- Some of you asked me to do a video on the Warn Zeon control pack relocation kit for the Warn Zeon winch. I also bought and installed the Innovative JK Products winch cover plate, and made an aluminum bracket for the Warn control pack to mount in the Jeeps engine bay. Thanks for checking it out!
Great video, I am installing a Zeon 10s into my 392 this weekend with the relocation kit and in cab controls. The few times I have had to use a winch over the past 30 plus years having in cab controls has saved my ass a couple of times. Clean install, look forward to seeing more videos from you.
Nice install! I'm eying doing this on my TJ to get some more airflow. Love the HF shots too!
Thank you. That was my goal too and looks minimalistic and cleaner upfront
Great video, waaay better than the WARN video. Great job!
Thank you man!
The usual outstanding JEEPARMY video! 🔥
Freshhh! Clean install man! Hell yeah!
Hell ya bro, lovin this new setup.
Thank you, very well done. I need to do the same with my Z10.
Attention to detail. Great work! 75-80 in. lbs. on terminal nuts.
Great video,
I have a question for you. I have a 2017 Tacoma and bought the same Warn Zeon winch and bought the same relocation kit you installed. My question is, if I wanted to keep my Warn box and just relocated it in a different spot it can reinstall after attaching all the new cables in the Warn box, right?
Do you have any videos on installing the power for the winch from the cab?
Nice vid. Wondering if this is the same process for Zeon 12? My mount is for inside of bumper and not sure if it’ll fit without relocating that? Already bought winch but haven’t opened it up and investigated it yet
I think it’s like this for all zeon models. Let us know whenever you investigate yours
@@JeepArmyUSA sounds good
What happens the port for the wired remote control. Can it stay with the winch or does it need to go into the engine bay with the control pack... Don't want to have to open engine bay to plug in... Any options?
The port can be extended to desired location, a wireless remote receiver can be used, or what I’m doing is snipping off the port and wiring in-cab switches.
How did you run "in cab winch buttons" like you stated in the video? Is there a separate kit for that?
How did you shorten the + cable?
Did you notice any lower engine coolant temps as a result?
Maybe just a tad bit but that winch controller wasn’t really blocking the rad that much to begin with. And definitely no change while slow wheelin. It is nice getting the controller out of the elements but now it’s also in a hot engine bay so that’s the trade off. I would still do this mod over again. I like the simplicity of it, Less is more kinda thing.
Great video! Looks very nice and slim. What did you put on the upper side instead of the bulky empty control pack?
Thank you 🙏🏽 and it’s an Innovative JK Products Warn Zeon Winch Cover

There’s better pics of it on my IG @jeeparmyusa
@@JeepArmyUSA Cant find this product online or the pic on your IG
@@AEsco48 I can’t find them ether. Maybe they no longer make them.?.
Looks like they no longer carry it. Give them a call.
What size braided wire loom did you use for the 3 large gauge wires running to the winch ?
It was either 3/4 or 3/8. Best thing to do is measure the cable first to be sure. I can say for sure that I got that braided sleeving from the Alex Tech Store on Amazon. I got 25’ of 3/4 and 25’ of 3/8
This is a great video, thank you! Did you ever make a cover ?
Thanks and a cover for which part exactly?
@@JeepArmyUSA oh in the video you had mentioned you were thinking about making a cover for the box/solenoid itself.
also if i were to do this same process then mount the solenoid in the grill somewhere, do you know if its can be exposed to water, say driving in rain?
No I decided not to make a cover because those connections are covered by those rubber boots and it’s been fine. I would keep it out of the rain for sure and mount it somewhere high and dry in the engine bay and away from the engine
@@JeepArmyUSA Thank you!
Thanks alot for this video!
Thanks for checking it out
Where did you get those particular terminal boots for the wire ends?
Those boots came with the Warn kit
@@JeepArmyUSA thanks I’ll have to contact them as my kit did not come with them.
Just fyi, they’re a pain to get on. In hind sight I should have used some lube to slide them on.
@@JeepArmyUSA got it. Thanks for the info.
what half doors are those i been really wanting some
Mopar half doors.I really like them
Where can i purchase long cable
www.warn.com/control-pack-relocation-kit-89960 this is what I used for my model winch. Yours could be different. But essentially I ordered it from warn’s website
Are you wheeling any more?
Yes
I just have one question, Why?
Better air flow to to Rad and get controller out of the weather
Why not just remove the top tie plate instead of unspooling all the rope?
You have to unspool to make enough room to get to the fasteners that secures the top plate. It doesn’t seem like you would have to but I tried without unspooling, and there wasn’t enough room to reach the fasteners.
@@JeepArmyUSA Yep I get that, I'm referring to the torx screws that hold down the tie plate (the bracket you unscrewed the controls from comes off too) instead of starting with the "hidden screws". Then could unbolt the control box (screws no longer hidden) from it and put the tie plate back on with the 4 screws. Most videos do what you did, when there are 4 screws that come right out on the tie plate. Not sure if there's a reason for that, but seems way easier. Tx
the Tie Plate is the bracket you leave on the winch, which becomes the top when the control box is gone. The control box bolts to the Tie Plate, the Tie Plate to the winch.
I see what you mean. To me, doing it this way would be easier to follow and come across less daunting through the camera. I wanted to disassemble in sections if you will.
@@JeepArmyUSA Yep...just did mine and removing the top plate worked fine. My winch is in a bumper and I only have access on the top, removing a major PITA. For those that have the same situation, removing the top plate works like a charm with the added benefit of not having to unspool the line. tx for the video
Your title should have been Warn Zeon Relocation Kit Install for JEEP...thanks anyway!
This control pack relocation kit is for any vehicle running a Warn zeon winch. If a Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner was running a zeon winch, they too could run this control pack relocation kit. Thanks for watching!
