HERE is a detailed look into the lenses of three popular VR Headsets out on the market right now! The Samsung Odyssey Plus, HTC vive and Oculus Rift. All have pros and cons, but in this video I wanted to show you what each display looks like through the lenses using my 4K camera as your pair of eyes. Take a look at this video to see a few different environments that help capture different details in each headset!
Let's get in SteamVR, Elite Dangerous, Assetto Corsa and BigScreen BETA!
Which headset do you prefer? Is there something particular that stands out to you? Let me know in the comments below!

instead of showing headsets with sample images and videos, Please write their names, it's much easier for the viewers that way.
As someone who is a complete NOOB to VR and is trying to find comparisons without the ability to instantly recognize what each headset looks like, I couldn't agree more. It makes this video near useless
thanks both for the feedback. The idea is to use less space
@@Tyrielwood use short names. 2-3 letters. You are already using space. Replace those images with the names.
Bottom left or bottom right corners don't mean anything to most viewers anyways. People look at the center of the images.
Agree. I find these videos really difficult to follow, because rather than looking at the sample images, I’m spending a lot of time trying to figure out which black blob is which headset. Just put the names in, please.
@@Tyrielwood M8 the names would be better.
This is definitely the best Samsung Odyssey comparison video on UA-cam. The zooming in on each game is what I've been wanting to see but no one has a video that does it very thoroughly like you. Big thank you. 👍& a sub.

I wish oculus and vive would stop working on portable headsets and go back to working on pc connect ones
You do know they are also working on pcvr at the same time.........
Just becasue you don't know how to do two things at once doesn't mean a massive mulit-million dollar company can't.
@@evolicious but oculus outsourced a trash rift s
@@batowner1 Trash? How is that Thing trash? It is awesome ^^
@@batowner1 have you even seen any of the oculus in development technology they have shown? They are working on perfecting some truly next gen tech, a lot of it is actually looking to be amazing, but they are waiting until it is all ready to be put in a consumer product. Variable focus, high fov, eye tracking, hand tracking, markerless full body and face tracking, foviated rendering and so much more, and that's only what they have shown, there is so much more.
*COUGH* oculus rift s
Good Video! it shows how far VR has come in the last two years. For my first VR headset I wanted the Odyssey+ but i couldn't find anywhere that would let me import it(i'm from UK) at a reasonable price, even on black Friday, so rather than spend £520 i got the original Odyssey for £360 and its miles better than the Rift and Vive visually as you demonstrate, and dare i say it, its not far off the Plus, The SDE is only noticeable on large white flat areas. I'm an old fart(70 in feb) and it blew me away, it was so intense an experience it brought to mind my experiences in the 90's with certain Party drugs. FFS i fell over playing Beat Sabre trying to duck under the flying wall thing,Amazing. But my next headset will be at least 5K, 8K even better, inside out tracking and cordless. I cant be dealing with light towers/base stations and wires are so last century. Samsung are on to a winner with the Odyssey + and with what seems to be the same lenses as the Vive pro which is over twice the cost. If Oculus and HTC dont get there acts together in the next 12 months i can see them going to the wall.
(Would be my first VR headset for PC)
Is the odyssey plus good for AAA games? Will I have the same (or as good as) experience than using the rift or HTC? Does it track the controllers well (since it doesn't have those track boxy things the HTC has)
Ive just swapped from the Rift to O+. I loved my Rift but the O+ is so much better for image quality. I appreciate is hard to take video and photo through the lens... the O+ looks much better in real life. On the contrary to some reviews, the image is just as sharp as the Rift but with all the added benefits of extra detail, view distance etc.
Nice to hear. DO you play any DCS World? I'm really curious how it is for readability in the F/A-18 cockpit/HUD/Displays
Wait, has the Oculus Oddessy even been released yet ??
Has the Oddessy even been released yet ??
It has yeah, but sorry @@liviaoctavialatonia9950 it depends on what country you are from. You can't buy either O or O+ from the UK for example. I don't know where you live, but if it's not available where you live, I recommend using the following website if you want one www.bigapplebuddy.com/ but you need to pay shipping costs.
got the O+ but its honestly not that impressive, if you have good hardware then turn on SS to 2.0 on the rift and its pretty much the same, just less SDE on the O+ which never really bothered me anyways....
Awesome vid. But How do you record the lenses of the headsets.
