SSF Scavengers / Blue Line Transfer Organic Waste to CNG Facility

Using Zero Waste Energy's SMARTFERM technology, this facility will convert 11,200 tons per year of food and yard waste into up to 120,000 diesel equivalent gallons of bio CNG fuel, enough to fuel approximately 10-12 of South San Francisco Scavengers CNG-fueled collection vehicles. It’s estimated that each collection vehicle will collect enough organic waste during just one route to fuel it for an entire day!

Great to see the by-product being used to fuel the collection vehicles and also the general operations of the site. One questions though, besides the sale of the final compost, how does this kind of business finance its operations? Many thanks.
