see ENTPs and ESFJs as a natural fit, but to me it makes a lot of sense if you have an Fe heavy ENTP involved! ~ Nathan.
I have a close ESTJ friend but he listens more while I direct the convo. But when it comes to playing games w him it’s complete opposite😭 he’s in charge & calls me out everytime I do smt wrong. I see them as people who are leaders but also control freaks. I envy their goal oriented part
Im an INTJ and my father is ENTP. And while we agree on many things like discussing ideas and whatnot, we also clash as much. I just hate how spontaneous he could get and think that people around him got all the time in their hands and that they will be available upon his call, no matter how ungodly hour it is.
Super fascinating to hear that ENTPs are the shadow type of INTJs but they share an intellectual understanding. I only know one ENTP (a sculptor) as an acquaintance and we would have great, quirky conversations about art but beyond that his conclusion of me was that I'm 'too demanding' because I'm quite shy in social circles and 'expect' ppl to work harder to talk to me. Oh well, each to their own 🤷🏻♀️.
@@jacksonp2397 idk bc he was the one accusing me of wanting ppl to "work harder" but I think he meant aloof. Which is something INTJs are often accused of. Believe me, it's not arrogance at all despite our facial expression. If they like you, it could be shyness or just taking it all in. If they don't like you, believe me they will tell you or run away.
@@olivia-performanceartist3693 People have a tendency to think that other people are similar to themselves, which just makes sense, because the biggest reference anyone has for people IS themselves. So, I think what probably happened is that the ENTP fellow noticed that you weren't as talkative as he is, so he needed to rationalize some reason for it, and because he sees you as similar to himself, instead of fundamentally different, he assumed it was a laziness of sorts. You know, kind of like how "ENTP's can't quite be bothered to reach their full potential."
it's funny how me (enfp) and my friend (entp) took our friendship. it's total chaos how our minds work together and how we manage to talk about anything. we are always agreeing to disagree and yet we see each other as very similar. when I met him I didn't know about typology. and when I started to study it, I could see the reasons more clearly in how we could discuss and disagree about everything and still understand eachother's way of thinking.
I'm an entp, and as much as I find enfps fascinating (my boyfriend and 3/5 of my friends are enfps) it's painful to watch them take the worst decisions possible, for the dumbest of reasons (for example, my friend Thom spent all of his money on gambling because it made him "feel alive")
As an INFJ I can't stress enough how much ENTPs drive me crazy! Ne in overdrive is too much to handle on a daily basis. I spend my time and most of my scarce energy trying to focus their attention on something worthwhile. But Alas very often in vain.
Same here! I'm an ENTP girl, and I've recently started dating this amazing man who I suspect is an ISTP. I overanalyze the compatibility of our types daily... Agony and ectasy 😉
This ENTP mom has an ISTP youngest kid. He and I are always the ones making mischief in our house, much to the dismay of ESTJ dad and ENTJ biggest kid. I drop an idea, and he instantly knows how to make it happen! 😆
Imho the ENTP has to hold back a lot, because the Ne drives the ISTP crazy. Otherwise it can be a really beneficial (aka growth on both sides) and loving relationship.
@@healtheworldbitchesmy boyfriend of 3 weeks is an ENTP. So far it’s been super great. Lots of affection, cuddling, quality time, honesty, he gives acts of service, he always ensures I feel comfortable even at his own expense (but I’m also always looking out for his comfort of course). Our relationship feels very easy and the chemistry is really good. I have a lot of patience for his Ne, it hasn’t been an issue at all yet.
@@notverynotoriousg5674 The funny thing is that I don't even flirt. To me, flirting indicates an attempt to get into someone's pants, and I'm not exactly that kind of guy.
@@Chigger oh I know, but we show interest in other people, and its an ENFP thing. Most people just aren't that interested in other people. Just what a guy at an anti-gay rally wants to hear, another guy complimenting his shoes, lol.
Yes, I do want to date this ISFP, because he is so intriguing and mysterious to me! *_Is it doomed to fail!?_* We talk on the phone for hours, and it is true that every time I learn more about his convictions and principles, I just want to continue digging deeper! He is so fascinating to me as an ENTP, that he has influenced me to delve deeper into understanding my own feelings. I'm not sure what I would have to look out for in order to make it work, so I wish there would be more people talking about ENTP with ISFP :(
ISFP here, married to an ENTP for 10 years now. Love him very much! It's a great relationship, we're a good team 💖☺️. That's not to say that we don't fight and clash sometimes... We do, like once a month or so... When it happens-I'm extremely sorry for my neighbors having to hear it all... We get fiery🔥... But also never stay mad for long. The important thing is that our values very much match... When we talk about something, we both bring out an interesting side that the other one hadn't seen. He's taught me to be tougher and say no to people, I also take his sarcasm and jokes well. He loves that I'm not very bossy and take care of his physical and emotional needs, and of the kids. I'm sometimes sad because he changes his mind often, and backs out of his promises. He gets mad when I'm very nice to other people, and all bubbly... But with him I'm never a hypocrite... I tell him the truth, sometimes in a not-so-loving way🥲... So he gets jealous for the attention others get, he thinks he's not that important to me... That I'm ready to defend other people against him... But that's not true, I am open before him because I care, and sometimes wish I can be as much upfront with others as I am with him. ☝️But to us those are just minor issues that are easy to deal with... I guess for us, it's the Fe that clashes with Fi... He can easily express himself, while I am still learning to say what I think in a loving manner right away, instead of bursting at him later on. He also taught me to research my data and come to him with a short and important thesis, instead of starting at Genesis and finishing with Revelation (as I'm doing here right now😆). With him it's never boring... We love adventure, sports, doing ministry at our church together. Others say that they love hanging out with our family because we're chill and open💖.
