Alan Watts is the man. He has helped me in so many ways. Same goes for Architects, both have helped me evolve spiritually. We are all Tom and Tom is us.
This song is making me extremely emotional about Tom... I understand now why this album talks so much about death, must have been his thoughts about what was happening to him
Leave it to Tom to end his entire legacy with beauty and wisdom in the words of Alan Watts~ I am incredibly humbled. He went out in fucken style, unlike anything I've ever seen before. Thanks for this video. And more importantly, thank you to Tom and Architects for saying goodbye with such beauty and wisdom. Always remembered. You live on forever, mate. Back into the black. The infiniteness.
If I may He can't live forever None of us can Finding peace in this truth feels like the opposite of living forever. Maybe they're equal and opposites and entwined but may he not live forever. May we all face the same fate with as much bravery - and move on to the next in peace - because life and it's glory isn't meant to be forever. That's what makes it a gift no matter why we are here.
I had listened to this song hundreds of times before finding this video. This video made it feel like the first time I heard it, like it was brand new to me. Well done!
In hindsight I wish i spent a few days on it , this was made before Tom's death and having listened to this so many times it gave it a lot more meaning once he passed and this video almost conveys the whole bittersweet reality where we're worthless on a universal scale yet to ourselves the only meaningful things in existence, so I wish I took more time to clean it up, get better fonts and get rid of the comic sans "sub to bag of milk" at the end that I put as an in-joke.
It's something none of us really expected even though the lyrics gave enough hints... I went to a concert shortly after Tom died, Sam held a short speech about it and I will never forget that feeling to be honest. How the busy pit suddenly stopped moving and everyone was standing there with tears in their eyes. I can understand that you regret not putting more time in it, I probably would as well, but considering that it 'only' took you 5 hours it turned out as something amazing, I like how it catches the vibe of the song. After all nature's powerful and we are just some tiny people in the universe trying to make the best of what we have while we still have it.
I had no idea....this is very special. I don't think my words convey but for me personally thank you to this fellow Tom for what he has done for me and others. i can't think of a greater way to be remembered than to have people say, "Tom is us and we are Tom". Think about that for a moment, you MATTERED. we all do, but you stood out. just wow and thank you and i can't like this, cuz it's at a perfect 666 respectfully ;-)
Lets honestly get a grip on mandatory generations destroying the human eye of power! "We are owned by God's of wisdom." Great song, love the music and power it gives off.
As much as I like this song for myself, it is pretty difficult for me to listen to it and to hear those lyrics. For people, whon are "on the edge" and thinking about suicide, it sounds very "romantic" and like death will bring relief to them. So for that reason, I listen to the song with mixed emotions. I don't want a person very close to me to find the courage to kill him/herself through this...
This song is about Tom Searle dying. It's a celebration of life. If someone decided that this is their motivation to end it all, they grossly misread the meaning.
This song is not about suicide at all. This song is about the bassist and the songwriter of this band who was dying like +Ricky Ray said. It is actually the opposite. It is to appreciate life, but Tom knew that his ending was coming near and he was slowly accepting it as he had no other option. It's beautiful yet poignant. This song makes me feel sadness because I could only imagine what Tom felt like when he was dying. That one day, death will come up to all of us. Death is standing around the corner, but what scares us the most is that we never know when it pounces up or who it will take when it does. Death takes a hundred thousand lives everyday. But it makes me think deeply. It makes me value life. I think that is exactly what Tom wanted to convey through this. Architects are not a band to romanticize suicide. There are so many songs that do. But this is not one of those songs. I understand where you're coming from. I keep seeing these memes about suicide and depression which make me feel down. But understand that that is not the intent of this band.
And what is this music video, did you just take a random video from the internet and just increase and decrease the speed to make it seem so deep and inspirational
Marky Mark The clips in this video sort of all reflect what the song’s about. Memento mori was a popular saying back in the day because of its appeal to nature. The added effects look kind of extra tho, you’re right

This video was absolutely amazing. Using the natural power of nature to go along with the emotional power of this song. Very well done

Like everytime I listen to Architects, I feel like the world is going to explode. Their lyrics are very strong.

I'm amazed how you did this in only 5 hours, it's actually one of my favourite videos there ever.

Well...death is pretty f*ckin' romantic.
