Valentina, I would love for you to do a video with specific steps to discover our personal styles... and how to decorate, highlighting our cherished items. Thank you!
This type of video is how I found you in the first place after searching on UA-cam for ways to make your home look more expensive. My home is now looking more polished and more sophisticated all because of you, so thank you.
Valentina thanks so much for this video. This is exactly why I love to watch you. You know I steam iron my sheets. It’s something I do weekly after washing -never thought about steaming. I like to do it to keep mattress fresh too. Love to hear about your projects. By the way you look absolutely fabulous in that outfit.
I truly appreciate your advice on interior design. I love accessories as well. My problem is finding storage when changing/ switching out items and not forgetting about what I have in my closet full of decor. These are not "seasonal items" so I'm struggling with finding a use again and/or where to repurpose.
I'd love to see you focus on smaller businesses and artists that offer unique pieces online. Yes, I buy from Amazon, Home Depot, Target, Pottery Barn, et. al. Many times I go into someone's home and can tell exactly what decorator they follow simply from where they buy their decor. Ease is great. But unique is better.
We mix the two in our home. We collect unique pieces as we travel and explore but we also bring in pieces from other businesses. We also try and make design more democratic, allowing people access to more options. So we try to balance budget, availability and style so that more people can access good design.
Oftentimes, I use Valentina's suggestions as jumping-off points for looking for similar but uniquely sourced items. However, before I found Valentina, Pottery Barn was my favorite place to dream of future spaces. I just happened to find her when I could finally afford to buy from there. 😄
Thank you for the enjoyable visit! You always inspire! I'm in the midst of organizing, and I'm so ready to start restyling every room with a nod toward spring. Mostly due to you, I have all the elements, so I just have to put them in place...once the organization chaos is gone!
I love my blue and beige persian rug as it is an original and very unique and high quality. ☺️ But it can be quite loud so I use it in front of the piano and keep the rest of the area as quiet and minimal as possible so it doesn’t feel „too much“. 😃
SUCH a fantastic video-- it's informative and I love the visual examples that you provide. I subscribe to several interior design channels, and many of your recommendations are ones that I've heard for the first time. This is all so helpful. I've followed previous recommendations that you've made and LOVE the impact they've made. My home has since received compliments from every single person who has visited. Planning to purchase vases similar to what you've shown.
I'm in the process of getting our home built. And thanks to you, I have so many great ideas to make my home look luxurious. You have really inspired me a lot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. Keep them coming!!
great video. I suggest too, when looking to get a good sofa, check out your local thrift stores, used furniture, etc. Chances are you will find an older qualify made sofa, that you can re-upholster, and you can get a better made sofa than what is made today.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ just found you two weeks ago while I’m visiting from California my bf that lives in London and was searching ideas how to elevate his apartment decor. Absolutely love your channel and so does my bf. Thank you ❤
If you have smaller pieces of art you love and don't want to replace them with larger generic decor, use neutral colored mattes to create more visual impact.
Thank you Valentina as always getting so much inspiration from your videos. My home looks amazing, that’s the compliment I get whenever I have a visitor. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. ❤
Very video of yours is perfection!!! Thanks for your amazing content. I am so inspired and every home decision I make I think “what would Valentina do” lol
Love this video, you always give great advice and get my creative juices flowing lol! It would be fun to do a series where people tag you in the spaces they’ve created and you and hubby judge the design.
Just a suggestion regarding sofa replacement. If sofa style is not terribly dated I would suggest slip covers. Very inexpensive compared to a new sofa!
To get those pricier brands like Pottery Barn,West Elm, Restoration Hardware,etc...I like to go to estate/yard sales & thrift stores in nicer neighborhoods. I even check the better neighborhoods on FB marketplace. I have so many high end pieces for a fraction of the cost.
Another place you can find art is at sidewalk art fairs. You many art schools have student art sales where you can get many thing for not much. Also you’ll be helping local artists and you not find the next Picasso.
