- Here we see a man start off being coherent and with some usefull ideas, slowly fall apart after being mind f*cked by a crow!!
But amongst that there is a usefull hack to turn your XF2 flysheet and front porch into a shower room, handy idea for tent peg storage and pole storage....
Great Hack 👍 brilliant video…funny too 😂
Thannk you Lucy

What a bell
Just a couple of points...
I've bought one of these for my own overland setup (XF1 not 2) as I wanted a space where I could get changed or an extra space for an additional person to sleep (I have an Alucab RTT).
It can also be a space for socializing should it be raining or a sheltered place to cook, again if the rain is coming down, however...
I'm not so sure about your shower idea and here is why...
You really don't want the entry point to your tent sodden from water as it will end up inside the tent itself?
Don't forget, the floor in these tents are not sown it but rather velcroed which is not water tight.
Additionally, have you seen what soap does to a clean slippery glass door in a shower at home?
Can you imaging what tough soap marks from showering against the outside surface of your tent would look like in no time at all?
Lastly, its all a bit of a faff... You could have a pop up shower tent next to the main tent, have a shower, then in to the main tent without anyone taking any notice.
Pop up shower tents are so inexpensive that you could throw away after a season and get a new one for the next.
If you are going shower in that area then at least make sure the water is irrigated away using a cheap and cheerful paddling pool to stand in and a pipe from the pool drain leading away from the tent, that way the entry area will remain reasonably dry...
Really enjoy the content, great to see someone else using a Ridgemonkey for over-landing and totally agree that these tents make more sense than a OzTent...
Keep up the great work!!!
Hi Green Isle "(are you in Ireland by any chance?).....
Glad you are in the XF 2 club!
To answer your points...
The shower area is off to the side of the entry but more importantly, I can guarantee you from doing the same thing inside my old military 9x9 tent that the water always drains away super fast in any environment wether its a clay soil grass field or woodland. Once in Wales 3 people had 3 seperate showers within and hour and it was in wet conditions - the water just drains away every time.
Your XF1 does indeed have a velcro attachment for the ground sheet. The XF2 Standard is sewn in. Even though, I'm pretty sure the velcro is on the inside of the tent on yours so should be a problem with shower water run-off?
Soap scum build up has never been an issue in the many years I have been doing this. It's the tooth paste that tends to be sticky!
Pop up shower cubicles and tents are not my cup of tea (don't get me going on this topic!! lol). They always end up in land fill!
Glad you enjoy the content. See you on the next one!!
