Carp Fishing
Here's a link to the ridge monkey video regarding putting the bivvy up.
Unfortunately I didn't see this prior to trying to put mine up. • EscAPE Bivvy Range - H...
Each and every time I put up my tempest bivvy, I marvel at the simplicity of how quickly and easily it goes up. While it was explained to me, I've never looked at any instructions for it.
And I haven't for my tempest either mate.
This was a bit more complicated though. It'll fly up next time I put it up
Everyone saying it takes 30 mins to put up..... the bloke was unboxing it for the first time & talking all the way through it & secondly everyone saying it’s too big & useless for the uk..... that’s like me saying a 50” brolly is useless for fishing rainbow?
It’s clearly made for anglers fishing European lakes where moving isn’t an option or at least not very often.....haters always gonna hate.
Good review mate 👍
At last someone who can see the video for what it is! 😆
2nd one should be uploaded this evening showing me putting it up now i know what im doing. Thanks again mate. Subscibed to your channel too.
Off to parco in 2022 and my bivvybis coming with me! 😆😉
to be fair when uve put it up once and taken it down once its dead easy and dead quick the second time round.. Easier than any other bivvy ive owned :)
@@markhorspoolcarpfishing9278 thanks for the video mark only just seen it .. I was just wondering how long do u think after a little practice it takes to put up the bivvy please ? Not the porch .. just it does look a really good job for a wk session or longer but the time is my only concern
Imagine the fun and games you'd have putting that up in a strong wind lol
I'd love one , ideal for a weeks fishing , you just can't beat space , very good video , and explained well 👍
I have the 2man compact and I was the same the first time I set it up. And like you the second time and the first time on the bank it was up in about 8 minutes in the rain and wind. Never moved a inch in strong wind and rain . I love mine, the quality is there to see. Good review mate I was thinking of doing one but now I don't have too👍
Please do a review. There is not to many out there.
Somehow I don't think people have grasped the fact this bivvy/hotel is aimed at European adventures. Yes it is huge, yes it is heavy but when you spend a week on the bank in one swim, you want some luxury and room! Sure no one in their right mind is going to buy this for over nighters.... Thanks for sharing the review as I'm sure this will help people that actually wish to buy one 👍
Does this need Planning Permission ?
Great vid mate - that is an absolute BEAST of a bivvy and im sure you'll be comfortable!
its terrible. thank you for saving my money))
Thank you , just brought one second hand, only been used once, so will give it a go tomorrow
thanks for the very good otb review
Bravo Man, you tried very hard to put it together, it was noticeable that at some point you really didn't know what to do next. Everything is very honest, thanks! I give a like not to the tent, but you are a man, you are great, there is no tent!
You have the Patience of a Saint Good Job THX
I’ve got the xf1, and I love it, the only issue is the weight of them. And you don’t get instructions. Luckily the syndicate I’m on, you can drive to the swims. The mozzie door is worth getting too 👍🏻
Out of my price range, but appreciate you sharing the video & not just showing it going up in 10 mins,
That plane though!! 🛩💥 😂😂 great review and an awesome bivvy 👍🏼
Can't get over the size of this, I used to spend two weeks at a time in the summer catting and two weeks in the winter piking using a Kevin Nash 50" canvas overwrap and that was more than adequate for me and all my gear!
As a bivvy to take on long fishing trips it look perfect and very good quality, but to use for anything less than 72 hours you wouldn't in your right mind take this with you.
I'd buy one for sure
Nice video buddy, was thinking about getting one myself 👍
Not sure if I like it enough for the big price tag. Thanks for sharing. Mike
Well I have just bought a compact Ridgemonkey...first time putting it up took around 2 to 3 minutes maximum from taking it out of the bag to putting the ground sheet in ...great bivvy just a bit heavier than others which I can cope with
What happens when the tension bars in the roof loosen in the heat of the day and fall on you while you chill out on the bed.
Every time I see these it reminds me of the sort of shelters that the army put up to house people after a disaster. Once you’ve put it up, do you queue for bottled water and add your name to a list of survivors?
