5 Star were both fortunate and unfortunate, they had major success and hit albums/singles, then it all went a bit wrong and the music industry spat them out, BUT one thing still remains true, Denise Pearson is one of the best female vocalists of that time and while others around her drop the key of their songs and still struggle she can still hit every note. I know the music industry will never take her (them?) back, but i really wish a songwriter would team up with her and release some new material, her voice can make a good song a great song. Also I know why she has to bill it as 5 Star for touring, but that is also sad as it's not 5 Star and it makes it all look a bit cheap....but wow....that voice.

Some may think it wrong of Denise to present herself as Five Star without any of her 4 siblings, though there had only been 3 of them on some previous tours (Three Star or maybe Unleaded?) They're all in their 50s now, Denise is 54, Stedman, the eldest, is 58, so even if they were all there they wouldn't be bopping about in perfect robotic sequence like they used to, not for much longer anyway. Denise has always applied herself, turned up for everything, hungry for success, which in solo terms has always eluded her, and so she's singing Five Star songs, on which she was the lead singer 90% of the time, on what is a big nostalgia circuit, the appetite for 80s music being huge. Five Star were a significant chart success, a rare all-black British act who sold 3 times what JLS ever did, so she/the group name deserves the chance to perform. The only criticism I'd make here is the oufits are terrible, too baggy to showcase dance moves.
