    You are doing such a great job that I can't believe someone would comment about snow removal. It is you place and you should do what you want. If they don't like it just shut up, their are so many negative people in the world it is terrible. Keep up the good work.

      Agree. I had an animal (not a bull 😊) losing hair. Vet said my NEW normal looking one was an asymptomatic carrier that had brought the fungus/bacteria in. Had to treat them both to clear it up.
      You might want to quarantine from your other cattle since you are not currently treating them.

    Thanks Evan and Rebecca for sharing with us, sure hope the rented bull gets okay and doesn't pass anything around to your animals. Will love seeing the steel racks set up and the metal off the floor and out of your road. Keep up the fine snow plowing around your place, you have the right frame of mind on plowing, don't let it lay there and build up. Stay safe and keep up the fun you all have around there and with the animals. Fred and family.

    Seems like you are getting a little irritated with some dumb suggestions. I am a 73 year old man and have experienced a lot of things in my life and I am going to give the best advice you ever heard - DO IT YOUR WAY!!.
    I have watched your channel for a long time and you have never claimed to be an expert at anything and most of the things you have done were the first time for you. You have made a few mistakes here and there but you quickly recovered. You have demonstrated your resourcefulness over and over again and I have always been thoroughly impressed with the way that you and Rebecca do things. She is one tough little girl. I don't know how anybody could watch your channel for any length of time and still think that you need their lame advice. I watch your channel to see what you do not to see you do what I would do.
    God bless you and Rebecca and have a great New Year.

    I am always a little jealous of all of your talents. Through do-it-yourself projects are a great for those that already have certain talents available but are not doable by those that don't have this knowledge or talent, and you can always learn but at some point it's too late.

    • @cathiwim
      @cathiwim 5 годин тому +2

      It’s never too late. I am 69 and plan on learning to weld. I was in my late 50’s when i learned to tile floors. 40s i was learning rough carpentry, teens and twenties, cabinetmaking. I still do all of the above.

    • @greghamann2099
      @greghamann2099 5 годин тому +1

      @@cathiwim Okay I admire you too. I'm about your age but my hard life is taking this toll upon my body and medical conditions kind of force me to be less active And I never imagined I'd beat this limited at my age but here I am. My father was an excellent woodworker and Carpenter, and I learned a lot from him. Though he was a dairy farmer. I took college level metallurgy and learned how to weld better. That got me a job at Trek bicycle, and I ended up building carbon fiber bikes for Lance Armstrong.

People are such putz's and arm chair quarterback experts. Yes there are times when you do things a bit different than I would. But I'll be damned if I'm going to get on here and criticize you for it. My blade has old cultivator gauge wheels welded to the back of the moldboard. I can adjust the depth with a pin on each wheel. But now I have switched to a snowblower, and I can relocate the gravel from my driveway to my lawn at a much higher velocity !

  • @deborahsimmons2414
    @deborahsimmons2414 7 годин тому +1

    You really dialed that blade in to work like a real snow plow. Great job, you certainly learned what you need to for a great outcome! Big pat on the back from me. I know that’s not much but I appreciate your efforts!
    Love Rebecca and the calico segment, would make some great stills right there…too cute.
    As always your farm looks so iconic all dressed up in snow. I would love to see shots of the pond, your tractor trails and perhaps a long view of your entry way to your house as an artistic endeavor and I am sure they would make beautiful wall art inside your home and perhaps even digital prints for us to purchase for our homes. Just a thought, you have the camera equipment to do it justice.
    Any way, thank you for a wonderful episode, glad you are all okay. I am sure Tyrone will be better in no time.
    Does your pond freeze up enough to ice skate on it? Wow! That would be super cool!
    WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!!!! Framing in the work barn before Rebecca’s custom shelving project????? Ooooohh! Are you sure you want that? Just a thought, I am pretty sure Rebecca is a flexible kind of gal, however…you fill in the blanks😉

    I agree with you Evan, move that snow while it's still plowable. With lower temps coming, it will ice up and be too tough to move and make for a rough driveway to drive on with the frozen ruts.

  • @jjohnson1730

    I clean my driveway even after a dusting, packed snow turns to ice. I hate driving on ice

  • @SangRunner
    @SangRunner 7 годин тому +1

    I have a rear blade similar to yours but mount the blade about 2 feet off center which extends 2 feet beyond the rear tractor tire. Considering the weight of your tractor it might allow you to push back the side wall of the snow build up without driving on the snow. Works good for me widening my driveway. The 3 point stabilizers may make it possible to push the blade to one side.
    My blade is an old Ford blade that you can offset the blade in either direction. Just a thought.

    I have the same type of log splitter you have and one thing I changed out right away was a trailer crank with a wheel (preferably a dual wheel) on that splitter to save your back . I’ll be watching what you do to your table on the splitter . for my plan is to move that small table to the operater side and weld up a longer table to reach out over part of the engine and weld a raised lip around the perimeter of the table for the firewood not to vibrate off . I try to use the bucket of my tractor with rounds in it to help roll onto splitter table . Great video and I’m going to try my blade on the tractor tomorrow like your doing. I always use a blower but with gravel it’s hard listening to that gravel spitting out of the shoot . I hope your rental bull gets better .

    We have a long farm lane as well. If I don't keep it clean it is just more snow to melt. just enough to freeze that night before it melts down to the gravel and make a real mess. Now instead of packed snow with a little bit of traction, we get a sheet of ice. Some viewers that don't have a long lane or are used to a lot more snow probably see things differently, but I am with you... trying to keep it clean is often better.

    Here is my thinking on the snow plowing. It snows 3 inchs of snow. You plow your drive way area. Its snows that night another 3 inchs. So now you have 6 inch on the ground but only 3 on the drive way. I would think 3 inchs is a lot easier to plow than 6 inchs.

    When my pigs had mites, I put burnt motor oil on them,might work on the cow too. Just a suggestion.

    Have a look at mountain maple ranch. He’s made the splitter into one that splits 4 times at once instead of 2. You could do this at the same time

    One of the reasons you do it is because you enjoy it. I’d do the same.

    I am usually all about keeping my driveway clear down to the asphalt until it gets to -15C or so, then I don't mind a little snow on the driveway as much.