Do you want accurate colors and a blurry image or a sharp image with extreme screen door effect?
Hi tyriel, I'm just waiting to get my oddysey plus soon, can you do a tutorial video how to use it, if we need to buy additional stuff like accesories for the VR , I heard that the USB cable is not long enough or something like that, and what games do you recommend?
Make sure put the back part of headstrasp far down until front headstrap lays perfectly FLAT on your forehead. Just dont wear like a hat. Google or youtube it for best game to buy. Wrath of Fire God is one of my favorite
I might make a video about accessories :) but for the tutorial, don't worry at all, it's all super easy to setup and start :) games? Superhot / SkyrimVR / Assetto Corsa / Eliite' Dangerous :)
Great Comparision. My Odyssey+ arrived a few days ago. First the negative things. Cable ist too short and too much light from outside through the lenses. But this can be fixed easily. Now the good part... the display quality is great!!!! Just the enjoyable and clear view i wished i had on the old vive. I truely recommend this device. For example playing "the lab" where you stand on top of a mountain. Looking at the distance with my old vive you can only see something that looks like mountains between a pixel meeting. With the Odyssey plus you can just sit down and enjoy the mountains and the horizon. I love it. But an additional 2 Meter extension for USB and HDMI is a must have for room scale.
thanks for sharing Christian! btw don't get too long cables or you are gonna start to have problems with the audio.. wmr are very sensible to extension cords
Mine just arrived, as well. My motherboard USB 3.0 didn't supply enough power to start the headset, so I bought a pci express usb expansion, and just plugged the headset in alone. It worked. Same problems as you. Short cable, and light getting in. I bought a thick piece of black felt for 40 cents, and 2-2 meter extensions that I found recommended for the Odyssey on forums. Double sided tape+pieces of felt fixed the light issues. Some more felt fixed the uncomfortable parts of the fit, and reduced wiggling on my head. The PC I'm using is absolutely minimum spec, and below in some areas, so my display was automatically reduced in quality, but was still far, FAR above the Oculus and Vive I had a chance to demo at a store. After about 15 minutes I just got immersed in all the different environments I could go to in steamvr, and 360 videos. Seriously, it messed with my head for a few minutes when I took the headset off. Now I just have to wait on my new PC. Hopefully in 12 more days...
Yeah, the Lab mountain demo was my first WHOA moment with the Odyssey plus, where it was far superior to my experience on other HMD's.
@@davem5276 Hey do you mind linking the forum you found the modifications on? My O+ ships on the 16th.

www.amazon.com/dp/B00NQB2XO6?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Both are working fine. The general consensus seems to be that any longer than 2 meters, you need to have a powered cable. Also, some USB 3.0 outlets don't supply enough power, and some cables are better than others.
Thank you for your awesome videos Tyriel. At midnight when the Samsung store was showing "out of stock" I panicked and bought a Rift. I'm super happy with it and this video makes me feel pretty good too.
that's great! The rift is still amazing, for sure the best hand presence experience! You will love it !
Wow , the rift holds up pretty well for older tech.
very very well!
Great video thank you. Question for you: I own a Samsung Odyssey+ and I play mainly Fallout 4, Skyrim, Doom 3, that type of game with lots of detail and I found the image to be blurry when I am not looking directly in the middle of the screen. In Fallout 4, when I look at my pipboy, text will be blurry unless I move my head, I end up having to adjust the sweet spot lower, but it is always a fight to find the right headset position. I am wondering if the Oculus screen would be better in Fallout 4 type of game (I heard many people saying the sweet spot on the rift is a lot better and just compensate for the smaller resolution). Many people are even saying the Oculus is just better overall in term of image sharpness just because of the really good sweet spot. On the other hand people are saying the FOV of the Odyssey is a lot better, some are saying it is the same FOV, other that the resolution difference between Oculus and Odyssey is night and day, etc.I could buy an Oculus and try it and return the headset I don't want, but I don't want to lost time and money and I trust you so I am asking: Do you think overall the Oculus give a better experience in term of image quality when you are actually playing a game, especially because of the larger sweet spot? By the way, my head morphology is similar to you.
Alex Anabolic did you ever get the rift ?
@@cornflake6249 no
hey man, cold you compare the odyssey+ with quest 2 TTL please ?
Any thoughts on the Acer ojo 500, I know it's just a small upgrade over the previous one but do you think it's worth it since it's got IPD adjustments? I'm thinking of getting this one or the Lenovo Explorer.
