It’s seems like hot toys focus way too much on aesthetics instead of aesthetics and durability. The durability for them feels like an afterthought. These figures should not require any maintenance because there should not be absolutely anything on them that has a chance of degradation. Anybody who agrees please reply

Excellent figure. I remember when owning this, it had an oil slick appearance wherein the light would bring out multi colors. Great video, man!

Its retroactively explained in novels and games that came after Aliens that the Xenomorph with the Dome from Alien is a drone, whereas the ones without in Aliens were warriors. The drones scout the area and build hives while the warriors do the fighting. I think its cool that they took a change that was done simply to facilitate the moviemaking process and gave a reason for it in the lore. Though I do agree that the clear dome is more iconic.
Nice I was just talking about the practical reason why they ditched the domes on set, not the lore reason, but good to know!

Hot toys should sell blast effects, for starwars weapons, more damage effects like the alien blood/ regular blood, elemental effects like fire, weapon packs….. i just feel like they would make money and also serve the community. But i get that these are premium figures and supposed to display them and be happy. But they should sell 1:6 scale props to bring your displays to life

@@JustinsCollection You've got a queen hidden somewhere in there, don't you, ya rascal? Anyhoo, there's tons of designs that are awesome. The runner is a beaut, the resurrection ones are also very cool, and I've got a soft spot for the Isolation one, being something of a cross between Big Chap and the Resurrection ones with digitigrade legs.
I get that the rubber jaw pieces may be fragile long term, but the way the mandible functions looks absolutely amazing!

I think if they ever do another xeno they should just do swap out mouth parts to keep the seamless look but without having to worry about the rubber

I've always preferred domed Xenos, but I've actually got a ridged one myself (Neca) because it's the only one I could get at the time. I like warriors and from certain angles the crest looks RAD, but the dome gives them that extra "I don't know what". None of that detracts from this MAGNIFICENT figure, good god. It's a shame the rubber makes them so delicate to handle, but their design makes them look incredible just standing there.

I like both iterations of the Xenomorph. My head canon is that the "warriors" are the offensive portion of the hive. And the "drones" are the more defensive part of the hive. I would be sad if they permanently abandoned either version, so I would like some explanation as to why both exist!
As for the figures, I'd be in for 2 or 3 of these if they release and updated version. I'd also be in for a new Big Chap/drone and a "runner" (Alien³)
That's canon! Drones are more focused on building the hive and stalking people while warriors are the combat class.
@muisverriet I know it's video game canon. But I'd like to see it make it's way into films. I'd really like to see different forms of aliens too. From different host species!

I bought the Colonial Marines figures. Of course the head sculpts look nothing like them, but I was able to custom make a few of them like Hudson (who is my favorite Marine), looks just like a Pro Hot Toys figure when I bought a new body and awesome head sculpt I was able to find on eBay, and Hicks. I'm working on Apone now.
Hot Toys did a awesome job with their body armor and guns. All you need are some better bodies, and better head sculpts.
I love my Colonial Marines figures.
Just sayin they look awesome together with the Aliens and Ripley in my display cabinet.

Joints and hard plastic would have worked. Zero reason these have to have any soft parts. Consider that the xenos themselves are exoskeletons

There are very little amount of characters where you can hide visible joints... Alien is one of does, it's really simple to hide the cuts in the design to get maximum range but still look good

This Alien Warrior needs a 2.0.
Also, the reason why the Big Chap had the dome was because it was a hybrid between a human & xenomorph. I prefer the Alien Warrior design, which is iconic in its own right.
You sure about that ? Weren’t the Warriors made out of an entire human colony on the planet where they discovered the Space Jockey ? Same for the Warriors of AvP Requiem.
@louisbogli1804 Not all Xenomorphs are the same. Even the Queens are different. The Queen in AVP was completely different from the one in Aliens.
@@mitchelllawrence2798 yes but still : the Warriors came from humans too, and yet lacked the dome. It definitely has to be a species thing… or more likely director’s preferences.
@@louisbogli1804 In this case it was director's preference. The clear dome was ditched cause it kept breaking during the shoot.
@@louisbogli1804 The directors should clear it up. Also, the Xenomorphs in Alien Resurrection and Alien Covenant were different designs, too.
We need xenos with venom posability. Seamless is nice but I would much prefer the look they did for venom. That way we can actually have the perfect alien figure and hopefully we get something from Romulus

Alien Warrior sounds like a third party title if I've ever heard one.
BTW, if you have a metal ball then you could roll it along the length of the tail with some consistent pressure to get smooth curves out of metal.

Only ever bought the Big Chap, Ripley, Dallas, Kane & Hicks. The warrior alien is sweet.

Cameron's Aliens deserve a 2.0 including the Xenomorph Warriors. Ripley, Newt, Hicks, Hudson and Vaquez with today's standard would be too hard to pass up for any Alien fan.

I used to own this figure I regret selling it but becareful of the mouth area can break easily if you open the inner jaw with the alien and it is very difficult to push it open

Different design and prestige. The likes of Hot toys and Inart are on the different level of quality. Neca for me on a personal level are on the tier of actual figures that your 10 year old son would play with. The 1/6 scale from these companies are class more on figurines displays as oppose to physically a toy you can play with. The price difference is the biggest give away upon quality and detail
If Justin pulls out the Hot Toys Dog Alien and the Xenomorph Warrior from AvP Requiem… damn would that be siiiick !!!

Justin did you see the ultimate comic Iron man figure by Hot Toys/ Hono Studios yet, they sure are really driving the line out of the park, I also saw a short video for the Thor figure that hasn't been released as a pre-order and both are very comic accurate versions of the characters, it gives me hope we'll finally get a winged headed Captain America from the 80s.

Could be an egg, facehugger, a chestburster etc along with drool and posability would be great. I like the mouth/inner jaw gimmick but gods that would get scary to do when the figure wears a bit. Id probably like a range of jaws that could be swapped out.

Since I know Justin has an eye for details I'll share one detail that sticks in my craw with both figures. What's up with that giant fin in the middle of the alien's back? The back of the head is supposed to be able to lay back between those 4 "tubes" on its back, like we've seen in the movies when it crawls on all fours. I don't believe that fin really lines up with movie accuracy at all.
The fin is accurate! It should be farther away from the tubes though!

Take care the paint over the rubber lips isn't sealed it can easily peel off with manipulation.

I was able to find this Aliens figure for $350, and I also bought Ripley for $400, but it was missing her base.
Right now they are super expensive on eBay.... Ripley is going $600 to $800. Those are crazy numbers.
