for anyone wondering... this tape was given directly to me by piggy. his own master cassette tape back on the outer limits tour. we were on the bus and he played it for me and then offered it to me. of course being the biggest voivod on the planet i accepted blown away by the gesture. i kept it to myself for a bit as i didn't know if he wanted it 'passed around'. eventually i did trade it to some pals and then it got out onto the 'net etc in time. so if anyone is wondering that is the origins of this tape. and no it never had song titles or anything to it. just a black 90 minute memorex tape. r.i.p piggy. we all love and miss you.
Hey King, I messaged you on facebook from a burner account, but I work for 2 podcasts if you would be interested in doing one one day, I am a massive Deceased fan of course, I am in my own bands influenced by you guys, but let me know, looking forward to Children of the Morgue, hope its this year!
Yes the original recording was made on a 4 tracks reel to reel tape machine, Piggy used to often play on his alesis drum machine by hand while recording, so perhaps that is what it is a little off at moment but also almost natural. He did a similar thing for the demo of the outer limits that I release on Minemine Records.
1 hour and 26 minutes of Piggy guitar jams with just a drum machine are way more interesting and better than most modern metal bands discographies nowadays, that's how of a genius he was, RIP.
Got my first electric in 1986 because of piggy . I was 9 yrs old and heard War and Pain , and was hooked . When killing tech and Hatross came out , my way of listening to music and guitar phrasing was changed forever . The music i record today is HEAVILY influenced by piggy and Voivod and i would not have it any other way .
Hi everyone here, I have the original tape here. But there isn't much credit on it, just some note, so I would like to figure out the titles of all those, they are pretty much all cover songs. #4 I see you by the Byrds #6 Flower king of flies by the Nice, the rest not sure at all, so if anyone know! Eventually it maybe release...maybe! But for that I need all the credit to be right.
Voivod is my favourite band , and I think the most unique metal band out there. They are still as relevant today and rocking heavy as ever. This is awesome thanks for sharing.
Seen them in April this year, they were fantastic. Don't think any metal band has a catalogue as versatile and interesting as Voivod. I f*cking love them ❤
Jesus eh total jazz fusion thrash with those jagged diminished chords or whatever he's using, he sure had a wide palette of chords to use from and a deep well of improvisation. Magic stuff, lots of Gilmour too, I'll share here to I read in a guitar mag in early 90s that piggy used a toaster for a preamp lol somehow changed the chord and it worked ,set it on brown and sounded great lol just shows you his genius, alit of king crimson too I think.
I've had this for years - got it on the old Voivod fan site as well. I love it. Put it on an old iPhone and listen to it in the car. Lets me imagine I am hanging with Piggy and jamming!
@@jeanyvestheriault8362 Blacky! Great to hear from you. You are every bit as unique as Piggy was - nobody plays quite like either of you. Thanks for bringing such beauty into this world!
this is so great! never came across this even as a longtime fan, love all this compositions! the beats the bass (bass also his right?) he probably must had made more demos like this with delecious slices of fatness not on albums or edited unrecognizible versions (for example a song on the geordy walker demo becoming the song big buzz) piggy indeed never stopped recording music even on his hospital bed , that became quatorz and infini, released after his death, he gave the password of his laptop to away as he said sometime in an interview.. r.i.p piggy
@@vonclod123 O man that would've been an amazing show. I didn't become a fan until 2016 so I missed out on Piggy and Blacky live, but got to meet Away and Snake last year. Hope they tour Quebec again this summer!

My man, I don’t think that’s a drum machine
It rules King. If it was anyone I wouldn't believe it. But it's definitely legit from a legit voivod fanatic, cheers
cheers! oh yeah! voivoddddddddddddddddd@@schwilly6667

I am not a huge metal fan, but Piggy was a unique guitar player, and he transcends genres, very underrated guitar player that is for damn sure.

Y'a ink Piggy qui pouvais sonner comme ça!.. riff master elite level.
The riffing at 41:00 ... incredible. And with a drop D, unusual for Denis.
Merci pour le partage !
De rien. C'est un plaisir de partager cet enregistrement.
RIP PIGGY!!!
I'm thinking Piggy liked King Crimson..awesome stuff! he was so unique.
He did for sure! On the album Phobos he did a cover of 21st century schizoid man. Wish I could've met him
@@jtgre4833 No doubt, saw him play on the Outer Limits tour, small club..that was amazing !

Good luck
Very big thanks to you for sharing this. I've searched it for years.
This gave me a sudden urge to listen to The Ramones
Holy shit! Incredible!
This is fantastic!
what a pity piggy, it's no longer with us to put these ideas on an album, fantastic reminds me of nothingface.
I am getting Outer Limits vibes, personally, but it may have a dash of Nothingface.

@@jddelarosa I sincerely don't agree at all. Long live "Piggy" the real Artist here.

Mp3 found into a old Voivod fan site (look down).
WOW \,,/...
How am I just now finding these?!?! Are these leaked? Unreleased killer Piggy tracks!!!??
Nothing is leaking, it was given to King by Piggy, read the first post.
Can someone please ID the first riff? Is it used in any recording?
🙂
Any chance you could share the original audio file?
Why?

If Piggy is playing guitar and drum machining-it, Blacky playing bass or Piggy?
I don’t know…
That first jam is hittin!
Piggy n Blacky came up with riffs together, so maybe they initially did it like this with a drum machine then later showed it to Away n Snake.
@@spacerauk0001 Blacky officially quitted Voivod at the end of 1991for personal reasons, but may have collaborated out of friendship with Piggy....
No it is Piggy only, I had quit by then.
tracklist? please?
Songs have no titles !
Could be fake?
No. Real recording. Mp3 found into a old Voivod fan site.
i sent it to that site a long time ago. 100% real.
I dont think so.Listen to it.
