About Me.
In 2018 I decided to stop working for someone else full time and pursue my dream of building my log home and starting a small farm in the Ozark mountains. It's a dream that I have had and have been working towards for over 20 years, and due to life changes and unexpected events, I decided to make a leap of faith. This journey will not be without its challenges and setbacks, but I will continue to push forward each and every day to make this dream a reality. I try to upload videos 3 days a week but working mostly alone I am always pressed for time.

Good Morning. You are doing a fantastic job. 👍
Thank you
Oh they are so cute. How cute, they sure like your snacks. Love the markings on them. Friendly ... So excited for you all, you are getting closer! All the best.
It's really nice to see the girls (pigs) back at the homestead. Cute trick with the tortillas!
Looking great ! I love all that tongue and groove !
It's amazing man !!!
Hi 👋 there going to be a good day GOD BLESS 🙌
Szevasz, köszönöm a videót !
Awwh the piglets are adorable. I love pig time on the farm. The bathroom is looking very nice Stephen, can't wait to see your final vision come together. I can just see the girls running around upstairs in their new bedrooms and to finally be in the Cabin. My best to you, April and the girls. Blessings!
Getting oh so close to finishing the woodwork!? Which was worse, T&G or chinking?! Pigs are always welcome on the homestead! Have a great week. 👌
The chinking was worse by far. To me it was actually the worst part of the whole build so far.
So much has been completed and it isn't even summer yet. Keep going - the results look incredible!
Cabin is looking great guys 😁👍 Glad to see you got some new Pigs.
Be able to move in before long!
Looks great
GOOD AFTERNOON HOPE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE DOING WELL I REALLY ENJOY WATCHING YOUR WONDERFUL VIDEO
Doing a fantastic job....it always seems to take longer than we think to do a job. Looks great and it's all coming together very nicely, when you finally get done it'll be great to sit back, relax and enjoy your accomplishments. Stay safe, be careful, take it easy and keep warm and dry.
Good job Stephen, glad you got new pigs, now, replace that intro pig with the dirty nose, haha. I bet you dream of putting up that wood, thats a big cabin, but you did it, 👍👍👍👍👍. Glad you’re looking healthy. ❤️💚💗💜💗
Thank you so much. I do need to work on a new intro. Lol
It took me and my wife 21/2 years to build our house in TN. We both worked full time jobs and it seemed that the work would never end but eventually we completed it! Great job, the home looks amazing!
It is a lot of work for sure. I was working 100 hour work weeks in a different state when I started. I have been semi retired since late 2018 so that helps.
0as you said, slow process but soooooo interesting, filled with fun, with sweet little animal moments, filled with learning and the, there is so much happiness seeing your lovely amazing home grow every time we see it!! As many have said, thank you for sharing all with us, it makes me feel somehow a little bit part of this wonderful dream that is so very much coming alive. Thank you for the hard work, for the love one can see in all the details you put in your home, and the patience of videoing the whole thing.

Hello from Virginia - glad your lighting is done. Awesome to see all that chinking finished and beautiful!! You have a great week, too!
Stephen, glad to see your back to being healthy again, also pigs back on the homestead, how are the goats? Building your own home is a marathon , it's going to be awesome
The goats are doing good and looking forward to spring like the rest of us. Lol
Looks like camera angles was a challenge for this job. But you did quite well. Your days are full and rewarding. Thanks for the video.
Camera angles are always a challenge.
Looks like you are getting close to the finish line!
Glad to have you back, great way to start the week. Thanks for taking the time to share your life with us.
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to watch this slow process.
Hi H.R.H. The Homestead Is looking wonderful good to see the pigs back Yum Yum in 12 months time hopefully some nice bacon and ham keep up all the hard work good to see you back Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia
Thank you so much. We have kicked around the idea of buying a catamaran and sailing around the world with Australia being one of our main destinations. If we decide to do it you will have to come out and see us.
Good morning. It really looks nice. It's so fulfilling watching it come together. The piglets are precious. They will be much bigger the next time we see them. Tell Rachel and the girls hello!
They say hello back.
front door looks nice
Thank you
Looking good 👍 everything will be green before long on your mountain.
I’m ready
Hi Stephen. Good to see you back. Those three little pigs are CUTE!! LOL Feed them well. I like my bacon lean! LOL
That front door is beautiful! Believe it or not, the end is in sight. Hopefully, you can find the T & G that you need to finish up the job! It is all coming together beautifully.
👍🏻👍🏻❤️
I am always amazed how much you get done. Its your work ethic that is awesome. Looking good and hang in there!
Great to see the pigs! Are you still pondering their names?
Haha. The girls have already named two of them and trying to decide on a name for the last one.
Your homestead is beautiful and it’s so satisfying to watch it develop. Perfect place for your family. So excited to see the log home coming into the home stretch. Love it!
Good morning Stephen
House is looking great!!! Insulation between floors is gonna be nice. I don’t think I have it in my house and you can hear everything between the up/down stairs 🙄
I hope it helps with the noise from upstairs. Lol
You can see the finish line for the T&G. 👍👍
Just discovered your channel. Very impressed with your building skills. The whole homestead is beautifully done. Cant wait to see you moving forward with all the projects.
Thank you so much.
There is an attachment you can get for cutting in can lights that catches the material so it doesn’t fall everywhere
I’ve seen people take a bowl and drill a hole through it and use it as a way to catch all the dust. I’m just too cheap to ruin a bowl. Lol
Sure is looking good.
One thing about that home there is not a lot of fire resistant materials. You need good fire detection
That's alot of tongue & groove but it's so much quicker to install then sheetrock. I no your sick of installing it but you were sick of clinking to and it got done. Just imagine sheetrock.you wouldn't be any where near as far along as you are with tongue & groove or atleast that's my view of it.
Hang in there your getting there 🙏
Ur house is looking so GOOD
Thank you
Hi Stephen. A sure way to beat the overpriced market is to grow your own pigs. I wish I had the freezer space to do that. Maybe in my next house I can invest in a couple of freezers so I can buy half a cattle from a farmer. I am convinced that is the way to go. You know what is going in the livestock you raise.
Have you ever considered just getting a Pot-bellied Pig as a pet?
Glad to see you are using ROXUL insulation. I know it is more expensive then the pink insulation but with all that wood at your place you need a firestop and the sound barrier is superior imho.
I don’t really have much of a place for pets right now. All the animals are either food or tools . Lol. Maybe when the house is finished
@@hickoryridgehomestead9177 Pot bellied pigs are outdoor pets. But either way.
😯👍👍👍👌
