Hello! Greetings from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil!
I've been learning for 6 months with your video contents about power BI and recommending it for other people in my neighborhood.
Thanks for the content and great success!
Just Wow.....with Baz its PREMIUM or nothing. AMAZING content everytime. You've got a lifetime fan from Ghana. Thank you for sharing❤🎉😊🎉
Awesome thanks 🚀🚀🚀
Love these design tutorials! I've been using your tips & tricks a lot lately, thank you!
Awesome Eldin! :):)
As usual, your set skill is endless! I spend countless hours watching and practicing with your videos. I wish I had enough dashboards to develop to incorporate 1/4 of your awesome work!!!!
I bet your company would love for you to create 4x more reports ... just not sure if they would also pay you 4x 😅
Great video, as always - and the first seconds speak from my heart!
A tip for the disconnected table: create one with VALUES. When another category will be implemented, you don't have to maintain the manual input. Works just as fine.
Thanks Pete :)
I discovered your channel by chance (somehow the algorithm proposed one of your videos in my feed).
I love your videos. Very well presented, very detailed. They're just fantastic!
I kind of wait for your videos just like waiting for the next episode of my favorite series… Huge creativity! Thank you for sharing these with us!
Ahh Serenat:) this made my day! Totally wanted to be a tv personality… in Power BI ;)
Thank you for a great video. Slicers is always one of those things I struggle with visually on reports. Always a challenge to not make them just look bland and dull. This video helped a lot in terms of creative ideas.
That’s great! I am super happy it is helpful:) 👍
Awesome video like always, Bas! Huge inspiration. Hope Microsoft gives us more conditional formatting control in the base visuals, shapes etc.
I also hope for this Leon, but in the meantime….
thank you. I've learned a lot from your videos, i'll apply this design for my slicer right away.
Awesome! 😎 let me know the result :)
Another fantastic (as always) tip! Your videos are eagerly awaited for the next episode of your favorite TV series.
I am sure I will apply your tricks to my desktops.
Thanks Cezary! Hhaha always dreamt about owning a tv channel! ;)
Wow!
This is packed with innovative tricks, and is joyful to watch!
Thanks Bas!
Thanks a lot Amr! Much appreciated and super happy to hear it is fun to watch :):) totally my aim
This Guy ! OMG.. my creativity lvl just droped -100
:):) slight exaggeration?
Loved the intro. My feeling exactly!
Love your videos ! A hot bearded guy with biceps teaching BI... what a blessing
Love your videos. Thanks Bas. You've really improved my Power BI skills
Yey! Totally my goal, very happy for you, all the best!
Beautiful work with the Design Bas, keep it up!
Thx Juan!
Exactly what I was waiting for and the content was once again at another level👌👏🙏
Hey Alex! :) super happy to hear this coming from you! 🙏 thanks
Aaaaammmaaizing!!!! The last trick with a tooltip option is the best ive seen in a while
Yey! Thx Manuel! :)
Every second of your video is a gem❤
Thanks for the video, love how you just use native visual to create this look.
:):) thanks!
Great content as always Bas. That's a lot of work I'd say and hoping that MSFT can improve/simplify this trick.
Thanks for continuing to put out solid content! Really well done!
Glad it is helpful, thanks for watching it
Amazing video
Making Power BI design better everyday!!
You're amazing!!
Thank you for the amazing content, as always!
super welcome Rafael :):)
Thanks for this tutorial ! Very nice ! 😉
Awesome content!👏Thanks for sharing👍
Nice - thanks for sharing man!
You are awesome bro , simple & efective 👌
Brilliant Idea Bro, Totally helpful video bro🥰, just waiting for all these to be provided as part of conditional formatting by Microsoft so that it saves a lot of time and adds more value to the tool
Really, amazing clips
You are always creative in creating easy ideas, beautiful designs, and easy and wonderful ways
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks a lot!
Salute to your efforts man.