Just got round to watching this. I’m in the market for a new bivvy and not sure whether to stick with what I know and get the Nash Titan T2 MkII or the one man version of this. I’m lucky that I only really fish France so weight is not a massive concern for me either but you can still move, but the majority of the lakes on the continent that I fish, the van is right behind the swim so not a biggy. The one thing I love about the Titan is the fold out design, inner capsule is in place, as is the groundsheet so it’s very straightforward on your own - being that I struggle with a disability in my back this looks hard unless you’re just using it as standard. Good video.
Genius with fly sheet zip. I do fancy getting the one man but will need to see one of those in the flesh.
Came up with the same solution with the fly sheet zip lol
What is the mat called that you build the tent on ? And where can i get one from ? THX
GREAT VID
The word scaffolding comes to mind 😂
I know what my Xmas gift is going to be from the wife lol nice video
Brilliant Mark thank you, is that the largest model or is there a bigger one?
Thanks for that mate. I'll be doing another video in a week or two to show how easy they are to put up now i know what I'm doing. 🤣
Yeah, this is the largest one, the that is called the 'Standard'. The smaller 2 man is called the compact. 👍👍
I can't believe the price. I guess I'm used to dyneema mtl. so the cost seems to be a relief. I don't care about the weight so much on this one I'll just be throwing it in my humvee. Thanks for the info. it was helpfull, I would have already bought one but I couldn't believe the price. Don't think I'll be buying as much cuben fiber stuff, I didn't realize how much money I had been blowing. might be worth it if your carrying it on your back but I'm likeing the price and size of this one. Thanks again for the review
Love all the comments about its to big for most pegs a tempist is better etc etc it’s designed for long European trips where moving isn’t an option and you drive to the back of your swim I’ve got one and for long sessions it’s perfect
One week on and legend has it he's still packing this away.
🤣🤣
@@markhorspoolcarpfishing9278 👍😂
good video mark some fun moments there 😁😁 top banana mate
I reckon when in France that is coming down on the Friday, not the Saturday morning. Friday night under the brolly or in the van.
bloody hell mark i thought barbara windsor was gonna make an appearance...lol
They should make a version for campers with ordinary windows, maybe with plastic see-thru on too. High quality but..... so expensive
Thanks mate!
Perfect for stalking.
stalking with bivvy ?.
@@rogerhausoul232 it's a sarcastic remark like the bivvy is so small I could stalk with it... or not.
Or overnight sesion... quick, lightweight and easy set up :) @Mark Horspool Carp fishing nice detail video! People who is interested could take a big idea of what to expect of this product.
@@BoombCarp mate its bigger than my house, id use that as a garage next to my bivvy to park the van.
So glad I got the tempest 200
Great video bud
Was thinking of getting one , after seeing this I won’t be , seems a pain in the ass , thanks for saving me a £1000 plus
Prober everyday user video 👍👍
Hi mate. Take a look at part 2, not so much of a faff when you know what your doing. 👍
Hello I have got the same but haven’t unboxed the porch yet ! Was hoping to see how to put it up as when I put the bivvy up on the bank in France I had to watch the ridgemonkey films and they aren’t very detailed . Will look at website for the dl pdfs though thanks for that info
Great if its flat and have bags of room and three weeks later there we have it bet its bloody cold in winter or do you have to buy a very expensive heater
Great idea and pics of kit , downside is it won’t go in most cars , you need to have had your weatabix to carry it lol and if your only 5ft 6 I found it a fight to put it up , tho a simple idea I wanted to like it but but it up once and sold it
Wow considering you did that on your own and no instructions you did well. Although I would think you would need 2 people to put it up in bad weather. Happy fishing trips. X
I'd need 2wks fishing to get over putting it up!
Only two downsides i found with this bivvy.. If you have a nash indulgence bed, the frame on the bottom of the bivvy is right where the legs sit. i had to sit my legs on the frame. and then the three holes at the top at the front above the door where the support bars clip on to.. i had to block these holes over france stop insects from getting in. well my daughter blocked them up with wet wipes lol.. Apart from that its superb! Tackled a few storms not a drop of water got in and it dosnt even come in through the mozzy mesh :)
Probably no longer to set up than my titan viper with extreme canopy... one of the originals and still going strong
Very nice
Tempest till I die.
How do you justify the cost? Plenty of quicker & lighter systems out there & way cheaper too.
If you want comfort stay home, fishing to me and part of the experience is all about roughing it.
I understand needing room when going abroad with a friend & having a few little luxuries but this is too extravagant for my liking.
