I would of never dared to try and pair her that soon after a rehousing. I don’t even try to feed mine for a week after rehousing. I believe they need more time to get comfortable with their surroundings. That’s one of the reasons we always add the male to the female’s enclosure and not the other way around. However it looked like a successful pairing and I am really hoping that you get a viable sack out of it!

This is why I stopped breeding after only a few pairings.....to stressful for me :P I personally would never pair that soon after a cage transfer....IMO the female needs time to feel comfortable about her territory and lay drag lines for the male to respond to, just something to consider in the future.

I had 15 successfull pairings before I lost my first male, and I fight for the male. Sometimes you can't stop it from happening. I've had males and females run up my arms and back. I'm actually surprised I haven't been bit 😅. Quick tip for breeding. Keep at low light, and if there's no movement gently blow the webbing and it will sometimes stimulate them. Also try to avoid making lots of movement and noise as the vibrations can Interfere with there coartship.

It probably would've ended the same way but tbh I would've just done the pairing in her old enclosure as she can sense everything better in there and wouldn't have been as stressed, or possibly just wait a few days for her to adjust to her new enclosure, not nagging just my opinion tbh :)

But being that he was old and you thought he may pass away soon, I’m glad he was able to preform another important duty by providing her with the nutrients she needs to hopefully have healthy eggs. 1. Give it a month before breeding after a rehouse. He didn't sense her webbing. 2. She might have sensed that he was on older male? Was this his first breeding experience? 3. As soon as you saw he was in a bind, some well place tongs would have helped even if the breeding was unsuccessful. 4. All is well. Sometimes this happens. Since you are new at breeding it can happen. I am new, (almost two years and no breeding..... yet) but I have done a ton of research on tarantula breeding and a well placed set of tongs might have saved him (maybe). Let's hope this sac is a good one! Knocking on all the wood for you!!! Knocking until my knuckles bleed! T vagans are sooooo cool and you have a tattoo of one! Place a male of the same species at the opposite end of the female in her habitat. Then, leave them UNDISTURBED to allow the male to settle down and start its courtship process. Never introduce a female into a male's habitat or she will most likely kill and eat the male. This time, this is not even females habitat, is **your** conditioned habitat in which you 'pressured her' to be in. You yourself could see how pissed off she was when you took her out of 'her' place. On top of that, the disturbance of the light, your noise (speaking) made the 'natural course of pairing' go wrong. This is not humans agreeing to show their 'natural pairing impulses' at OnlyFans, this are wild animals being re-programmed by you to be conditioned to please your 'content' and scientific 'observations'. Don't be surprised!

Feed the female before pairing them, sometimes can help

Well yeah you pretty much killed him before he ever even got put in the tank with the Female. You stressed her out completely when you took her out the way you did! She was stressed from the very start of the video. The Male was doomed too die at 3:57 in too the video. You should have waited till the next day to attempt a mating. That was 100% your fault he died. No offense, but it is true.

Maybe if u waited a bit longerfor her to settle in the NEW HOME SO SHE WASNT DEFENSIVE ABOUT IT...and feeding time is at night.. SMH. Good try tho!! BEING A BIT MORE PREPARED TO SEPARATE THEM- MIGHT HAVE WORKED CUS THE FEMALE DONT DO ENOUGH DAMAGE BUT JUST GRABS HIM FOR A SPLIT SECONG IF U HAVE SOME CARDBOARD AND WOOD TONGS IT HELPS A LOT. And she may still b gravid from the first time ..

Love the video, I spent 35 years of my life extremely arachnophobic. Watching channels like this helped me a great deal. I even kept 2 jumpers for a year, though I never handled them. I miss them!

Probably not a good idea to try breeding literally hours after a rehouse... No pheromone build up, no webbing, etc. Bad idea all around.
