It's the same video where he explained the concept and he told the story about the sword and how he always loved the idea of learning to use a sword and how he had it custom made but it was too heavy when they began practicing. This is a GREAT first reaction, esp. to a culture you don't know, to a song that is a real challenge to understand at first. We all went through that, lol. I like what you said about languages. And yeah Suga does not rap about "Nonsense" you nailed that too. This is the first rap I have loved, so much meaning in all of their rap songs. In a nutshell (in my opinion) this was about when he got too big for his britches (King) he needed to get his feet back on the ground. Other BTS rap songs you might like: The Last, Joke, Do You, Persona, Shadow, Daydream, and the 4 cyphers; but the best two might be Ugh! and Ddaeng but you really need to do them with the Explanation by a Korean from DKDKTV. They are good just to listen to but when you know what they really mean it is amazing. BTS has a very wide range of genres (maybe a little too pop for my taste sometimes) but overall I like them better than any group or band I have ever seen in my life. Wait till you see them dance!!! Am just putting additional infos here: Agust D is another name for Suga. The difference is that, Suga is his stage name in BTS. He debuted in 2013. As for Agust D is his other name as a solo artist outside BTS, debuted 3 years after Suga (while still in BTS). These 2 personas belong to a genius man name Min Yoongi, a 28 yo artist from South Korea. He's also a famous producer, if he produced for other artists he usually goes by the name "by SUGA". He's also known for his "Tongue Technology". He self produces, writes, & composes his own music. Even for his mv's, he got to be hugely involved in the making them. & None of his track is specifically dissing anyone, he once said "If you feel offended by it then that's your problem." I'm gonna add a suggestion for one of my favorites of his, "first love" (I think that one is under Suga and not Agust D). it's a very personal song. literally makes me cry every time (I think it's only lyrics, no MV).
You have to check out explanation vids bc it’s just too much. And look at several too bc nobody explains everything and it’s all so fire. Daechwita (korean marching music typically to accompany a king) has crazy past and present themes, almost every line is in reference to korean culture and history. It’s a flex track, a diss, a jab at the korean music industry, and a bit of an insight into Min Yoongi’s past and current state of mental health. Please look into it! I will just talk about my favourite line referring to Gwangae-gun, a prince and later king in the Joseon Dynasty (approx. 1400-1800) and the time period in which this MV was set. Yoongi just drops the line “Gwangae flow,” which is sick bc he’s basically saying he’s like Gwangae, which carries so much significance if you know the history. Gwangae was not the rightful successor, but was more worthy than his older brother, was a talented and practical politician, but went down in history as a tyrant until very recently (due to his leadership on the battlefield). He was eventually killed in a coup (also the theme in this music video). Just like Min Yoongi he was a leader despite the lack of recognition, the rumours, the downplaying of his success, and everybody was out for his throat no matter how much he simply kept his head down and accomplished. Yoongi comes from an underground rap scene that immediately shunned him for becoming and Idol, and the Idol world looked down on him and BTS for not being your typical perfect and pretty Idol group, and not coming from a big 3 company (JYP, SM, YG) basically coming from rags. Which you probably don’t know is pretty much unheard of... to rise up in the Idol industry in Korea while coming from an unknown company. Let’s just say they had absolutely nothing handed to them, but on top of that got a ridiculous amount of pushback that most would crumble under. To this DAY. Despite, they kept their heads down, worshipped those who worshipped them (ARMY) and overcame all odds. Gwanghae flow lol

Daechwita (yes, the title of the song) is basically fanfare for the king, the kind of military-style music they would play when the king would leave the palace, to alert people the king was on his way. He's actually using that kind of music in the background of the song.
The scar is actually really meaningful, too. In traditional korean culture (and modern, to a certain extent), scars were considered a lower class thing because it meant they hadn't lived a pampered lifestyle. So in this context, on the face of a King, it symbolizes someone who wasn't raised with a silver spoon in his mouth, but rather, someone who worked hard and suffered a lot to get to the position he's in now. Which is a direct reflection of Yoongi's(Agust D's real name) real life. He struggled through poverty, starvation, social anxiety, depression, at least one suicide attempt and a brutal shoulder injury to even debut, and then in BTS they struggled through ostracization because of their small, scandal-ridden company, low budget, 7 members sharing a 1 bedroom dormitory, multiple discussions of disbandment, being cut out of music programs, and multiple death threats to multiple members to be where they are today. This song is an anthem to him and his achievements.

He's a member of BTS, one of the rappers. He's known as Suga, alter ego is Agust D. There are 2 other rappers in BTS, named RM and J-Hope. You'll probably really like RM and JHope too. RM and Suga were underground rappers before BTS, and JHope was a hiphop dancer. The 3 of them all have their own individual mixtapes, and also rap songs the 3 of them do together. If you want to get into BTS, I suggest going through their rap songs first. Their best rap song (in my opinion) is called Outro: Tear. There's no music video for it, but you can react to a lyric video of it (it also tells you who is rapping which part). And their live performance of it at Wembley in England is also a must!

It's the same video where he explained the concept and he told the story about the sword and how he always loved the idea of learning to use a sword and how he had it custom made but it was too heavy when they began practicing. So they had a lighter prop made to look exactly like the custom one. It was a very stripped back video. Just him sitting in a chair speaking.