Dont buy Acer ojo ,buy Lenovo explorer.
I tried to contact them directly but no info yet.. do you know your IPD?
It's for a small VR arcade like setup so I figured having IPD adjustments is an advantage over the 110° FOV.
The sharpness of the Odyssey+ seem to be lacking... was that perhaps because you didn't get a a good focus with the camera that you were using? Maybe you had different Super sampling settings in the SteamVR menu...?
Can you do regular vive instead of the gear VR mod please
Are you using supersampling for these images? Thanks
Probably not
it's all sampled to the same pixels., so rift and vive supersampled to get to the odyssey res
Hi Tyriel. Could you show us differences between lens view supersampling 100% vs 140% in Odyssey+ ?
good suggestion :)
@@Tyrielwood not sure if I just haven't found the vid or if it hasn't been done?
Odyssey+ for image quality? Rift for community and slight edge on controllers? Vive for accessories?
we need all of them in one ^^
I own both the vive and rift and the vive IRL has a slight edge in image crispness over the rift and it fills my view, while playing skyrim VR for example on the rift I can see the black border surrounding my eyes, it is like I am looking at 2 tv screens in front of my eyes but on the Vive it is not noticeable, the vive is also better for 360 tracking but my rift on has 2 sensors atm, the rift is what I use more as it has a better controller with analogs. I have yet to try the Samsung.
we need a mesh of all of those!
The Samsung *is* a mesh of all of those.
Hi mate. Thanks for the video.
I'm currently looking at buying VR for sim-racing only...
I still can not decide which one to get. But judging by this video, Samsung are defo the better quality picture... I'm just not so sure about the tracking without any sensors??..... can you elaborate on what the Samsung's tracking is like compared to the vive and rift?
I will prob make a video about trakcing in the near future :)
I have the rift and has a lot of sde, more close to what Vive looks on this video, the rift looks almost on par with the O+, it's not possible Right? I have O+ coming home.
@Tyriel a friendly advice, don't use autofocus when camera is focusing on you, it's always blurry ;-)
Im not sure how he record this video but sde is day and night differece between odyssey plus and oculus. Look at other youtubers review. Just dont wear like a hat on Plus and back headstrap come far down until front part lays FLAT on your forehead
@@ji3200 But if you do what you just said "backside all the way DOWN" there wil be a LOT of empty space between your head and the headset, and below the head too... it's extremely NOT immersive at all.
To get close to the screen/lens the back of the headset needs to be up.
Frankly the Odyssey has a terrible HMD design, nothing like the PSVR which is excellent, or even the rift is better , they both get very close to your head... (and i have all 3, speaking from experience)
@@heyjeySigma put back part strap down until front foam lays perfectly flat on your forhead so im not saying far far down. You wont loose fov or blurry view. Most odyssey owners dont wear properly becausr they wear like a hat. Comfort is like a dream compare to my vive with Delux audio strap
Have also a Rift and got my O+ this week. Man.. it's DAY AND NIGHTS! Seriously! Also seems like I am a person whos immersion profits VERY MUCH from the better image. I would buy it again!
@@heyjeySigma I don't like the psvr it takes me ages to get it to sit right on my head and face so when the visor comes down it is just right. a lot of the times it does not sit on my face right and I see light from the outside or everything is blurry takes a while for me to sort it
much prefer the rift...soon as its on my head that's it
Hi Tyriel, I love you videos and been searching for a through the lenses comparison of the Samsung Odyssey+ vs Rift S. After seeing this video here I ordered a O+ as my first VR headset 3 weeks ago when at 299 and would like to be able to compare it with the Rift S as I still am in my return window. I know O+ is one of the best screen and that Rift S is not as good. But I'd like to be able to judge the trade off for better controllers and tracking. Unfortunately my return window does not extend enough for me to try both devices at home at the same time.
I will do some car racing games, but I think most my time will be spent in FPS and room scale games. So far the tracking has not been that bad, but still far from perfect.
Should I keep my 299 O+ or return it to get the Rift S ?
Thank you very much.
I’d consider swapping. I have the odyssey plus right now and visuals are great but there are so many other problems that it comes with making it beyond frustrating at times. The software being one of those
FYI this test is outddated. WMR subsystem had scaling problems with the O+ the entire time until may update 2004. The device looks nearly 2x as sharp now and that is not a joke. Go ahead and check WMR subreddit.