Thx Rafi!
Thanks for another brilliant video, Bas! Here is a challenge for you: how to create a custom legend that fits on page if there are a large number of categories? Instead of having to click to show the rest of the hidden legend. This would be very useful if the report is shared as a PDF or on a big screen where the user cannot click to see the rest of the legend. Thank you!!
Overlaying a picture with the custom legend won't work?
Really cool videos, man. I am applying your ideas to my job!
Awesome 😎 Juan!
Thanks Bas for these great ideas!
Thanks Maan!
When generating the department disc table, would it not make sense to do it from Power Query based on the actual dimension to make sure we do not miss new values? Irrespective of this, your videos are amazing!!
Awsome Bro, you are so great, definitly you take PBI to the next level... Excelents tricks, I have to apply them.
:) glad to hear this! Good luck
Hats Off to your Effort !!
Thanks Tarun, much appreciated!
That was epic!
Nice one Bas. Thanks for sharing 💥💥💥
I love all your video 😍.
Um. I wish I could give this video like 5 likes, one for each part. Mind blown.
Hopefully Microsoft improves the tools available for the slicers without these workarounds, but in the meantime these are great, especially the tooltip idea towards the end.
:) ah thats nice! Indeed I still dont get how the selected value needs to always be black, even page and bookmark navigation can have different colors on selected state…
i never think about it, cool video.
:)
thanks for sharing BAS, excellent ideas
:):) happy to hear this thx!
AWESOME !!!
OMG! Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome 👏 😊 🙏 Love ❤️
Amazing trick 👌 👏 🙌 Best in the game. Thanks Bas
Thx Tosin! Much appreciated:)
Thanks for the learning, is there any way we can show "Select" instead of "All" in dropdown option of the slicer
its just awesome
Conteúdo excelente!
Thank you, for the video.
Question: based on this example, what if I only want see as options: Animal Health, Pharma, Vaccines and take away/delete: Business Services and Eye Care
another great video!
:)
I can assure That This is one of The best videos ..... liked
Yey! Glad you say so!
Very professional design, loveit
Yey! Super happy to hear this!
@@HowtoPowerBI I use many of your tips to upgrade my report .please keep making tutorial.😃
Ну респект. Спасибо за контент.
This is awesome
Thx Charles!
Lots of great tips. I have limited space so tend to use drop downs. It would be nice to see more tips for these but i guess it really is limited
Always amazed at how you can use the limited tools available to come up with some nice looking solutions. No chiclet slicer love though? Would be interested to see what you could do with it.
Thx Peter, loads of clicking around… yeah, you are right- im using native visuals 99.9% of time as not everyone can use custom visuals
Good job !!!
Thanks Nicolas :)
I think if they could somehow integrate the formatting options already available for bookmark/page navigator, it would already be a huge improvement but I won't keep my fingers crossed for that - it feels like native visual options have been neglected for a reason
Interesting thought, maybe indeed… thankfully there is usually a way to make it look “not horrible” i am 100% native visual guy
Ok
Love this, your work is on par with Guy in a Cube, keep it up man!
Thx for the feedback!
@@HowtoPowerBI A little issue though, in "vertical slicer with custom check boxes" when I click the slicer twice, its own check boxes appear and custom check boxes go into background in PBI Desktop. Is that expected?
good video as always, Bas, can you do a video about pbi language versions? There are some, but not sufficient
This guy is so ingenious.
Nice trick :)
Thx Niko!
Awesome
You are my Boss, Bas
This video is excellent master! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with the community.
Can I ask you a question? I have a statement with a list of payments, each movement is associated to a document number, the problem is that the payments can be cancelled N amount of times and reapplied, either to the same doc or to another one. I would like to use Power Query to keep only the last odd (non) occurrence of the payments, but if the number of payments is even, discard them all. That is, if doc 1 had 1 payment, 1 cancellation and 1 payment again, only keep the third transaction, but if doc 2 had a payment and it was cancelled, but it was not paid again, discard all the payments of doc 2.
