Thanks for posting the tip about the ignition module too. I had never heard of that and now it will be one of the things I check if my car starts having this problem. I have an '88 Lesabre. I've had an '87 Lesabre and an '89 Lesabre in the past and both of those had issues with their MAF sensor failing and needing to be replaced. The symptoms were similar to where the car would stall out when I would be at stop lights or stop signs.
600 $ damm that car clean I have a 91 Buick regal custom they drive so smooth and really fast at the light speed limit always smoke the the cars next to me All cars. I did same things like u and did alot of work on it myself, and I recently changed ig module next is crankshaft sensor. Great vid 👍.
Maybe some day I will see you at the traffic light. Would be very interesting to see how my 94 Buick Park Avenue Ultra with supercharger would perform against your Buick Custom. At this point I think I would be seeing you in my rear view mirror but I could be mistake. You could have a sleeper. Best to you.
The guy I bought mine from said it was probably the ignition module, I saw one of the ignition coils sparking so I replaced it and it stalls less but still does so I’m definitely gonna replace the module next so I don’t mess up any of the other coils. Thank you for the help I couldn’t find any other videos that’s matched what was going on with mine
Is it still running mine has 265000 miles and purrs. It a lot cheaper to upgrade the ignition model to one from 1991-1993 with the 3 separated coils. Get hole setup from Juck yard for $35 bucks.
Nice video and nice car. You still have this 5 years later? I recently came to own a 1990 Buick Electra, same engine with higher end interior. We have a gremlin, where something under the hood turns on and drains the battery. Any ideas?
Did u pull the codes before you started charging part's. U can buy a cheap scanner for 60.00 and save yourself a bundle. A tech 2 clone can be bought for 300.00. I bought one and it's nice to see what is going on with your computer 💻 system.
@@samuraijose817 thanks man, mine just started this mess.. Bout ready to drive it across the scales if crankshaft sensor or thos doesn't fix my 90 regal coupe.. Already searching for a rear window for 3 years now

Cleanest engine I've seen on an '89
Not bad for $600 I’ve got a 2002 Buick Regal with the 3800 motor I got the Series 2 in mine your 1989 has the original which is the Series 1
And u can remove the 2 screws holding the mass airflow sensor in.
Makes it easy to clean.

How difficult was it to replace the fuel pump and filter? Your car looks really clean, you found a nice one and got it for a nice price
Bro im literally going through what you're going through i just bought it.
Did you find the problem man, its my turn apparently
@@luketamoncannon3795 still does it once in a while but changing the crankshaft sensor and the ignition module helped.