@@rositatomashevska6136 That's so lovely to hear! The ISFP I think of is more open about his feelings than I am, and I think that he has made me try to connect more with my own feelings. It is true that I often tell him to be more assertive and let people know what he actually wants, so I guess that is an inevitable part of the dynamic 😂 It's not that serious yet, but it feels more real than it ever has before. I hope to see an adventurous future!
@@Zeverinsen Well I wish you two the best! Seriously, ENTP with ISFP make a great match... These types complete each other (when both are healthy + have the same values)... There can be amazing synergy. I am so happy to have my ENTP... Wouldn't trade him for anybody else in the world!
As an INFP you’re so right about the dynamic that sets up with an ENTP, to include a coworker of mine. I feel like her Ne gets so far out of hand as to be a problem when it comes to actually getting shit done, and sometimes there is this really amoral stuff that I can’t stand, to include a disregard for doing what she’s committed to do. If I don’t keep my word, I am upset. If she doesn’t, it’s like oh well, screw ‘em. On the other hand she’s also not someone I have to constantly be on eggshells with and when my humor gets edgy or I need to give blunt feedback I know I’m not going to be offending her.
@@Zeverinsen As a fellow Ne user I know forgetting happens. 😉 In her case it’s the complete lack of regret that gives me a WTF moment. I should note that I was raised by an ENTJ dad and ESTJ mom, so my inferior Te was in constant boot camp while growing up. It probably also has an effect too…I mean, the office ENTP thinks I can be a real alien sometimes. What I am waiting for, though, isn’t any kind of clash with me. What I will really break out the popcorn for is if she ever finally has an epic throwdown with the ESTJ manager. I mean, if I get annoyed with not keeping one’s word or other chaotic stuff, I just have a feeling those two are eventually going to have a major blowout. Adding fuel to the fire is that we just switched to Agile for our projects and it really is the ascendency of the Te users instead of the Ti Masters of Scope Creep. 🤣 (Ne/Ti is like the ultimate scope creep combo.) In contrast the ESTJ and I actually get along with great, more so than with another manager whose type I really haven’t pinned down yet, because I know what to expect and what to do with Te-doms. That means the ESTJ and I can be surprisingly hand in glove compared to the stereotypes about how well INFPs and ESTJs are “supposed” to get along. (Total sidetrack…ESTJs get such a bad rap but IMO they are very good for telling you exactly what they want and not playing stupid games like changing the rules mid-course or hiding feedback in hopes of you banging yourself, or other dumb drama BS like that.)
Our dynamic with ISFJS being often a coinflip to great to terrible is awfully true. One my best friends is an ISFJ, and while I love to hear her talk about the way she does things and admire the "there's no way out, now we can only accept it" philosophy that I've found is exceptionally wise in its own way, especially in contrast to my tendency to get stuck in a situation by paradoxically trying to improve it, there's an undeniable aspect in the way she operates that at times throws me off the roof. It often shows up as me excitedly asking what she's been up to and her replying saying the EXACT same thing in the exact same way as the other times I've asked her, wich can be boiled down to her doing the same kind of things every day too, I guess. It's silly and kind of stupid, but painfully annoying. Her deliberately choosing to react to something the same way she has already done thousands of times before or even worse, her being able to somehow apply those same answers to different questions completely ruins my excitement for a moment. The way I've found to deal with this is purposefuly skipping this step and going straight up to more universal, abstract topics I think to myself for a second I might be up to talk about instead of doing the Ne way of drawing attention to more interesting stuff outside of something else, as our activities throughout the day, for example.
My brother is an ENTP while I'm an INTJ. I love bantering with him. He is often able to produce off hand witty remarks or quips on the fly and I'll respond to them with my usual dark, irreverent humour. I think he enjoys these banters as much as me. Also, I would say House is most likely an INTJ. He hates humans way too much to be an extrovert. And like what Nathan mentioned, his Fe is definitely not strong 🤣 However, he is motivated by strong personal values and is passionate at what he does, (a characteristic of INTJs which Nathan has often mentioned in his videos).
ESTP “...excellent partners in crime.” I'ma ESTP and I kinda can confirm that this is true.. and honestly, you don't wanna know what me (ESTP) and my best friend (ENTP) did in past that relates to it at some point 😅

