I just tried this transition and it sounds so much better than just "echoing out." That build up and drama really does make a world of difference. Thank you! Keep uploading videos and keep rocking!
Awesome video man. Been using echo freeze on my Traktor. Haven't tried it with a high pass filter yet. I'll check it out later. Haha... Thanks man. Keep up the good work! And good tip on how and when to use echo by the way. Thanks!
You should make more transition videos, this was done well. I think too many DJs get stuck on one particular type of transition between tracks, so having an Arsenal of transitions to choose from will help a lot of DJs.
That's awesome! I've been djing seriously for ten years now focusing primarily on scratch techniques and being the best I can be. I also enjoy mixing too but never had enough good records and didn't have the means to get serato and a good laptop. finally I just ordered my macbook pro retna, and I picked up a brand new 57sl for cheap so I'm going to be starting off learning SSL which is cool with me for now. I'm so excited. I hope you put out more Lil tips like this because I have only used serato a little and these are the little key hints that really help. peace Andy!
Very helpful video!!! Thanks a lot! I will try to use that technique in the future! And I really like that edit from Trey Songz! Can you tell me where to get it?
on the second track did you have it in loop till you were able to transition it..so (track 1, match track 2(in loop mode) then blend it in while in(of course while in echo and high filter out
I been djing a while and I always wondered when to bring the song in on a hook of another when your mixing my question is did that song you brought in on the one have a 8bar intro or was the Just the begging of the song no intro?
So you cut the bass? Also I am mainly a mix deejay. However I wanna learn to scratch and different transitions. I own the Rane TTM57SL Mixer & serato scratch live. Can you have 2 effects like the hold echo, echo & HP filter at the same time on 1 deck?
Sorry newbie here wanna ask some questions. Are you tapping manually your echo for your desired bpm or it just automatically set up your bpm from your mixers?? And how many beat you set up for your echo effect like 1/1 beat 1/2 beat or maybe 1/4 beat?? Cause you know I little bit confuse how to do echoing transitions properly like you do. And sorry for my fuck up english. greeting from indonesia!
I have never been able to effectively use the echo transition. I think it's bc of the type of music I mix which is breakbeat, trance & some house. Every time I have tried to use the echo it really sounds like shit mainly it's the drumbeat I think.
Good video bro, I do the same with my old mixer (numark em 260). I bought this mixer brand new back in the day. Is not a scratch mixer so I do more mixing then scratching but I'm getting anew mixer this year. Check out my channel I have a video of my current setup. Great video!!!!