The mood boards are always very helpful. Thanks! And can you please link your coffee mugs in your videos? They’re always so nice, especially the brown zebra print one. 😊
I found brass (they look golden) cylinder doorstops with brown leather handles at Target. I thought of you and I was like “Valentina would like these. They look like something from one of her videos.”I actually bought two. I never just buy decor on the spot but it was so beautiful and perfect. Here is the exact name of the doorstop of anyone wants to check them out: Accented Metal & Leather Doorstopper Brass Finish - Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia
We'd bought a new living room set recently after 26 years. We always go for natural colors, even 26 years ago. That's how we managed to keep them "instyle." Anyway, I think if buying a new sofa is not in the budget, getting a sofa cover is not a bad idea, just a thought.
With spring comming near I can't wait to get out and. Look for some. Up scale looking home decor. Thanknyou for your direction. Do you have a favorite. Candlefish. Scent? Iam not a fan of patchouli though. Do. Love vanilla. Type soft scent. Thank u
I agree with you about glitter, especially with silk flowers. But what's your opinion on metallic accents? Sometimes they can be used to bring a bit of pop to an artwork.
Pet owners, please research your scented products if you have cats or dogs. Some fumes cause respiratory problems, some are poisonous, even more so if your pet has asthma. This includes candles, potpourri, sprays, plug-ins etc. I LOVE scented candles but my cat goes into sneeze attacks when I use, so I just put some oranges etc in water on stove on low and let the scent fill that side of the house.
Can you do a video on lighting? We’ve lived in our house for more than a year now, but we still have those ugly construction light bulbs hanging from the ceiling in the living room and in our bedroom because we’re really struggling with finding lamps that fit the space, have a certain design look to them and aren’t horrendously expensive… Help!
Very good video. I watch you all the time. Do you have any recommendations for a ceiling fan in a master bedroom. I live in Texas and our master bedroom gets hot so we need a ceiling fan but I have a hard tube finding one that is sophisticated. Thank you.
Hi Valentina! I absolutely love your channel! Pure inspiration and class! I have a question that I know you’ll have the answer to. I recently bought RH bedroom set (St. James) as I see in your videos you have one of their pieces. I’m conflicted, however since I bought two nightstands- one open and one closed like they have in their showrooms. I don’t know if I should have went with two open for symmetry. If you can let me know your thoughts I’d SO GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!! 😊
Thank you for sharing the wonderful home and lifestyle idea. I'd like to suggest that purchasing original art from art students would also be a choice and would help the emerging artists.
Hi Valentina! Thanks for this. I hope you can reply if you have time- I am looking for a new rug for our bedroom and family rooms, and I thought a wool persian rug would be amazing (we have a mostly Parisian style in our home). But it makes sense that a monochromatic rug would be less busy and more sophisticated. How do you know whether an oriental rug or monochromatic rug is best?
Valentina, I love your videos . My wish would be to share a picture of my living room space so you can tell me what kind of sofa to buy( color, lenght..). I’m ready to buy but dont know what yo buy 🤷♀️
For the guest room, I always iron my pillowcases with perfect creases left in. To me, that immediately signals clean, fresh sheets to the guests. Not necessarily recommending, just sharing a weird thing I do.

@@mikam8801 I believe they did the sprinkling and rolling of clothes was because there weren't many steam irons years ago. The wrinkles were easier to get out that way. My mother always did that also.
@@carolbaratta3663 Thanks. That makes sense. I swear I have a memory about the smell though, although memory is known to be flawed or conflated. Maybe it was “crisp” instead.
I’m just starting the video, I can already tell you I LOVE IT… lol. I have a question about white couches. Do you prefer performance fabric over washable ones? I’m pulling the trigger this year. I also have chronic back pain, is West Elm more comfortable than PotteryBarn? Or is it just deciding on a style I want? I want a great couch that will last? Thanks so much for all you do Valentina!
It mainly comes down to style differences. We have sofas from both and love them both. Some of the ones from Pottery Barn do feel a bit more soft and plush so it depends on whether you need it to be softer or a bit firmer.
Valentina, I have quite a few different shape vases that I purchased when we renovated, do you think I could get a paint and spray paint them to the colour I’m wanting, some are very pretty shapes and I don’t see the value in replacing them with new ones. Thank you for sharing great tips on Your channel. Of course I’m wanting to spray paint them into a lovely black…🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🥰🥰🇦🇺

Hi Valentina. I love your channel and your modern classic design style. Getting my bathroom done now and the tile I picked is not having the impact that I wanted. It's a faux marble Carrara statuario. Basically white with minimal charcoal veining. This is the shower wall and floor tile for the ensuite.