I will congratulate you on a good review though, you have put me off this but you've done your job. All reviews make up people's minds be it good or bad. Spot on. 👌👍
The kip of it! 🤣
bought a spool of ridgemonkey line a few months back. That was absolutely horrendous. I wouldn't even insult my mackerel bashing reel by spooling it onto that.
I will stick to my titan t1 camo I think! 🤭
Good for you mate. 👍
You must live near Biggin Hill because I hear that plane all the time lol
It's a very massive biwy but he's strong, but longer for goes up.
It's only for a long session for a week or more ...
But i love this biwy with the porch
Lovely Bivvy but I’ve got no chance fitting one of those in the Toyota Aygo lol
Wow I'm bleeding knackered looking at u mate hope it serves u well the Krypton Factor hasn't got a patch on you. 😂
Watch pt2 mate. 👍
id have to go home again by the time I had set it up, if i can move from having carried it to the swim before hand.
Sod that for a laugh. I mean sure its nice once its all up but I have used the same bivvy now for years and years, it weighs next to nothing, is more than big enough to fit my bed chair, bivvy table and tons of gear inside and the over wrap gives me a porch yet I can have it all up and down within 10 minutes and moving swims is easy as anything too which is a big thing with much of our fishing now days. I think for a 2 week trip or something abroad this might be ok should the swim choice be fixed for that period of time but anything else, id never use it.
What a beast of a bivvy that looks perfect for a 72 hour + stint, just a shame it takes so long to put up, weighs so much and is so long when packed away.
Throw the lot in the bin, book into a hotel.
Well I’m defo put off tbh looks proper Agg got to have more money than sense to buy that
I have managed to set up my 6 berth caravan and awning and side pod, make a cuppa and still have time to watch the end of the video.
Bit shocked you can see day light by the pole joints. Serious bit of kit, looks like it is designed for a couple of weeks fishing at a time. Good luck and tight lines
Hi! Do you have a problems with condensation? If so how much?
I have never suffered with condensation in the main bivvy but I always use the fly sheet. O have had condensation in the porch but that is single skinned.
ua-cam.com/video/bo5jFvZqQCA/v-deo.html Not like this?
@@markhorspoolcarpfishing9278 If the ground is not flat how much of a problem is it compared to other bivvys?
I really like this bivvy but its the price I cant get behind, Its moving from the realm of fishing into camping, but I guess it could be easily used for both.... So might be worth its price.
Well impressive thp
How long did this take you to put up?
Watch pt2 mate, gives you a better idea how long it takes. 👍
Thanks , that’s put me off buying one 👌🏻
Check out pt2
Brill review but 2 me its 2 much messing around if rather it go up in mins i dont like how to have to put the bars in and build it up but thank you for the review
We brought the xf2 compact with the outer bit and was very disappointed as no ground sheet came with it. And has we was in france we didn't take one .. for the price 1300.. was not happy people
Fair enough but I watched the videos ridge monkey did and also looked on the website where I bought it from and everywhere stated it was an optional extra not complete with it.
Christ Mark remember how that went back in
I think it’s better to remove this video.
I own also a xf2 with porche and people don’t understand the concept off this bivvy.
Your second video shows the quality off this bivvy.
Like you, I don’t understand why people criticize things they haven’t been using.
Not for me as most venues I fish wouldn't have room for this and only do 24 or 48!
But if you was spending weeks or months at a venue I could see it has a purpose??
Good honest review though would have liked to have known the weight and the actual time it took to put up/pack down
Seemed a lot of metal work??
Good luck with it
Interesting to see how it goes up, looks a nightmare, wouldn't want to set up in strong winds.
Very straightforward. I know this is a late comment … piece of cake 🎂
Thanks for this review, warned me away as it looks so bloody heavy and over 30mins to put. It's not for me. I've currently got the Fox R series xl 2 man. Take a look.
Yes its heavy but putting it up will be a lot easier now i know how its done. Give me a week or two and I'll upload another video showing how quickly it does go up. Subscribe to my channel so you don't miss it. 👍
why does everyone tuck the flaps in under the bivvy, they are designed to stop the rain splashing specs of mud onto the sides.
