If I am home and she is not, I do "it" (whatever that may be, like cleaning a bathroom, doing the laundry, or making lunch for my kid). If she is home and I am not, then she does "it." It all depends on our schedules. Some people say that the one who makes "more" should not have as much of the housework burden, but just because you make more money does not mean you work harder. My wife makes more than I do, but my hours are typically much longer (and more grueling). Hell, my dad made a great living but he barely did anything at all, lmao. He was always home.