This is a GREAT first reaction, esp. to a culture you don't know, to a song that is a real challenge to understand at first. We all went through that, lol. I like what you said about languages. And yeah Suga does not rap about "Nonsense" you nailed that too. This is the first rap I have loved, so much meaning in all of their rap songs. In a nutshell (in my opinion) this was about when he got too big for his britches (King) he needed to get his feet back on the ground.
Other BTS rap songs you might like: The Last, Joke, Do You, Persona, Shadow, Daydream, and the 4 cyphers; but the best two might be Ugh! and Ddaeng but you really need to do them with the Explanation by a Korean from DKDKTV. They are good just to listen to but when you know what they really mean it is amazing.
BTS has a very wide range of genres (maybe a little too pop for my taste sometimes) but overall I like them better than any group or band I have ever seen in my life. Wait till you see them dance!!! For that, try Not Today or ON Kinetic Manifesto. I'll sub and watch for more, thanks!

Agust D is another name for Suga. The difference is that, Suga is his stage name in BTS. He debuted in 2013. As for Agust D is his other name as a solo artist outside BTS, debuted 3 years after Suga (while still in BTS). These 2 personas belong to a genius man name Min Yoongi, a 28 yo artist from South Korea. He's also a famous producer, if he produced for other artists he usually goes by the name "by SUGA". He's also known for his "Tongue Technology". He self produces, writes, & composes his own music. Even for his mv's, he got to be hugely involved in the making them.
& None of his track is specifically dissing anyone, he once said "If you feel offended by it then that's your problem." Not only his songs, but BTS's songs are mostly songs that have deeper meanings than what it seems like. They mostly produce songs that are very much socially conscious. Agust D aka Suga from BTS aka MinYoongi has started music at a very early stage. He was called the beatmaker from Deagu. The beat he makes are always the best.
I'm gonna add a suggestion for one of my favorites of his, "first love" (I think that one is under Suga and not Agust D).
it's a very personal song. literally makes me cry every time (I think it's only lyrics, no MV).
You have to check out explanation vids bc it’s just too much. And look at several too bc nobody explains everything and it’s all so fire. Daechwita (korean marching music typically to accompany a king) has crazy past and present themes, almost every line is in reference to korean culture and history. It’s a flex track, a diss, a jab at the korean music industry, and a bit of an insight into Min Yoongi’s past and current state of mental health. Please look into it!
I will just talk about my favourite line referring to Gwangae-gun, a prince and later king in the Joseon Dynasty (approx. 1400-1800) and the time period in which this MV was set. Yoongi just drops the line “Gwangae flow,” which is sick bc he’s basically saying he’s like Gwangae, which carries so much significance if you know the history. Gwangae was not the rightful successor, but was more worthy than his older brother, was a talented and practical politician, but went down in history as a tyrant until very recently (due to his leadership on the battlefield). He was eventually killed in a coup (also the theme in this music video).
Just like Min Yoongi he was a leader despite the lack of recognition, the rumours, the downplaying of his success, and everybody was out for his throat no matter how much he simply kept his head down and accomplished. Yoongi comes from an underground rap scene that immediately shunned him for becoming and Idol, and the Idol world looked down on him and BTS for not being your typical perfect and pretty Idol group, and not coming from a big 3 company (JYP, SM, YG) basically coming from rags. Which you probably don’t know is pretty much unheard of... to rise up in the Idol industry in Korea while coming from an unknown company. Let’s just say they had absolutely nothing handed to them, but on top of that got a ridiculous amount of pushback that most would crumble under. To this DAY. Despite, they kept their heads down, worshipped those who worshipped them (ARMY) and overcame all odds. Gwanghae flow lol

Daechwita (yes, the title of the song) is basically fanfare for the king, the kind of military-style music they would play when the king would leave the palace, to alert people the king was on his way. He's actually using that kind of music in the background of the song.
The scar is actually really meaningful, too. In traditional korean culture (and modern, to a certain extent), scars were considered a lower class thing because it meant they hadn't lived a pampered lifestyle. So in this context, on the face of a King, it symbolizes someone who wasn't raised with a silver spoon in his mouth, but rather, someone who worked hard and suffered a lot to get to the position he's in now. Which is a direct reflection of Yoongi's(Agust D's real name) real life. He struggled through poverty, starvation, social anxiety, depression, at least one suicide attempt and a brutal shoulder injury to even debut, and then in BTS they struggled through ostracization because of their small, scandal-ridden company, low budget, 7 members sharing a 1 bedroom dormitory, multiple discussions of disbandment, being cut out of music programs, and multiple death threats to multiple members to be where they are today. This song is an anthem to him and his achievements.

If you are a little confuse Min Yoongi is the real name of Agust D (his name when the song is a solo of him) and Suga (his name as a Bts member)
He's a member of BTS, one of the rappers. He's known as Suga, alter ego is Agust D. There are 2 other rappers in BTS, named RM and J-Hope. You'll probably really like RM and JHope too. RM and Suga were underground rappers before BTS, and JHope was a hiphop dancer.
The 3 of them all have their own individual mixtapes, and also rap songs the 3 of them do together. If you want to get into BTS, I suggest going through their rap songs first. Their best rap song (in my opinion) is called Outro: Tear. There's no music video for it, but you can react to a lyric video of it (it also tells you who is rapping which part). And their live performance of it at Wembley in England is also a must!
