Both Telugu and Hindi versions became classics, box office hits, But the Tamil version (Praptham) 1971, produced and directed by the greatest heroine of South Indian cinema, Savitriji (besides being heroine like in Telugu version) failed badly in box office. This destroyed her completely in many ways and her life too ended under tragic circumstances at the age of 44 years. What a destiny!