Couldnt you up supersampling on Odyssey plus and make it even better!!!

Why dont u just post the names of which is which. Having the headset in the corner is stupid, they look the same !!

Actually, they don't t look the same. Vive has is black the Vive Pro us blue. Both the Cuve sets have a very distinct look and have craters and look like Swiss Cheese on the front. They are very bulky as well. Rift is very streamline and the most basic looking. Oddesey has 2 cameras on the front, one on each of the lower corners. Oddessey doesn't need the base refelctors for location and head tracking. It is all done I eternally with the cameras. So, they don't really look all that much the same to the trained eye. Just look at images of each head set a few times until you are familiar with what each set looks like.

does gear vr mod on vive/pro make sde worse?
yes, but enhance the clarity by a lot!
die hier verwendete odyssey scheint kaputt gewesen zu sein, auf meiner ist das Bild schärfer und das auf einer 1060 6g
I own the rift. I wanted to get an odyssey but they only sell in the US, so that is off the table. Import taxes are far too much. And if it needed sending back, well that would be off the table too.
Before getting the rift, I had only tried the vive, and I could clearly see every pixel. On the rift I have to focus to see them. Which is strange as I thought they both had the same specs. However the lenses on the rift are far too reflective. White backgrounds or text shine right through unnaturally. But I do prefer the rift I think.
and how does a vive pro compare to this?
check my other video!
7:05 when you zoom in it really shows which headset looks best
So which one is better? I can't tell which one is which? All the black blob looks the same...
They’re all pretty similar. You really won’t notice the differences in game. Oculus has the best controllers and the Vive has the best tracking.
Is the original rift LCD? The black levels are awful.
Odyssey looking real sexy right about now. I think I'll buy
i bought one for 329 just as the plague started to ramp up. now they are 550! no rifts in sight. 10/10 great headset
samsung odyssey X Rift s which is the best option?
Depend of the price, at 400 USD the rift S is expensive.
I just bought the Odysey+ and I can't wait to try it and Seriously my fav in the video is the Vive really more clear and my second choice is the is the Odysey+ but the image look blurry so I can't wait to see that when I am gonna try it :P in 5 days :P
LewdGeek is it good?
I own the Oculus Rift CV1 and the HTC VIVE and the visuals that are shown here are way off. There is no way that the headsets are all configured the same way. Also when you have the headsets on your really not going to see that much of a difference although there is between the VIVE and the RIFT the way you have it in this video. Seems to me like you would really have to do some supersampling to the graphics to make it look like that.
What doesn't get talked about enough IMO are the controllers. Although it doesn't have the best tracking, Rift controllers have the best ergonomics. They feel like an extension of your hand which makes doing tasks (turning dials, punching, climbing, grabbing) very immersive.
Controllers are important. But unfortunately in VR land the visuals take the cake.
I want to take the OG Odyssey screens (SDE and all) and pop them into my Rift.
me too^^
Me aswell :( Rift is so comfortable.
really wish you had the names of the headsets instead of icons
would have helped if you placed some titles instead of a small thumbnail pic of the headset in your switches and cross frames. this was ALMOST a very good video. the small images of the headset were too hard to see
Really good video. Thanks for making.
thanks for the feed :")
All you Odyssey+ pictures look a lot softer than what i actually see in my Odyssey+, they seem out of focus.
Tyriel, I just picked up an Odyssey +, and I just can’t get over the incredible God rays that this thing produces in dark environments. I honestly thought I was using them with some sort of lens protector on. I’ve seen others complain about this as well, and I wonder if you’ve ever talked about this with these lens or with other headsets (I’ve heard it exists on the Index). Maybe I’m overly sensitive to it, but I’m really disappointed in this effect.
Hey WG! There are gonna be some godrays like I mentioned, but nothing close to the first gen rift, be sure to be close to the lenses and to don't have light bleeding on the sides, the VR cover I suggested is pretty much a must with this headset, after that the situation should get much much better, let me know!

I just ordered one. If you respond to this I might remember to offer you my feedback. This too is a concern of mine.
Random Roleplays please
the odyssey makes the sde dissapear, but trades it off by making it feel like you have crappy vision
I was told this headset needs about 200SS to really shine, any one tried it?
vive pro supersample factory default is 140 and samsung odyssey plus default is 100
I use it usually at ss250, clarity is much much better, but a tank for the GPU :)
The Rift S looks really impressive against the Odyssey plus.