Do you think you could help me? Thanks in advance for your time.
Hi
Very useful 👍
Awesome to hear this Ibby!
Hey can you create a content on tooltips being displayed on measures instead of columns? Read it from a website that it’s actually possible thanks!
Have there been any improvements to this in later versions? Seems a major oversight not to allow changing the select colour.
Still the same 🤭
Can we implement RLS on image level
Show de bola o seu conteúdo...quero replicar..
17:50 still be better?! Great job!
@12:40 could you just add a table via DAX with ALL( dimDepartment[Department] ) ?
Yes that would be better
Waiting for your reply.... I subscribed immediately after seeing one of your videos and couldnt stop referring your tips post that - 😎. I have a big question, if I get the answer I will feel lucky ??????? How to avoid the ADDITIONAL SPACES on the slicer box when we are showing it as a button ?????, It is really annoying when we have multiple slicer. Any tips on this will be a great help.... ?????????❓
Thanks
:)
Did not know you could put uniocode chars in your measure if statement!!! I've been faffing around with conditional formatting all this time!
Unicode is life :)
Good job
Thanks a lot!
Hi sir there is challenging task from my client on the on new, old, recovers and lost customer...sir i can provide the data for u to prepare...the viedo
AWSOME! I LOVE THESE TRICKS TO OVERCOME LIMITATIONS:)
Happy to hear this thx!! ☺️
thx you
Thanks for watching Salah!
May I have the file .pbix from you? Thankyou
Great tricks over there
There are some problems thought
1. The technique might not work well when a new item/department is added to the data later, at least for the alignment part
2. One needs many non-conected tables, one for each slicer
I just hope Microsoft will hire you for one month to fix this issue and come back to us 😅
Agree Yassir, it is more for static filters.. definitely it is not ideal but it maybe a solution in some cases… haha 😂 i like it here on UA-cam :)
You could create the disconnected tables in Power Query by simply duplicating the DIM table and just choosing the column/s you need. That way it would stay current when the departments change.
finely i got how to change my slicer into horizontal. i got stuck because my slicer was in hierarchy so the slicer setting does not open for orientation options
Awesome!
anyone knows how to change sequence in slicer?
Noice!
👏👏👏👏
you can rename the column to a space character to also make it invisible in a table .
Have you used the chiclet slicer? I much prefer it to the native slicer.
Agree not a big fan of custom visuals though…
He seguido el tutorial al pie de la letra pero, obtengo todo X cuando selecciono un elemento y si selecciono Ninguno obtengo el Check
I’ve got a challenge?!…I need help with creating a MILEAGE report with 3 vehicles. I need to create Average of Miles per WEEK,MONTH, & YEAR using a Date Table. I haven’t been able to find a good function to use in DAX.
Need Help 😫😤😂
please explain power app also ....
Have a look
ua-cam.com/video/uPHwjPRnRwE/v-deo.html
in my case the biggest problem was there were many slicers needed on the page and they occupy a big part of space, so less for actual viz........
Have a look at the latest video this maybe helpful here The ULTIMATE Slicer Panel in Power BI
ua-cam.com/video/QaOG42ic2wI/v-deo.html
Yes, Power BI is missing simple options which makes it hard to use it
Agree
%!$@#% :Z :| WTF!!! AMAZING!!!!!
Hahah thanks :)
sir, that would be 6,67
Thanks for the video, nice tips. However as it a technical video, you don't need to put your face while you explain.
Thx for the opinion, as you may have seen thats the editing i go for for all my videos
@@HowtoPowerBI Yes I saw, but isn't the important thing to watch is what you're showing rather than your face. (Not saying you're ugly :P)
Haha I want everyone to remember my face forever ;)
Nice video! Thanks. Tip: u sound like u "do a voice" instead of just relax and speak the way u normally speak.