Good bivvy for a long session though, tempests are a struggle to compete against though
Your right mate. To be honest i always used to with my oztent, just habit I guess from using my other bivvy. 👍
I wised up to Carp fishing this year! It's just a bugs game and the tackle companies are taking the piss now! This whatever you call it a bivvy/shelter is a horror show.
What happened to the rear window when the fly sheet went over. Seriously not liking these at all. It's a bit like 'Carry on Camping' with Sid and Bernie.
Hi mate. Keep your eye open on my page, ill be uploading another video later today where I answer your question. 👍👍
Somewhere for my 🚙 😂
V good mate something you'd go half on for 2 of you. Goin to france an so on
And it only took a whole day to put up........ Where can I purchase 12!!! my local lake has got planning permission to put it up so I'm cruising
Watch pt2
That thing is mega huge... he was blowing out his ass putting that up.
£1500 for a bivvy and porch and they don't do instructions.....
As I explained mate, there is some PDF's on their website. There's also a short how to video too from RM, I've put the link in the description. Is it the best? Probably could be improved to be honest, I'm going to do another video in the next weel or so showing how easy it is to out up now i know what im doing.
Subscribe to my channel so you get notified once I upload it.
If that's how much a marquee cost will that definitely carp fishing gone mad and you need a lorry to transport it in due to the weight
made up I didn't get one , need to be a juice head to cart that and all ya gear to ya Swim and everyone fuckin laughing at ya Barrow tipping over every 10 yards 😂😂😂😂 still liked the video for saving me money 😂😂👍
Watch my 2nd one mate.
@Mark Horspool Carp fishing yeah I did give it a watch mate 2nd one a lot better once you got your head round putting it up and listened to why you got it and tbh absolutely perfect for a week in France if ya not moving about ,weight was the big issue for me trakker 150 suited my fishing more 👍
More poles than my local river 😅
Maybe the outer is meant to be pram 👍
Start a struggling to get it up and cuts camera.. "That was easy to put up" 😂😂 definitely the most ridiculous looking and difficult bivvy to set up ever.... so glad my tempest takes 30 seconds from bag to being up
Just keep an eye out for my second video, I do a comparison between the tempest V2 system and winter skin v's the xf2 plus second skin. I wonder which one wins....😉
@@markhorspoolcarpfishing9278 It's only size that it wins on.. when it comes to function of use and being able to be able to move with ease but still have a strong reliable bivvy a tempest wins hands down..
It's personal choice I get that but it's going too far now with these things they're just way too big imo..
As much as I'd like one, I dont think I will buy one. Looks heavy and really awkward to put up. And I don't think the bag will fit on my Barrow....I dont think my back would take this much lol
Like I said on the video mate, they are bloody heavy but I wont be carrying it anywhere, ill just be unloading it from the van. 👍
Il stick with my tf gear 2 man Air flo after that set up you will be to fucked to fish then taken it down and near a grand for all that nah don't get me wrong to quilty materials used but happy to put few pegs in blow up my bivvy and happy fishing
That’s a huge bivvy
Takes some time setting it up
Wow that looks like a nightmare mate I’ll stick with the Titan
At half the price it's still expensive, if it had been designed for coarse fishing it would be @ £400.
Why is ridgemonkey obsessed with making things square, I wouldn't take that fishing if it was given to me ,thanks for the vlog 👍
That's got to be the biggest waste of bivvy money I've ever seen. 2 days to put it up and god forbid there is a strong breeze.
It looks like a unrefined oz tent.
Why is part 2 a private video is it because it was just as much a ball ache to put up the 2nd time around too 🤣😂
No mate, just wait. Had problems uploading it.
Part 2 uploaded now mate.
Hi mark did you go rainbow last month and if so when will we see the video please sir
For my overnighter I'll stick to my Nash Hide, up in less than 3 minutes. Cant imagine seeing many of these on the bank.
thats not bivvy thats a house have fun setting that up in the rain
It looks like a gazebo
So if ya can't drive to ya swim ya fxxxxd like to see a review 6 mths later
Not really mate. If that was the case I'd take my tempest instead.
I can put my tracker tempest 100 advance up in 4 minutes .. I’ve seen circuses do this quicker.. I’m not criticising you it’s a terrible bivvy that isn’t quick to setup. It’s a version 1 I’ll look at version 4
Well done 👍
Looks like the back of a American school bus and looks just as heavy
