Bigtymer's steak video is how I discovered optic and it eventually lead to me to stumbling across Flamesword, Scump, Pamaj, etc. I'm not a gamer so it may seem odd to follow professional gamers on youtube and I'm still trying to figure out why I remain entertained. Nonetheless, keep up the good work.
Most steakhouses actually seal in the juices by tossing it in the pan for a couple of minutes, then finishing it off in the broiler with a pad of butter. I normally grill my steaks, but when I'm craving that top shelf steak I do it that way.
Cook/fry the steak in a pan on a few minutes each side, including the thin side of the steak, depending on how you like it(medium rare etc) then put it in the oven for around 8-10 minutes.
a.) do it in a cast iron pan. b.) Preheat the cast iron in the broiler c.) throw the steak in the broiler 2 min on each side I personally use only salt and pepper with a light coating of olive oil on the steak. Make sure its not centered in the pan on the first side. When you flip it, make sure its on the open, hot side for even browning. If you like asparagus, on the flip is a good time to throw in a few stalks.
If you cook it in an oven, you should still try to get some sear in a pan first and then finish in the oven Flame, that where a lot of the flavor comes from.
Next time I highly suggest that you slice the steak into slim slices! Trust me it'll be a lot softer and it will taste a lot better than just cooking it whole
Flamesword, I have a prank idea. Do another cook off and have the someone judge which is better, but make the thing that they taste really spicy. I recommend pepper extract.
Best way to make Steak - Rib eye carries all that fat which is called marbeling. Its what gives the steak flavour or extra flavour and is something you want in your steak. Cooking should be done in a pan or skillet, small bit of oil - preferably extra virgin olive oil not cocunt.. oils burn at different temps. You want your pan really high to start with to give it the seared charred look. Season your steak, black pepper burns so seasoning with pepper and putting on a high pan will probably cause it to burn and your fucked. So season with salt, maybe something like smoked paprika, rosemary is a great one, onion powder, garlic powder is great too. When you cook your steak, cook for 2 minutes each side at a high heat which will char the outside and then turn the heat to medium and cook for another 2 minutes each side and that will be the perfect medium rare. If u want a sauce, pour red wine into the steak pan and mix together with all those steak juices, add some flour or milk to thicken and cook until reduced so all the alcohol is gone. You can add maybe some brown sugar for sweetness, or honey, some onion and tomato and boom, you've got a whopper steak and whopper steak sauce..
Ribeye: grill that thang. Rub olive oil on the cut, then rub a mix of spices to taste (salt, pepper, cayenne, white pepper, etc) on it. 600 degrees, few minutes each side. Boom
Yoooo you should've pan seared your steak right quick and thennnn put it in the oven. Probably would've been the extra kick you'd need to take the lead on votes! Both looked good either way. Props on your first steak cooking man.
shrekt ogre www.thedailymeal.com/eat/secrets-great-steakhouses No...They don't... Only if you want your steak burnt, or as the article says it, "past medium". Thanks, but I'd like my steak to taste good.
+Fatty McCracken actually they do lmao. I work at a steak house And we have huge ovens where the steaks go. I'm not saying they're better that way personally I like mine on a grill. But the steak isn't meant to be in a specific place you can do either or
shrekt ogre I appreciate you trying to educate me, but I can do that on my own. Oh, and once more. read the article. Do you understand how many different ways steak houses cook their meat? Point is, if you don't have access to a grill then go ahead and heat up your oven, otherwise I think I can speak for the majority by saying we prefer steak grilled. Have a great day, and happy holidays!
That smaller steak is the better steak its got that perfect mixture between fat and meat got the nice marble to it,Love the video u should go against maniac next week ik he likes to cook too
Pan cook the steak on each side for two min on medium high heat. Once you're done with the pan, throw it in the oven and bam got yourself a nice juicy steak.

Love your vids man. keep it up flame!
best way is to pan fry both sides for the nice crust then finish in oven at medium-high temp to help render all the fat better
You should put salt pepper and Garlic powder as a seasoning, simple but the best thing in my opinion on a steak
Nice vid. Steak game on point
u dont cook steak on a pan on the stove or in a tray in the oven you cook it on the grill
a.) do it in a cast iron pan. b.) Preheat the cast iron in the broiler c.) throw the steak in the broiler 2 min on each side

You should make this a series
Yup! @OpTic Flamesword

We Spanish people use "Sazon" on everything. Steak, chicken, fish, etc...
You im thinking a fan meet up but with a grill and Big_T as the chef, and fans bring the Steaks i would go!
What food are u gonna do next? Or an idea of what's next.
I got it mike. You bake your steak like you did here and then you pan/grill sear it to get the crispiness best of both worlds.
hey flame what meat would you say best for losing weight, i love chicken but running out of ways to mix it up any suggestions?

Dude, you could throw it in the pan for a moment after taking it from the oven!
Damn this got me hungry :D
I could tell just by looking at the steaks the smaller one is going to be better...Marbling is key boys
5 minutes each side is good
Rename this video to "Big T's Cook-off."
After your steak was about done in the oven you should have thrown it on broil to get a get a crispy crust on your steak then let it rest.
That kind of latin-american spanish accent on BigT is pretty good, nice video tho!

can't use hitch when he cant smell fam
Pretty sure as long as you use healthy fats when you fry ala Olive Oil or Cocount Oil it's fine to fry food. It's no where close to a deep fry.
what about that sunflower oil shit?
+oh Vrxyl Nope, too much saturated fats in it.
Alright Cheers man
Now you just need to put Adobo on it also.
Big t steak looks good AF
Ew, your don't cook a steak in the oven. That shit is meant to be cooked out on a grill.
