Переглядів 5 тис.9 років тому
The Zero Waste Energy (ZWE) SMARTFERM® anaerobic digestion (AD) project is designed to transform the City of Napa’s organic waste into biogas and compost. The project will institute a city-wide residential organics waste diversion program and significantly expand the existing commercial organics diversion program. Approximately 25,000 tons per year of yard and food waste will be processed and c...
SSF Scavengers / Blue Line Transfer Organic Waste to CNG Facility
Переглядів 3,2 тис.9 років тому
Using Zero Waste Energy's SMARTFERM technology, this facility will convert 11,200 tons per year of food and yard waste into up to 120,000 diesel equivalent gallons of bio CNG fuel, enough to fuel approximately 10-12 of South San Francisco Scavengers CNG-fueled collection vehicles. It’s estimated that each collection vehicle will collect enough organic waste during just one route to fuel it for ...

Great that you are capturing methane. Not so great that you imply the finished waste can be turned into safe compost. No state or federal agencies test for persistent herbicides such as aminopyralid. Neither does OMRI. These certifications are meaningless to farmers because we have no recourse if the compost poisons our soil for several years.

How much digestion take time for a fenished digestat .to be taken off from tunnels ? And does this aerated anaerobic digestion produce less biomethane (biogas) than the known liquide digestion ?

Why we need this process instead of this organic waste is also digested in soil and not harmfull

Great to see the by-product being used to fuel the collection vehicles and also the general operations of the site. One questions though, besides the sale of the final compost, how does this kind of business finance its operations? Many thanks.

Very interesting, thank you for sharing. I'd love to see how this technology develops in the next 10-15 years. Household digesters? A very exciting time, I hope you continue to grow.