What you said about INTJs struck a chord. When I'm under a lot of stress or surrounded by non-combatible people I become overly serious and self isolating. Then I get bored, unmotivated and burn out. ENTPs can do and say demonic things because they're also cracking jokes, scheming pranks & building team spirit, but in INTJ mode they're just evil and unhappy.
the show Better Call Saul (and Breaking Bad to a lesser extent) in my opinion shows the similarities between Entps and Esfjs quite well. The character Jimmy McGill/ Saul Goodman is an obvious Entp but with extremely good Fe so much so that he often gives off an Esfj "vibe" when he's trying to convince people and get them on their good side.

As intp I like speaking with ENTP so much
ENTPs are kinds of people I aspire to be.
🤩 - ENTP

Your father is brilliant!!!!! - ENTP

We like you too. It’s nice to not have to derive and prove everything as we good. There’s time for that later.
That's a very interesting problematic to think about I believe.
i’m an isfp with an entp ex.. wow. so shockingly accurate. we were so different and it was so emotionally draining.
What would an ENTP who has strict parents act like?
Personally.. psychopathic upon not given logical freedom that will only make my life better
I'm an INTJ and anytime I'm with an ENTP we bring out the evil parts of each other 😂
😂🤌💪
Love me some INTJ! From an ENTP 😜
There can be a similar dynamic between ENTJ and INTP as well. I think such pairings tend to enable the other person to indulge in their base natures without forcing them to seek improvement. Like a powerful dynamic duo that can be near unstoppable, and that power can be corrupting.
You mean the relevant parts of each other ;)
Truth!
Im ENTP and i absolutely LovE INFPs

ENTP + ISTP combo is like Saul Goodman + Mike Ehrmantraut.
Mike in an ISTJ though…
@@swxqt6826 not disputing that. But Gus struck me as more of the ISTJ. And Gus and Mike seem to have quite different personalities.
As a woman INTJ, ENTP men are always attractive to me. Might be my perfect match actually.

INFJ here,
ENTPs are downright one of my most favorite types. Especially if the both of us are mature, empathetic and respectful in our relationship/friendship. But also in terms of historical individuals (philosophers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, actors, comedians, writers, etc) and entertainment characters in various types of fiction (tv, movies, cartoons/animation, UA-camrs, video games, etc.)
While they may not “get” they insane, ineffable nature of Ni-doms/Heroes (like other INJs for example), they are insanely adept at pattern/concept recognition and able to deconstruct them in ways INFJs find absolutely fascinating with their Ne/Ti.

INFJ here too, ENTPs are the best kind of outside-the-box thinkers to me so I basically agree with this whole entire thing. If I had a "Top 3 MBTI types I adore", I can assure you ENTP would be there.

