Meet Tatsuya Takahashi - KORG's Star Synth Designer

  • Tatsuya Takahashi has developed some of the funnest and most iconic synthesizers and drum machines available today: the Minilogue, Monologue, Monotrons, the first rounds of Volca, Triggers and the Granular Convolver. The CEO of KORG Germany is one of the the industry's most ingenious instrument designers, with a true passion for synths and electronics since very young age.
    A group of Catalyst film and music students and alumni had the opportunity to collaborate with Tatsuya Takahashi on his Most Wanted: Music video presentation: The Powers of Ten. In the conference's presentation he took us through his design journey, talking us through some of his design and project highlights.
    In this exclusive interview we learn more about how Tatsuya developed his career as an instrument designer and what continues to spark his curiosity and motivation today.

      Yeah with no song memory etc they are toys to be honest. Still, the guy is inventive which is a dying tradition in Japan sadly