The only bad thing I can come up with about the Odyssey+ is the speakers, they arn't very good. I use another set for that reason.
did you remove them or just put them on the side?
This would be a lot more useful if each headset used optimised settings (hardware and game settings). For example, the Rift with ~1.3 SS uses about the same resources as the O+ @1.0 SS and the result is not too much different. Also, I find that in dark space games/simulators I get a better result with my Rift with Spud turned off. Still, nice out of box comparison though, thanks.
How to turn spud off?
they are all ss at the same, to the O+ stock resolution

Should compare with Cheapest vs Expensive WMD :) Lenovo vs Odyssey+ :P As 3rd compare Vive because it's many used than Oculus Rift. Not Pro one, because it's more expensive headset. Oculus Rift cannot used because more negative advice.
I'm upgrading my Lenovo Explorer to an Odyssey+ (waiting for it to ship), but the SDE is a non-issue on the Lenovo. The small sweet spot is the biggest issue with the Lenovo, maybe followed by the resolution or display type.
@@moogleslam If you have money, no problem. It's good upgrade. But if you are bit poor and want little VR, Lenovo is not bad choice.
There is one advance with LCD in compare with AMOLED: degradation. If you play game with a lot same lights on some places (like HUD) then it might burn in a bit and getting weaker over a time. But of course, the light strength is much lower because closed dark room inside headset. (nothing compared to AMOLED smartphones in bright (sun)light, which burn much faster in due higher screen brightness...)
LCD has technically no degradation for long time, so it stays good for years.
This is also why AMOLED devices will lose value a bit quicker compared to LED devices.
But over some years, we might already switched to new generation VR headset.
@@mrdummy_nl I think it is a good upgrade indeed, and I got it for the Black Friday discount price ($200 off) so not a huge expense. Not too worried about burn in with anything I play. This will probably last me until maybe 2nd or even 3rd gen VR. 210 degree FOV, true 4k per eye (unlike Pimax 8k), wireless, plus a graphics card to power it (and probably a lot of things I don't even know I want in a future gen VR headset!)
congrats on the Odyssey! Let us know what you think about it then! from the lenovo it will be night and day!!
I need 2 go spec savers. Sorry. What does the title say. 🤣🤣. seriously though. There is no such thing as perfection and everyone will like things for different reasons. Some may prefer the tracking and wouldn't care about slight image difference. Others prefer image. Others the weight, the controllers, price, etc. Others may just want the whole perfect package.......but just got to wait.......erm, years.....i don't know. Tbh, if you look at still photos, it's easy to judge, but when things are wizzing around or your too wrapped up in the game, you just forget time. If your happy, your happy. 😉👍
Id rather see a comparison with Vive Pro.
check the other video
Why does the vive look so bad and pixelated in some shots? I thought vive had a better picture than the rift?
well at 3:05 for example, you can see that the vive you can see the pixels just a tad bit more, the picture is way more clear. and it looks different in real life.
The rift and vive have virtually the same screen.
Some of your footage was blurry. Thanks for the video! :)
thanks for the feed!
Make sure super sampling is on all of the headsets to a moderate degree for best optimization and picture quality
I always assumed that the images shown here were blurry and pixilated because it is just a camera pointed at a tiny screen. Curiosity got the better out of me and I bought a good condition odyssey plus and I must say I am awfully disappointed in experiences like Assetto Corsa, project cars 2 and elite dangerous in VR! You have to use super sampling in steam VR (200% in my case) and even then you can only see road signs only a hundred meters away max!
For me I'd take my 4k 55 inch TV for racing Sims any day of the week! Not sure what to do with the headset now. I guess now that I've got it, might as well try half Life alyx and see if a pure VR game is any better. Kinda afraid of being disappointed there too.
So yeah just be careful guys, no reviewer ever mentions that putting on VR glasses is the equivalent of 800x640 as the main resolution for flat screens!
Funny how the odyssey promo video looks better on rift
Odyssey plus is crystal clear In performance mode and is blurry in quality mode there is a bug in wmr drivers.....
I had all three and samsung is #1 with oculus #2
man I don't see your videos from pretty long! t's nice to see you here! I hope everything is ok!