As a kid I did well in school but got bored and looked forward to being done and starting my career.
I think ISFPs are more comfortable letting the action do the talking. Maybe intuitives can really know me well from what I tell them 🤔🤗
Dear Kristin put it best
ENTP: *explains cool idea*
INTP: I see your cool idea, and I raise you, 7 new cool ideas.
Yeah, we're pretty adaptable and can get along with any type, even if they can't stomach us. (Looking at you, ISFJ aunt.)
Impressive analysis like always!
Which is basically true :D
But i can say the same in a positive manner.
An absolute masterpiece, Nathan! Bravo
Send help I am surrounded by ENTPs
I have ended up in a few debates with a few people whom I've suspected of being ENTPs. They've certainly given me food for thought, and made me reevaluate what I thought that I knew!
I think Dwight Schrute and Jim Halpert from the office are a great example of how brutally chaotic the ENTP-ESTJ dynamic can be
Can confirm on the INFJ and ENTP understanding. My older sister is an ENTP and I’m an INFJ and what you described is accurate to how we understand each other as well as how a lot of our intellectual interactions go
please make this a series 🙏
I’m intending to eventually do it for all the types! ~ Nathan
As an Entp who has an Intp friend, I would like to admit that I am in love with our deep conversations with each other
Exactly how I thought of you and def much compatibility
INTPs are ENTPs who grabs the chance of taking time to think instead of quickly jumping into a conclusion.
I think that's a bit backwards. It's the INTP who will get fixated on one idea and believe it to be correct. Where an ENTP will never stop looking for ways to optimize. I think the difference is that ENTP's will look to optimize while a task is already in motion.
INTP "we need to perfect this before we start"
ENTP "Let's start find out the flaws through trial and error and adapt as we go"
I was binge watching ENTP videos last night and here you are suddenly uploading an ENTP video lmao.
Fate! ~ Nathan
I appreciate how original and well-considered your content is. Thanks again!

Is funny having this internal conflict of me thinking "MBTI is kinda accurate but don't forget its pseudo science" and also the side of me who watches this and is like "OMG Why is this shit so accurate", even explaining my relationship with some friends perfectly well.

Your are not alone in this struggle my friend.
I KNOW, RIGHT!?
And because I hold such a disdain for astrology, I feel like such a hypocrite for being sucked into it!
My thought too
Because some things are accurate even if it's not proven by science.
Happy new year
My brother is an ENTP and I am an ISFJ (jumper but still).

What do you/they mean by work harder to talk to you? I'm curious as an ENTP doing everything to try to get an INTJ to talk to me lol
@@jacksonp2397 idk bc he was the one accusing me of wanting ppl to "work harder" but I think he meant aloof. Which is something INTJs are often accused of.

@@chunktuffyes this makes sense.
it's funny how me (enfp) and my friend (entp) took our friendship. it's total chaos how our minds work together and how we manage to talk about anything. we are always agreeing to disagree and yet we see each other as very similar. when I met him I didn't know about typology. and when I started to study it, I could see the reasons more clearly in how we could discuss and disagree about everything and still understand eachother's way of thinking.
Oh god, that describes my relationship with several of my friends.

It is true that I often tell him to be more assertive and let people know what he actually wants, so I guess that is an inevitable part of the dynamic 😂

LMAO that sounds like me, but I also like to keep my word (though I might just forget).
🤣 (Ne/Ti is like the ultimate scope creep combo.)
In contrast the ESTJ and I actually get along with great, more so than with another manager whose type I really haven’t pinned down yet, because I know what to expect and what to do with Te-doms.
I'm an ISFJ with an ENTP brother who I literally live in the same room with. This vid is spot on.
And like what Nathan mentioned, his Fe is definitely not strong 🤣 However, he is motivated by strong personal values and is passionate at what he does, (a characteristic of INTJs which Nathan has often mentioned in his videos).

the show Better Call Saul (and Breaking Bad to a lesser extent) in my opinion shows the similarities between Entps and Esfjs quite well. The character Jimmy McGill/ Saul Goodman is an obvious Entp but with extremely good Fe so much so that he often gives off an Esfj "vibe" when he's trying to convince people and get them on their good side.
I love this series! ❤️❤️
Wait wait wait I’m at 0:17 and what the- entp and estp partners in crime. This is so much soukoku
I am an ENTP and my brother is ESTP and hell no bro he is not the excellent partner in crime of mine , he sucks , maybe because he is young but yeah
You can only speak 4 words in a row without pausing?
