- In this video, I'm sharing a bit about what I did to break away from my need of traveling to distant places to find interesting things to photograph, while also answering a question I had been asking myself for a while: "How can I be happy with what is right in front of me?"
I talk about my beginnings in the world of Street Photography while living in Hanoi, Vietnam, and the work I did for my first photo book.

Another good posting! Thanks!
Thanks!
What I've taken from this video is directly related to your other video I've just watched ,where you try to explain the Language of Photography-life ,like photography, is subjective. Live long & peace.
Just love what you are sharing Sergio......really appreciate your insights and the time you put into giving us a view into your journey.
Thanks, Marc! This is super encouraging 🙏
Thank you Sergio. The comment you made that in finding meaning allowed you to also find happiness was was a huge eye opener for me. I have struggled to find meaning in my life and in the back of my mind I knew it was somehow related to happiness. Your comments made it clear to me. I am a part time videographer that has recently gotten into photography her in New Mexico. Thank you again. I really enjoy your videos and this one had great value for me.
Good luck with your journey, Norm!
Thank you for sharing this. I have recently started using photography as a means to find meaning in life. I can say best decision had me going out more and appreciating things thank you for sharing!
Super concise accessible language and sharing. Even though i am not a photographer i can relate with your sharings. I hope you can continue to share more with us 😊
Thanks :) I'm happy it resonates!
Although it is project forced by situation, I'm pretty much restricting to hiking with my camera in one nearby park, though it is a big park. What I have found is that I can take my camera to the same location over and over and never take the same photo. A location is ever-changing and radically different photos can be captured from that one spot. In addition, familiarity with a place creates a different relationship with that place than when you first encountered it. You see more, you know its moods. For me, that has translated into photos that have become richer, deeper, and more intimate in their meaning. This all makes the whole experience of photography in this area a meaningful and joy-producing activity for me.
That's beautiful, Robin! Thanks for sharing :)
I like how you speak about developing a relationship with the place you take photos in - definitely takes things into another level.
Yes - in 2021, I too undertook a 365 challenge. I heard about this project on a podcast and was intrigued by it. It forced me to do different kinds of photography that I may not otherwise have tried. I got a lot of good images from that project.
Congratulations on finishing such a project! It's not as easy as one might think in the beginning.
Superb video that opens our thinking to more inspirational stories
Thank you 🙏
