Veronica, thank you for the information. Big, who loves the Danish, made an assumption based on how it looks. However, Small, who likes to cook, was better able to describe at 5:29
Sorry, hope you don't mind a little correction at 5:48 Kongens Nytorv was founded by Christian the 5th it's from 1670. All house numbers in Denmark start from that point, starting with the lowest numbers from Kongens Nytorv and outwards. lol 😄Danish is hard to pronounce, it's called Nyhavn translated to english New Harbor..
Thank you! It was not clear what the starting date in history was exactly. We appreciate any and all information. Also, it was very difficult to get a tour since we were in Copenhagen for such a short time. And lastly, Danish is extremely difficult to pronounce. Are you from Denmark? Thanks for watching.
@@BigSmallTravel Yup, born and bred in Denmark. I fully understand that you can't see much of Copenhagen, 4 hours is not a long time, but it's still a good vlog. 😊 And yes, Danish is difficult, we speak with a potato in our mouth 😅 fortunately the majority of Danes speak English, at a very good level. Thank you for visiting..☺
@@Alhem11 Thanks, this compliment means a lot to us because you are from Denmark. Our aim was to show what little we could of Copenhagen. One big surprise is that Denmark is Europe's oldest monarchy! We love discovering historical facts like this even on short layovers. And finally, Danish pronunciation seems very challenging because the words are very long. Are you based in Copenhagen?
The reference to the Queen was a past queen perhaps. However, we did try to see what was written about the monarchy in general from what was available and through research. However, we were not aware the Queen abdicated. Thanks!
No! We need to return to see more in Denmark. Copenhagen was fun and beautiful, but much busier with tourists than we would have imagined. Have you been to Denmark?
you almost said Nyhavn correct the secon time however skip the e at the end, for some reason English speakers put an extra e at then end and say Nuhaven instead of Nyhavn
Thank you, Danish seems like a very challenging language to learn. Danish seems more difficult than German. For the two of us, Danish pronunciation is extra complicated because words are longer.
Yes, indeed! Thank you for watching. Either way, Danish seems quite challenging because of the length of the words and pronunciation. Are you from Copenhagen?
@@BigSmallTravel I believe I saw a rating, where the Danish language was rated 4th most difficult language to learn. You can learn to understand it, but speaking it, is a completely different fish. Don't be scared of the long words, they are often easy. We do use a lot of compound words, like Germans do. You can make up your own word, and we will understand them. Ohh, see there is a machine flying! It must be a flyingmachine (flyvemaskine). In Copenhagen there is a famous bakery called Lagkagehuset. It is a good example of a compound word. Lagkagehuset: Lag=Layer kage=cake huset=the house So it will become, the layercakehouse. Longest Danish word: Speciallægepraksisplanlægningsstabiliseringsperiode A German word: Rechtsschutzversicherungsgesellschaften Good luck 😉 EDIT: No, I am not from Copenhagen, but I have family there, so I have been there many times.
there is actually never cheese filling in a Danish in Denmark, there is vanilla creme or jam , and then there are cinnamon snail ect.

@@BigSmallTravel Yes, I live in Copenhagen, only two minutes walk from the harbor, 10 minutes from the town hall square, very central.
I'm sorry.. which current queen? xD
She abdicated in January, we now have a king ;)

You do know some Danish, you just don't know it. 5-10% of the English words originates from Danish (Norse), thanks to the Vikings.
