Not sure if you guys gives a damn but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf these days :)
My first tournament I was so nervous I left the block almost 5 seconds early and it took me another 3-4 seconds to realize it 🤭 the refs were looking at me with their heads tilted like wtf dude! Lol. Never did that again though and I always would remind my teammates not to do it.
6. Always check your marker for hits At the combine in Florida I went to bunker a guy. He shot the front of my hopper and I didn’t notice. I went on to try to bunker another dude, and he just looked at me all confused. I then realized I just got a major penalty in front of everyone in the combine and some of my favorite pros. I learned my lesson though :)
This goes for general open play games.. One of my biggest pet peeve as being a ref was. People who get shot and as they are walking off. They either 1. Start telling the teammates around them where everyone is 2. Standing on the sideline taking the mask off inside the hot zone.. 3. Stand on the sideline and shooting their markers at random things. Barrel sleeve on, turn everything off and enjoy watching the rest of the match.
I had a group of six at my local field. They broke all three of these rules at once. Once called out on it, immediately got pissy. They got kicked out within three games because they weren’t listening and kept arguing back.
@@abelcalvillo858 Nah man. Cheating in this sport is disingenuous. I've been in a few situations where someone cheating ruined the game for the team we were playing against. A guy was sitting S2 looking in and a teammate bunkered him. Well he decided to spin and got a minor and had his last teammate alive pulled out. We got 2 off break and one on an over slide into dorito. Game ended on a point that both teams were looking forward to. All because some jackass decided to rub his pack when we spun.
I'm a woodball guy and once ages ago the horn had just sounded and i wasn't even to the first bunker yet when some punk nailed me in the back of the dome. They claimed a fogged mask, and yea it was wet that day but why the hell did they shoot when there was no chance of the other team even being in range at that point. (field was of decent size, the old no limits in taylor). I wasn't a happy camper waiting for that round to end.
Now let’s talking about what not to do to get shot as easy #6 never poke your head out in the same area more than twice poke out from the bottom switch sides, #7 Communication is key don’t just be quiet in a speedball match be yelling Dorito or your codes for ur team, #8 being the over dog is better than the underdog have one or two people giving pressure never stay in the back too long
#9 Don't get tunnel vision on a single opponent. All to often, I see people so focused on a single opponent, that they are completely oblivious to other opponents movement, opportunities to pick off an easy open opponent, unaware of how many teammates are still in game, where teammates are firing, where teammates are located and if needing help, etc. Keep track of no less than 2 opponents at any given time, and communicate those 2 to the team.
In no particular order 1.) Wearing the wrong equipment. More for rec ball than anything, but I swear the amount of idiots running around in full Call of Duty: Noob Ops gear that gets snagged on everything and slows their movement down to a crawl is comical. There's a reason paintball clothing is made the way it is. 2. Not practicing loading your hopper under duress. The amount of opponents I've tagged as they clumsily grasp for a pod or take their eyes off the field to fill their hopper would blow you away. Just stap on your kit while watching a movie and practice loading your hopper without taking our eyes of the movie over and over until its muscle memory. 3.) Lack of communication. Can't stress enough that telling your team mates where the enemy is and what they're doing makes or breaks the game. 4.) Pointing to other players if you think you've shot them. This is a bit more hazy, as some rec ball games with massive teams is over whelming for referees, but you're exposing yourself and potentially losing more kills but taking a finger off the trigger to point someone out. Just keep shooting until they leave the field, easy as that. 5.) *Personal Choice* Profanity. I don't know when paintball started getting so many petulant man children who scream and throw pods when they get out, but that nonsense needs to stop. If you don't like how you perform, get better. Stop blaming your equipment, the field, the weather, everything but you for how often you're eliminated. The amount of teams who speak almost entirely in a language made of cussing and foul language is appalling and is a dark mark on the sport. For kids especially this is shameful and referees should be throwing people out for it.
@@CelestialDesign Thanks man. I would submit that if even these five were followed to the letter paintball as a sport/hobby would increase in participants ten fold.
I've shot my teammate during a tournament in the back of the head before... like 3 times!!! And I've shot the referee before during a tourny as well!! GOOD TIMES!!
I’d have to disagree with number 5, this is why there is no longer a beeping countdown timer. Almost all of the top pro teams trained to count the beeps and would always jump on the last beep. To a ref when it’s a half a second difference and all 5 jump off the box it’s extremely hard to make that call to pull all of them. Watch some videos and you’ll see playing rocking back and forth to the beats. The timing is so close I really don’t think the refs even noticed. 2020. - no more beeping countdown. I look at the clock and once it’s 3 seconds I set up and wait for the buzzer to release me. I do feel bad for the non pro guys because they don’t get the same kind of reffing we do. I know it’s difficult to get a divisional reffing crew trained the same but damn I can’t even watch the divisional games, I feel your frustrations.
Don't eat Taco Bell or anything else that gives you the runs before arriving to the location of a tournament. It sucks to have to shit really bad in the middle of a long ass point.
Got two majors and a minor in one weekend, one of the majors was bullshit they gave it to me for having a nick on my pack strap and I crawled and got a major.
I once shot my teammate because my mask fogged up and I saw paintballs going in his direction and saw a guy not realizing it was a team mate so I immediately apologized and showed him my mask so he can see that I wasn’t lying
I was stupidly lucky on one of my matches. I was running toward the same bunker as an opponent and he ran to bunker me but his gun was off hahaha I just shot his shoe
Credit to #1. My dad was a ref for many years. Taped to the strap of his ref bag, in plain view, was what he liked to call the "be nice to the ref" knife. It's about a 7 inch blade thats also 2 inches wide, and it was always Razor sharp. And that not even hyperbole, he would shave his arm with it to show how sharp it was

yes its bad to drain stored energy in legs and try to perform 100% the day after.
Adam Griffin had that day before my legs got a cramp 😂 fell down

3. Don't shoot your own team.
2. Don't get a penalty
1. Don't piss off refs

I've had something similar happen, but the person that shot me was a kid, so the ref nearby came over, wiped me clean, and said, "keep playing."
I always put new batteries every tourney cause I always forget to turn my hopper on so I just make sure it stays on the whole day lol

Don’t make a run through or go for a bunkering with a near empty loader.
Not fill up the tank before a point
Not cleaning off old hits
When I'm going to a corner I always tell the person running to get low. If anything if your not burning get low till you get to your bunker.
