Neckbands so much better than true wireless because you don't need to carry around a separate case or devote any pocket space to it. Infinitely better for situational awareness, for taking phone calls. You don't have to fiddle around your pockets or decide whether or not to keep your your buds in your ear when you're not using them. They're just not as fashionable but that's simply an aesthetic benefit. As far as utility neckbands are infinitely better.
True wireless is a sloppy solution when every time you get a phone call you have to fiddle around for your pockets to put your true wireless in, or every time someone talks to you you have to either long press for a transparency mode or take one of your earbuds out and either hold it or look for your case.

TBH for Bluetooth I still prefer bone conduction sets which I think combine the best of both conveniences. They just sacrifice on... audio quality...

i used a similar design about 5 years ago in the gym and I loved em. True wireless have much better fits these days but if your fell sprinting or something like that this form factor is still useful.

Its ok, though normal wireless in ears would be fine. But they are better for stuff like burpees where an earbud might fly out @@neandrewthal

I have the Littlewhite, and I like it. I actually have my Kato attached to it. The only problem is that I cannot get the app to work with iOS, but I don’t really feel the need to EQ the Kato, so not a big deal. Oh, and the LW has preformed ear hooks, so the weight of the IEM and microphonics aren’t issues.

i enjoyed the tree branch growing out of the ear there... very humorous! as for these neck band devices, i saw a video recently whereby another guy on youtube has hacked them, you can delete the iems, and then replace them with some re wiring to a pair of over ear regular headphones.... it's a conversion kit - for your headphones!!!! which is then pretty darned useful.

I think it makes more sense to get the Little white and attach a ~$40 iem to it for the same total cost

I got Moondrop Voyager about a week ago.
    First impression:
They would be great, but if they didn't have problems...
So let's start from the beginning.
I bought them to replace my Xiaomi Mi Tws, because ones are starting to disconnect.
Also, I have DT 990 Pro which I really enjoy listening to.
And now I used Voyager for some days and I can tell you something for sure.
They are light and comfortable. The controls are fine, you have your usual play-stop button and + - buttons.
They don't have any noise cancellation, so they aren't meant for noisy environments. But the sound... is great.
They have 7-10 tuning variants ( it depends on their version and the application you use ).
The Normal tuning sounds similar to my DT990Pro. The Voyager are tuned so well. The soundstage is better than in any gaming headset. In comparison with DT, they are a bit worse and the stage is smaller, but the sounds don't interrupt each other. The detailisation is also really good, just a bit worse than DT.
So the sound is up to my liking. The bass isn't bad, the tremble is louder than in average earphones and the voice doesn't sound metallic.
What about other tuning variants? And with this question, we come to their problems.
I cannot apply different tuning variants. Also, the application works just from time to time. It can be fixed with updates so don't worry about it that much.
Another problem is when I use the LHDC codec for a minute, the right earphone stops playing sound. The problem might actually be my phone here. So if you have a new flagship phone which supports LHDC, you might be fine. The aptX is fine with me though.
    After a weekof usage:
    Well, like, freak.
I fell in love with Voyager, the sound is awesome and most importantly, the detailisation is good. The scene is inferior to the 990, but not by much.
Well, it’s stupidly convenient to always have headphones on your neck. Voice messages, random listening to music and everything is open to you now.
But I don’t like the condition of the cable, it wobbles in the headphones - it’s slightly stretched and the copper wire from the cable slightly pulls the dynamic case.
The application's presets don't change the sound that much ( to me the Monitor/no bass preset sounds the same as Ultra bass). Charging once every 2 days is the usual thing if you listen to them during work hours, and the battery does degrade after time.
    In conclusion,
If you need wireless sound and you won't use them in noisy places, plus you have a flagship phone/player with LHDC/aptX, they are one of the best Bluetooth variants available now.
I don't know if they are any better than a little white + Moondrop lan which you can get for the same price.

@@SuperReviewMany people praise Space Travel as the ultimate value for money when it comes to TWS, with some claiming it offers superior performance compared to alternatives costing twice as much.

Got my sister Space Travel as a replacement for her broken Nekocake (right earbud stopped working at all a year after purchase)
It is decent, similar FR to Nekocake, but has a slightly worse battery life, the case has no lid and it has a noticeable amount of white noise when not playing anything.
For their price, they are a no-brainer, but beware of the background noise.

Considering your comparisons to the Lan, it’s a bit weird that they put this out at the same price as the combination of Littlewhite+Lan. Between the Voyager’s cable being fixed and probably worse (from the product photos the Littlewhite’s cable looks SSRish), it just looks like a bad deal in comparison.

I guess the opposite of true wireless is "false wireless"? 🤔
The IEMs themselves look very reminiscent of Tanchjim Zero with that transparent plastic housing and the angled snouts.

I paid £11.99 for a pair of KZ-ZSN Pro’s and I don’t know but for the money I don’t need to consider any more IEH’s. I had various Skullcandy FMJ’s and then the XT Free wireless which are fine apart from the battery life.

I just find it so odd that somebody that is okay using wired IEMs all the time would be so inconvenienced by a neckband. You're okay being completely tethered to your phone with a wire, but you can't handle a little necklace? This one's a little big but they don't have to be that way.

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  11 місяців тому +1

Funny when you put it that way, but yeah, I'd rather have a DAP in my pocket and wired IEMs dangling over my neck than this headgear-lookin' thing dangling around my belly button.
