We've got a weirdly shaped bunker at our field. In order to play aggressively, you have to step back and play real loose. If you stay tight, you can't see your opponents around the bunker. The only man who can effectively play that bunker is paul. The bunker's name is Paul.
Overshooting for me and in my area is more so sending 10 shots to get a person out. Basically the opposite of one balling someone. Bonus ball is hitting them after they are already called out.
At fun on the run (a field in fort worth, texas) we called the newbies something along the lines of suits or jumpsuits. Most new players would rent these full body camo jumpsuits because they thought it gave them an advantage but the experienced players knew it just meant they were new. Also getting shot in the face was called getting dinked, after the metal dink sound a real bullet would make if it struck a metal helmet
Cheater boards were notorious among matrix owners, timmy users would often get accused of using a cheater boards though it was typically just a case of a weak trigger spring or the debounce set up wrong.
Thanks for telling all the scrubs the terms. Gets rid of the deer in head lights look. 😂 We don't call it lazers out here. People be throwing ropes. Forgot about walking the trigger as well.
Ok, one more (I'm serious this time) - i always heard shooting darts instead of shooting lasers in most of the East Coast events. If I remember correctly, the first time I saw or heard the term in a mass media format was a review of a palmer's pursuit custom gun. After that it was common to hear from players using autococker/sniper based markers.
Pods. I've heard guppies as well. Overshooting: can be bonus balling, or shooting an already killed player. Can also be shooting 1 player so much, so fast that they get hit a large number of times before calling themselves out.
I played just east of Austin Texas but I haven't played on a field in like 8 years ish. Two terms I heard were "over-spray" which is the paint that splatters off what was hit, and the other was "dime" like one guy would say "hey you got some paint on your shoulder." and the guy would ask "Is it dime?" basically asking if it was enough to count as a hit. I guess there was a rule that any paint on someone bigger than a dime counts as a hit, since a partial hit might burst between you and what ever you leaning on, and I guess the dime was chosen as the minimum amount that counts. Oh and this wasn't something other people used but the guys I played with and I would say Foxtrot, instead of bunker, fort, cover, or whatever and Vegas for crappy cover. Those were the names of the good and sub-par forts we built out where we played woods ball. I guess we did it because we thought it was cool to have some kind of code so the other team wouldn't figure out what we were talking about... I don't think it ever made a difference.
From South Jersey: •No one EVER said “Agg”, it was either “dope” or “sick”. Agg was for pretenders. •”Shooting ropes” was for ball on ball accuracy. •”Running hot” was a gun over chrono limit. Local field one we used a lot was “soccer mom”, the parent that didn’t just drop their kid at the field and let them play, they would stay all day and bring them juice boxes and shit.
Kentucky -shooting ropes is shooting lazers although i have heard both. -stabbing is bunkering. He got stabbed. - Serving Tea is not switching hands to shoot with your off hand, old timers call it Kentucky long arming. - the last player left im a 5-1 situation is a trophy buck
Some of these tech terms are really good. The slang in this kind of kind of list starts all the children throwing around dorky lingo to try to fit in and be the coolest paintballer.
San Diego, CA Fields: Giant Paintball, Velocity Paintball, Jungle Island Paintball 1.) "Relax" - stop wasting so much paint and pick your targets 2.) "Heavy left/right/'center" - majority or large quantity of players moving in that area or to that area 3.) "Rental(s)" - a player (usually inexperienced, but not always using a rental gun) who's needlessly dithering about getting in people's way and sucking hardcore. Can be said of someone who isn't using a rental gun but behaving like a new player. 4.) "Crash that......" - move quickly, if not sprinting, to a certain piece or cover, or to an enemy location to neutralize them once pinned down. 5.) "You're fuc!ing out!" - You're not "maybe" out, you're out in such a way multiple people saw you get pegged with multiple shots on an obvious location you can't dispute. Much different then "dude you're out". 6.) "Pegged" - shot. Synonymous with "tagged". 7.) "This field sucks" - said by players who never exert any effort to change positions and stand at the back of the map dumping ten pods a game because their mom's credit card paid for 6 cases and their admission. Once they're forced to change maps and realize they might have to move against gravity in some manner, the accusation of the field's credibility immediately comes into play.