So confusing with small images of each headset, that land UNDER the youtube time bar. Not to mention your audience likely own zero or one unit, so a tiny picture is UNCLEAR as to which is whice. Please add large text to the top, listing the names of each. Even as a youtube caption overlay would help!
Who is the Boss in VR? Samsung Odyssey, HTC Vive or Oculus!??? Please feedback!
Depends on what you're looking for , as always . The Oculus for me offers the best overall package , it's relatively cheap and has very good tracking ; Vive I guess it's identical but for €200/€350 more you get basically the same , so not a great deal to me . Odyssey+ seems more focused as an add-on device for Simracing or Flight simulators for example than a gaming platform .
A big mistake is just to show these little images of the VR device
during the lens filming. You have to imagine that many people are
watching UA-cam with a mobile phone. It is totally impossible to find out which
VR device is shown.
I have no ideas what the headsets look like. Please use the names next time.
On to another review...
i have Vive gearVRlens, GO and odyssey+ i prefer odyssey+ because of SDE. BUT ... the blurry view is boring too. it's far from perfect... it's more easy to read on my vive than odyssey+ because of blurry anti-sde on O+. The go is not so bad, not blurry and very little sde. but... odessey+ is winner after all because of very very little sde. (still present but very little)... but with blurry view. better but not VERY good. the better choise for the moment, but.. waiting for pimax.
Are you running the ODY+ with 140% SS in SteamVR? If not, try that and report back. I'm still waiting for my ODY+ but have seen that this it he biggest issue people run into, thankfully easy to fix.
@@St1ngerGuy I received mine yesterday and am very disappointed. Even SS at 200% does not fix blurriness, makes it more of an issue if anything. The only benefit of this headset is no SDE, but the positives end there. It just feels awkward to wear aswell (but not uncomfortable) let me know what you think.
Running + on 200% looks like the rift on 100% with AA cranked up.
It's a shame the odyssey is blurry. Because it has practically zero colour bleed.
OMG ive got both vive the normal and the PRO and boy there must be something very wrong with yours because even my vive is 10x better then this.......hmmmm @7.36 you can see the actual quality of the vive.... consider that the pro is even much better than that. ( just look at all the steering wheels .....) honestly i tried this filming before and havent found a camera that focuses correctly and gives the true picture... you need to have the HMD on your own head to judge and even then if you are not wearing the HMD correctly you would still have the wrong idea...
but good video . At least you tried . And i know how much work goes in to this. ;-)
You've got a vive as your pic. Obviously a fanboy. Your opinion is naturally discounted sorry.

My vive has a the best tracking hands down. Although the screen on my odyssey looks stunning the tracking will never compare. look up with your hands at your sides and watch as your controllers get stuck just out of the cameras view then snap back
Yeah, I have both and and find the tracing a bit annoying at times with certain games (Longbow, Space Pirate Trainer). I also find the audio of the Odyssey+ considerably worse that my Vive with DAS.
I'm using an extension cable and I was recently told that's probably the reason by my audio sometimes goes haywire and becomes loud static. Maybe when get a USB 3.0 cable for my Vive ballot box and use that too boost the signal to my Odyssey+the audio will be less bad. But I don't remember it being better when I first tried it without the extension, so I doubt I'll be impressed with the audio.
@@RojasTKD7 you need a powered usb 3.0 hub to make it work properly. It wont work right through the breakout box even with a usb 3.0 cable. I think thats why the cables are so short.
danno macellaro hummm, thanks for the input. someone else told me the Vive breakout box worked for him. I assume it was plugged in and booting the signal. I guess I'll find out as I have both the break out box (USB 3.0 Cable on the way) and a powered USB 3.0 hub.
Alon as I get it working in the end, I'll be happy.
@@RojasTKD7 it works for the hdmi output, but i do have to replug it sometimes. The usb only gives an error code. A short extension kinda worked but was not reliable.
@@dmacell4110 ok, thanks. Good to know. I look forward to being able to play without it eventually turning into annoying static noise.
Dude I have no idea which headset is which.... What am I watching?
All three are the same. Most times its a placebo. I have a rift and have used odessey and vive. All are similar to me.
