We shouldn't forget that these World Cups happen every year, and sooner or later any team with sufficient resources is bound to win one of these. This dilutes the achievement by a fair bit.
I remember there was a time when World Cups were about a swan song of a career. Sign of a fresh start post it, and many careers ending in tears or jubilation. If you as a team failed in the world cup, you have to wait for 4 years to have another crack at it.
It happens every year, and then they keep forcing India vs Pakistan, England vs Australia to churn some money. A real sport should just grow up, have world cups every 4 years (You can have T20 world cups and ODI world cups interleaved every 2 years just like Football has FIFA World Cup and Euro/Copa America), and not force some games.
The official ICC T20 World Cup happens every 2 years, ODI World Cup every 4 years and WTC every 2 years. Not sure what you mean by every year.
@@helloworld20202 That's exactly my point. Each of these - T20 WC, ODI WC, WTC, and throw in Champions Trophy, and you have a big event almost every year.
Now, with around 4-5 serious teams in international cricket (Ind, Eng, Aus, SA, NZ), you will keep winning one of these major events every few years.
To answer your question, this is what I mean by (almost) every year:
- 2016 T20 WC
- 2017 Champions Trophy
- 2019 ODI WC
- 2020 (Scheduled a WC, but covid happened)
- 2021 T20 WC
- 2021 WTC
- 2022 T20 WC
- 2023 WTC
- 2023 ODI WC
- 2024 T20 WC
- 2025 Champions Trophy
- 2026 T20 WC
- 2027 ODI WC
So, if any half decent cricket country plays all of these events, I don't see how winning an ICC T20 WC is as noteworthy as winning a WC in other sports like Soccer, Rugby, gold in Olympics, and so on.

India winning t20 2024 has proved this. 150 to below 170 sometime do not give chance to defending team to come back.If score is above 170, the fall of one or two wickets between 13 to 17 over increase the required run rate in last few over to 8 to 9 per over and good fielding and good yorker bowling can help to defend this score even the chasing team has good start from 1 to13/14th over.
I think Axar Patel height can help him a lot in t20 cricket bowling. His height can help to control filght delivery, more flight in delivery, more sharp and sudden turn with good speed ball will come into batsman or go outside from batsman. One of greatest spinner shane warne best quality was he had very good control over flight in the fall which is realsing the ball like throwing in air and when ball land on the ground due to gravity the landing speed the ball will travel at more speed after bounce and it turn, it surprises batsman. Even a slow delivery at point of realese with with a good flight comes to batsman faster than delivery at higher spped at point of realease with higher speed and ordinary flight. If you watch shane warne bowling, you will find most his bowling speed was slow at point of release but after bouncing on pitch it travel faster. I think Axar is one such spinner who can use his height to have more control over flight and making the ball faster in speed after landing.