Which one would you recommend to a person that has budget? I am currently still thinking about buying Oculus
A little dissapoint with the minimal differences in clarity
Makes me think that a rift 1.5 visual upgrade alone is not worth the effort. They need that tracking redesign too forsure
NAMES not pics
Anyone is then my VR box
dude... did you really film this with autofocus? you gotta be kidding. This is how its done: ua-cam.com/video/USoRfwPxybI/v-deo.html
samsung is clearly the winner
Only because of the Anti-SDE coating...
BANANA'S are curved
What the fuck am I looking at? which is which?
look at the bottom
good god the vive looks aweful...
The Oculus still holds it's own. Vive is awful. Odyssey is good but not the hype good. The Odyssey color accuracy and crushing of blacks etc really hurt it. The Odyssey looks like it has a screen protector on it. Not worth the premium over Oculus unless you got it on sale IMO.
When you wear it you wont see any sde and doesnt look like protector on it either. I think odyssey color look better than vive in my eyes and vive is just too bright which makes my eyes dry out. Im thinking about selling pimax 5k because no sde is just amazing. Watching movies is awsome and doesnt feel like computer world movie theater
Oculus holds up very well yes, but I have to say that I really enjoy using all of them.. they are all good :)
Eh, watching this muted ignoring commentary, the rift looks best on average.
worst comparison video yet. why the pictures, type the headset names clearly, also this video is biased toward oculus, i own all three, and find odyssey miles ahead of both others. crank up the supersampling on all headsets and re-test 'clearly'!
well the Samsung you can see its more blurry and less sharp so I wont be buying it way too blurry
supersample to 140 can make sharp as Vive Pro. he didn't supersample in this video because he believe everybody owns gtx 970 or lower. i use motion reprojection with my gtx 1060 and most games i try works really good without frame issue with supersample 140. In your naked eye, you will not see sde no matter how sensitive you are. Watch MRTV review for resolution sharpness comparison with vive Pro and Odyssey Plus.
@@ji3200 thanks for the reply I shall check his videos :)
every headset gets crisper if supersampled, the images are from the Stock O+, because that's how you buy it and many people don't even know what super sampling is :)
i can never understand what you're saying
I'll keep my oculus
50% of the time the wmr headsets will fail don’t take the chance
Confusing video, quite unclear.
Whats up with this guys facial expressions, looks like hes trying to hold in the fieryest of fiery vindaloo shits..
Never buy a diagonal grid layout display for VR again! RGB or go home....;0)
Oh common VR industry. You harm yourself with that propriertary and incompatible hard-/software bullshit. Just give us at least a VR headset with Oddysey+ displays, Rift controller and Vive tracking for round about 500 and people will throw money in your direction. This should be the best combination, also considering that higher resolution and FOV are too demanding for most mainstream gaming rigs which can handle VR on Rift/Vive level at present time. Then we all can wait for 3-4 years and you have time to develop Gen2 VR headsets properly. And they really should focus on Eye Tracking and Foveated Rendering. Combined with High Density displays we could finally get the best of two worlds. Clear/sharp pic and reasonable performance even on mid-level gaming PCs.
I hear a lot of butt hurt going on. Just admit youll have to hang up your htc and Rift after seeing Odyssey plus....
maybe, if people outside american and china could even buy it.
Maybe if it supported the same level of compatibility for vr titles as vive and rift and if it had better tracking.
@@professordanmusic same level of compatibility? do some titles not work great or something?
@@jmothak8573 you're a dumb ass
lol, not with that abysmal I-O tracking. Not happening in a competitive scenario. My Odyseey+ is only good for racing sims and movie watching. The vive/rift is what you want for the competitive scene.
@Tyriel Wood Speak slower please. Thanks for the content, thumbs up!
feedback taken!
100% Vive. Yes the screen door effect is more noticeable in this video but that's mainly due to it being zoomed in. The Odyssey’s controllers are awful as they keep losing tracking. The rift also does not have as good tracking as the vive even if you buy the 3rd sensor. Plus the Rifts picture quality is more blurry and the vive has a bigger fov. Vive is 100% my choice
I have to disagree with the oculus tracking though, with the third sensor is equal to the vive now a day
Tyriel Wood yes at times it can but there is points where it will lose tracking for example when picking up items directly below you.
SamSlamDunk just means your sensors aren’t placed well. I don’t get any issues when picking up in front of me.
@@xoShadez try to set 2 sensor up, diagonal and 1 down :)
Tyriel Wood I sold my oculus and got a vive. I tried everything and even though it got better with each sensor in a different position it still couldn't match the vive
